Nie Li also began to carry out his plan. He took out the Heavenly energy Crystal. It was the most powerful energy source he had. He needed it to power his new array, Life Energy Storm. It was his own pattern design. It just turned the ambient energy into a life attributed energy and created a cyclone with it. It was not an attack, but it should be great for disrupting Mo Kuang's control over the environment and not allowing him to form a new body.

Nie Li quickly started creating the array. It had taken him two minutes to create the array and another minute to check it for mistakes. He created this array on the fly, so checking it was a prudent idea. Meanwhile girls 'killed' Mo Kuang dozens of times angering him to the point where he just unintelligently roared whenever he got a brief opportunity.

"I am finished." Nie Li informed the girls before activating the array. Array started to absorb the energy from the Heavenly Energy Crystal to convert it into Life energy and rotate around the orb. The orb was also lifted into the air, as the rotating sphere of life energy surrounded it.

Mo Kuang tried again a couple of times to form a body. But a couple of inches from the black hole's surface, under the effects of life energy his body disintegrated. With this array, Mo Kuang couldn't form a body, even a metaphysical one. So he couldn't use any techniques either. Array also blocked his connection to the environment. His death energy was quite feeble.

"So, what do you say now?" Nie Li asked mockingly. Mo Kuang's real power was somewhere around 3-4 star Silver rank. Only by borrowing the power of the world, he was able to use dangerous Black Gold rank attacks. How he was able to access that power was a mystery to Nie Li. He was very interested in such kind of knowledge. If Mo Kuang shares his knowledge willingly it will save much time and effort.

"Kid release me now!" a misty face angrily bellowed. "Or I am going to kill you a hundred different ways when I get out of here"

"Oh, so you weren't planning to kill us before?" Nie Li asked.

"I am the god. You should die when I demand it."

"He is a bit full of himself, isn't he?" Ye Ziyun sarcastically asked.

"He had reigned in this world for decades. It must be the first time he is in such a pitiful situation." Xiao Ning'er said.

"You! Winged dragon family wh***. Come here, I will show you pitiful. You, …" the ghost had no plans of stopping. Nie Li rammed his sword into the cursing face, dispersing it.

"Girls, look around the chamber. Here may be some interesting things. But don't touch anything until I tell you it's safe." Nie Li said. With the Xiao Ning'er here he wouldn't get anything out of this ghost. He also didn't like the way he was talking to Xiao Ning'er. He must really hate her family. Girls left leaving him alone to interrogate the ghost.

"So, tell me, old man. Was it you who brought us here?"

"Why would I tell you anything?" Mo Kuang grouched. "I will just wait for that crystal of yours to deplete and when that happens I will slowly rip you apart."

"I am afraid that won't work. This crystal generates energy, so it will never deplete. Imagine being trapped like this for million years." Mo Kuang looked at the Heavenly Energy Crystal. He could feel the large about of energy the crystal was releasing and could believe that kid was not lying.

"So what? I am immortal. I can wait as long as I need."

"Sorry to burst your bubble old man, but you are already dead." Nie Li started to inspect the orb closely. "Oh, this is not a world core as I thought, but a …world seed? A dead one at that." Nie Li thoughtfully murmured.

Mo Kuang also became silent and watched Nie Li. Even after so many years, he had no idea what the orb was. Of course, he knew and controlled some of its features, but the true nature of the treasure that caused his death was still a mystery to him.

Nie Li was surprised as well. When he first saw it, he thought it was a world core, if a bit small. The cores were very rare treasures that appeared in dead or dying worlds. When the world died, they crystallized their laws and their last remaining energy into cores.

Some people were able to find a way into those worlds and bring their cores back. But it was so rare that Nie Li even in his previous life never encountered a single one. They were very useful in creating subsidiary worlds. It wasn't a necessary ingredient, but if you had a world core, you could create a subsidiary world that wouldn't have to be tied to the real world. If Nie Li had to guess he would say the Myriad Miles and Mountains Painting was created using a world core.

But this world wasn't just a subsidiary world. When Nie Li noticed the world boundary and access to the void this world had, he became very interested in the secrets of this world. He wanted to know how someone was able to create a subsidiary world with the characteristics of the real one. And it looks like he found his answer. The world seeds were a myth or theory even to the experts in the Draconic Ruins Realm. No one could prove their existence.

Nie had read about it in a book that theorized how the worlds came into being. World seeds created the worlds and when those worlds reached their end they gave birth to a world core. And that core drifted in the Void for millions or billions of years and turned into a new world seed. But that was only a theory.

And the world seed in front of him felt dead. Of course, Nie Li couldn't say what a normal world seed should be like. So he would have to research this matter on his own later.

"So old man, will you answer my questions of your own will, or will I have to take some drastic measures?"

"Hmph. Do your best, boy."

Nie Li didn't have the patience to deal with this cranky ghost. Nie Li got closer to the red orb partially leaving the protection of the Life Energy Storm array. The ghost couldn't do much without its body. It was just a soul now. Nie Li wanted to learn how he was connected to the red orb. And was this orb a world seed, or not?

The ghost also hesitated when Nie Li left the protected area of the cyclone entering the eye of the storm where the red orb was located. He wasn't sure why this kid was so confident in himself. After suffering a defeat at his hands he was a bit careful.

But seeing that Nie Li was just ignoring him, paying all of his attention to the red orb, he became enraged. He hadn't been a very patient person when he was alive, and his mood worsened even more, after so many years of semi-existence in a state of ghost. If the kid thought he was harmless in this state, he was in for a rude awakening. Mo Kuang isn't going to give him a chance.

Nie Li felt the intrusion into his soul realm and smirked. The old fool took the bait. Without his corporeal form, the only avenue of the attack left for the ghost was to attempt to possess him. But it was not easy to possess Nie Li, especially when he was prepared.

Mo Kuang appeared in front of a huge vortex when he entered the kid's soul realm. He was surprised. This was the first time he saw such a thing. He had kidnapped and tried to possess many people before but their soul realms were usually similar. Whenever he tried the possess them his strange energy poisoned their bodies and soul and his victims died very painfully.

That was why he kidnapped more people from the outside the world. He conducted experiments to find a way to safely possess a body. This time he just wanted to kill the kid not possess him. But the strangeness of the soul world surprised him unpleasantly. He could feel the vortex devouring his energy. He tried to get away from the vortex, but couldn't. Now the vortex was sucking him in too!

"So what do you say now, old man?" Nie Li's transparent figure appeared in his soul realm.

"Let me go, you bastard!" Mo Kuang struggled even more to free himself.

Nie Li sighed. This old specter was just too stubborn. And Nie Li didn't actually need him alive to extract information. Even if he couldn't extract his primordial soul with a technique with his current cultivation, in his soul realm he had some methods. He just didn't want to devour some human's soul depriving him of a chance of reincarnation. It must be the sensibilities he inherited from Robert.

"This is your last chance, old man. Will you answer my questions?"

"Release me you brat! When I get out…"

Nie Li didn't wait for him to finish his speech and strengthened the suction force of the vortex. The vortex started to strip the soul, layer by layer, and devour it. Mo Kuang screeched, desperately trying to get away, but the suction force was too great. And Nie Li didn't care about the incoherent screams of the soul either.

In a couple of seconds Mo Kuang's soul origin, or primordial soul as some people called it, was the only thing left in front of Nie Li. Nie Li pulled it closer. It contained all of the memories of Mo Kuang. And with his experience of absorbing two human memories, Nie Li knew what to do, and what not to do.

He didn't need all of Mo Kuang's memories so he started to search for specific information. The primordial soul didn't have any will, so Nie Li was able to find the needed memories quickly. After absorbing them he let the vortex devour the remnants as well. Mo Kuang was already dead anyway.
