Chapter 6

Miles is being a big jerk now, i mean how can you judge someone when you have not even met or seen their work. Even when he was speaking to his assistant, Stuart, he was being a little bit rude unlike him that it got me thinking what got his pants in his twist.

Right now, Miles went out back to the balcony to take some fresh air and Damien followed him up, seems like I'm not the only one who noticed that he's in a bad mood today . After spending few minutes playing with Jax, I stood up and went out back to find Miles and Damien talking. When Damien notice that I was there , he patted Miles on his back and left , then I walked up to Miles.

" Hey "

He looked to me and said ," behaving that way inside . "

" It's okay , Now tell me what flew up your butt "

" Nothing, just work, it's stress from work ", He shrugged.

That's the s**t you feed everyone else , What's really wrong? I know you , I grew up with you . I know when something is wrong and you're lying about it ", I said narrowing my eyes at him.

He looked at me and smiled, He sat down on the chair and sighed, "it's.... it's uhm, it's nothing, i just met someone and....and ... ugh, forget about it, it's nothing. "

"it's something, so you like this girl that you met, what's her name? "

"well Jax called her Syd, so it's probably Sydney. "

"so Jax has already met her? "

"She actually found Jax , see Sheldon, i don't even know if she's married, she has a kid. "

he said covering his face and groaned.

As he said that, my mind went back to Sydney and I'm like what if ...? Nah , It can't be , I can't possibly be what I'm thinking. I do remember when Sydney came back and told me of finding a kid named Jax and meeting his dad in airport .

" How long have you known her ? ", I asked.

"i just..... ", his sentence was cut short when Mom came out.

" I was looking for you guys everywhere . What are you doing out here ".

" Nothing we're just talking ", Miles said while giving me the don't-even-say-a-word look .

Mom turned towards Miles and said," Gina told me that you guys went out last week, so how is she? "

" She's nice ", he answered a little too fast and i was finding it hard to hold my laughter because you can see the he doesn't like the girl but Mom still doesn't pick up the sign.

" So you like her ?" Mom asked already getting excited

" No Mom , we are not going to do this now , ", Miles said and looked towards me for help.

"Mooooom , you should stop trying to set up dates for him. What if he likes someone else? ", i said wiggling my eyebrows at Miles and he glared at me.

Mom look between me and Miles and look back at me again and I said," don't worry Mom just give him some time".

"Okay ," she said, then I sling my hand across mom's shoulder and said , "now that the matter is settled, can i have more lasagna ? I'm hungry ", i said and turned mom towards the door.

"But we just finished eating not quite long and now you want more? "

"you can't blame me Ma ,what can i say, I'm a growing boy and i need to feed ", i replied.

"indeed ", Miles said from the back.

"Are you sure that you don't wanna stay the night, then tomorrow you can go ", Mom said as Miles and i were preparing to leave. Karen and Damien has already gone back home earlier.

"I'm going to work tomorrow and so is Miles ", i said and pecked her cheek .

" We are coming back next week Ma , It's Thanksgiving next week ".

" Okay , take care ", she answered reluctantly .

" Bye Dad, take care ", I said on went out with the lasagna that Mom got out for me to take to Sydney, I entered my car and drove off.

By 10:30 I was able to get home, I parked my car, got out and brought out the lasagna that was in the back seat and went inside.

" Sydney ", I called out for her but no one answered. The kitchen lights was still on but the sitting room light was already off and I can see a streak of light coming from Melissa's room. I dropped the lasagna on the kitchen counter and went into Melissa's room, on getting there, I saw Melissa and Sydney sleeping while Sydney was holding a story book in her hand. She must have fallen asleep while reading a story to Melissa, I took out the book from her hand and covered them up with the duvet. I went out from the room and gently click the door shut and went down to the kitchen . I took the lasagna and put it inside of fridge and I went up to my room , I went into the bedroom and took my bath after that I went back to the room , wore my boxers and went to sleep.

"Uncle Shelly, uncle Shelly , wake up ", I heard Melissa's little voice saying before I felt her hands slapping my cheek.

" ugh... Mommy he doesn't want to wake up ", she said and I open my eyes a little and peek at her . As she saw my eyes open a little bit she squeaked and tried to get down from my body but I quickly held her back and tickled her. After a few seconds later I carried her over my shoulder and went downstairs, on reaching there I met Sydney who was making my own coffee.

" Hey Syd "

" Good morning Shelly, what you got there ",

She asked referring to Melissa who was on my shoulders.

" Nothing just a little bug that was disturbing me while I was sleeping and I'm going to squash it " I said and carried Melissa over to the couch and dropped her there and started blowing raspberry on her tummy. Sydney brought in my coffee and dropped it on the coffee table and went to the love seat and sat down. I stopped what i was doing and Melissa ran away,

"Honey your coco puffs is already in kitchen, "

Syd said to Melissa who darted to the kitchen.

I sat down and took my coffee and sipped from it,

"The lasagna is already in the fridge, i hope you saw it? ", i asked and she nodded .

"Thanks ," she said

"No problem, by the way yesterday, my sister got engaged and was looking for a wedding planner, so i kinda told her about you. So now she would like to meet you ", i said but got no response from her.

"Syd "

"Hmmmm"

I looked at her, and she said, "okay, like when will she like to meet. "

"Let me say, tomorrow "

"Tomorrow, but.... but.... "she panicked .

"You've got this, girl. Just go wow her ", i said reassuring her.

"So in her house or your parents house? ", she asked.

"My parent's house ", i replied.

"okay i can do this, " she said reassuring herself.

I smiled, finished my coffee and dropped it in the kitchen sink and then went upstairs to bath and go to work.
