chapter 53

--MC POV--

"Are you telling me that Peter was able to resurrect himself?" I asked to Laura, who had come back with Derek a few minutes ago.

The full moon had already passed, and Erica, Boyd, and Isaac were currently sleeping.

"Yes, he used a very rare ritual. I never thought it could be possible, since this ritual was considered more of a legend, than a real thing. The conditions required to achieve resurrection can't be easy to obtain after all." She stated.

"How rare?" Asked Lydia.

"You need to die at max two months before the worm moon, after that you would need the help of a banshee and the help of an alpha, who share his spark's power to regenerate the body". At these words I looked at Derek, who seemed pretty weak.

"I didn't help willingly. The banshee attacked me by surprise and when I woke up Peter was nowhere to be seen".

"There is another banshee?" asked Lydia.

"Yes, but we still don't know anything. The good news is that Derek is still the alpha, and he will soon get better, while Peter will be weakened for some time, so he won't be a problem" Said Laura.

"So should we hunt him?" I asked, as I really didn't want to let Peter get back after all he did.

"No, he won't be a problem, he is probably going to hide far away from here, as he knows he would die again if he came here. Moreover, right now we have a bigger problem." Stated Laura, and from the tone of her voice I knew it was something bad, maybe even worse than Peter in his alpha form.

"Now that it is known that there is new alpha here, they may come here for Derek" added Laura.

"Are you talking about the omegas? Didn't we already resolve the problem? Even if there are others it will be easy to deal with them" I said.

"Not omegas, but alphas"

"Why would other alphas come here?" I asked, as for what I know this isn't something that should happens.

"To force him into joining them".

"Join what?"

"Their pack" A pack of alphas?

I have grown a lot in strength lately, and if I were to face Peter now, I'm sure I would be able to come out as the winner, but a whole pack of alphas is another thing.

"Their leader is the strongest existing alpha; he first raised his powers by killing all his betas and then he became even stronger by making other alphas do the same and come under him. That is how this pack was formed" Laura said with a serious tone.

"When will they be here?"

"Soon probably".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A week passed and Derek has been busy in dealing with Isaac father, but at last the man is now in prison and Isaac is living with his aunt.

The lives off all three new betas has been going great.

Erica is now officially Stiles' girlfriend and Boyd is happy to finally have friends.

Even Scott was able to get through this rough period, and finally he accepted that things were finished with Allison.

On the other hand, the Argent were finally allowing Allison to stay with us, as there was no reason to do this now that she was already a werewolf.

Everything would look good, if it wasn't for the imminent danger, that was about to come here in Beacon Hills.

These days I've been working on regaining my Lion form back, and I was successful most of the times, but it isn't something immediate.

Unfortunately, things weren't as easy as in anime or movies, where you just need to will it or say some cringe incantation, to achieve magical feats.

Changing my form, required me to lower the influence of my intellect and let my instinct came out.

This process isn't easy, as it destroys the balance inside your mind, and it is from that balance that your ego is formed.

We are the result of the constant clash between our instinct and our intellect, which are mediated by our ego. Letting one prevails is like tearing away a part of yourself and there is also the constant fear that you won't be able to go back to what you were.

The first time I achieved this state again it was quite chaotic as I started to destroy every tree or rock that stood in my way. It was only thanks to Laura's help that I was able to go back to normal.

Now that she was a part of my pride, she was indeed safe from me, after all the connection that is formed between us can be felt in an instinctual way. (Think of Natasha and Hulk)

At least I'm getting better now, as I had the realization that I don't need to totally give up on my intellect, but I just need to lower it enough for the transformation to kick in.

It took many trials and even now it takes at least a minute of concentration to achieve it, but at last, I can add to my arsenal the full animal transformation and if what Laura said about the alpha pack is true than I'll need it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Is this their symbol" I asked while looking at a mark they left on the door of the Hale's burned house.

"Yes, they have been here".

"Are they Nazis? This thing resembles a swastika." I stated, after all if there was another leg it would have indeed become a swastika.

"No, this thing takes after our family symbol, the triskelion" said Laura.

"Why would they do something like this?"

"It was a show of power. The Hale pack used to be one the strongest, when my mother was present and by plagiarising our symbol, they wanted to make others understand that they didn't fear our retaliation" She said with a bitter tone.

"How much time do we have?"

"Usually, they first send a message like this, and give some time for the alpha to willingly kill his pack and join them, but if it doesn't work they would come after him some months later and then he will either join them or he will be killed" Said Laura.

I looked at my side and took in the sight of Malia, Lydia and Laura.

This time I won't lose, I can't take risks anymore, no matter the cost.

3rdPerson POV

In a room somewhere else, five people of different ages and sex were planning their next move.

"There are more shapeshifters we thought" said a woman who stood barefoot.

"But just few are part of Derek's pack" replied a man with sunglasses.

"This won't stop them from helping him" added the woman.

"We'll make sure they won't bother us. Moreover we are alphas we don't need to be scared of them."

"Why do we have to through such a length when Derek Hale isn't even our true objective" asked an imposing man on the side.

"When you play chess the most important thing is to hide your intention, so that when the time comes, you will be able achieve a checkmate, and the opponent will only realize the truth when it is too late. Derek Hale will be our distraction" replied the man with the sunglasses.

"All this for just one beta, I could do the job by myself right now" said the big man.

"Don't judge him just based on what we know. It is his hidden potential, that may turn dangerous. If there is even a small chance, he might become a true alpha than we must take care of this with a particular attention."

(I'll see if I'll be able to post a second chapter in the next few hours)
