A crowd started to gather as soon as the accident happened.

Seeing this, the man snorted, "My little Pearl, you really are not adorable anymore. I will come back again!"

After that, he turned around and left.

Pearl tried to move her injured leg as she dialed Edmund's number.

When Adeline and Kevin had finished their coffee, they came out from the cafe and saw that a crowd had gathered at the road.

Both of them were stunned and asked simultaneously, "What happened?"

"Probably a car accident!" Kevin said.

As he spoke, the crowd was already dispersing. Edmund walked out of the crowd while carrying Pearl in his arms.

Kevin was surprised and he subconsciously turned to look at Adeline.

He could see that Adeline's expression was stiff. She then said with a smile on her face, "Let's go back to the office."

But before they could leave, Edmund was already walking towards them.

"Pearl was hit by a car. I'm taking her to the hospital. I'll be home by eight o'clock tonight."
