ONE: The World

"all of us are born full of Hope, yet for most of us, the theme of life is Helplessness."

They say war is about hatred, revenge, and bloodshed; they are right but also wrong

Once, there was the name of a man who was feared by the world

A tyrant who burned the world until nothing remained

July 7, 2030

In madness, humans started a nuclear war

Hundreds of missiles shot up in the sky like the most beautiful fireworks

The ocean is boiling

the land was torn apart

and the sky was covered with poisonous clouds

The explosion of humanity's most potent weapon was like a star blooming above the earth.

So dazzling that it blinds the eyes

So…

It's all over

Yes, it just ended like that.

No one shouted to continue the war, no one won, left above the earth but the loser

There is only sorrow and old countries buried under their weapons

They say humans are creatures like cockroaches that are difficult to kill, they are not wrong.

Even though nuclear war killed most of the population, many still survived by God's grace

Even though life afterward is hard

At least as long as we live, there is hope

100 years later…

Time is the best thing to wash away all the joys and sorrows

The world is still in ruins

Even so, green grass can still cover land that has become a burning desert

Sometimes God's power is so amazing

Corona City

A city founded by survivors 100 years ago. The city's name is said to come from the brand of a large batch of pre-nuclear era stored beer found in an underground cellar of a certain ruin.

Prosperous city

Under the gray sky

Standing at the foot of the mountains with a large river flowing in the middle and dividing the city

Houses with a style that is entirely different from the pre-nuclear era

At a glance, we can see the remains of the ruins, which have been changed in such a way with various random things to form a residence

The roof is made of straw bales and sometimes old tin sheets

The walls are made of clay with supports tied with straw rope, plus a few old rusty nails

The roads are covered with small gravel so they don't get muddy

Electricity is a luxury here. Humans can only build a waterwheel generator on the river after much effort

It's not that they can't build more, but the river flow is only enough to turn a generator and nothing more

There were only a few places where electricity was available, except for the mayor's house and the hospital,

Everyone could only use random twigs to start a fire

Even so, no one would throw away their wood as a used torch

The morning star tore the land

Most trees burned down 100 years ago, and wood is a rare material more valuable than gold and iron.

There are only small trees currently growing on the earth

People can only scavenge some withered twigs for cooking

It isn't easy to restore the glory of the past in a short time

Even so, life must go on

Children run around playing and chasing each other

The adults were busy weaving ropes made of dry straw

Vendors peddle random items that, at first glance, are useless

And some bastards tried to intimidate some people who looked weak until the weak people took out an iron baseball bat with spiked ornaments added from nowhere

Overall, this place looks very lively

Until a man entered this city wearing dilapidated military clothing that at first glance, only required a little bit of force to tear

Humans can restore several old techniques, including making polypropylene fabric from plastic.

If someone asks what the most abundant material is nowadays, people can confidently say that it is plastic.

Even though humans can't create more plastic, it doesn't matter, considering how ruthlessly pre-nuclear humans used all kinds of Plastics to accelerate global warming.

Don't you know it's currently in the coastal city, Redsalt City. Apart from selling fish, fishermen's primary income is selling plastic that has been floating in the ocean for a decade.

This situation means that the clothing industry is developing rapidly even though the world looks dilapidated.

At least no one lacks clothes in winter; people nowadays have developed a culture oriented toward clothing models.

Not as flashy as the 2020 fashion show clothing models and above, even so, today's fashion still has its own spicy taste, especially in terms of color.

The man in the old military uniform calmly walked on the stone road throughout the city.

His eyes were glazed and unfocused with his head bowed, and his breathing was painful

The gloomy aura it gave off was enough to make an innocent child run fast as if he had encountered the monster his parents told him about to force him to sleep obediently.

Several kind people tried to help him, but he didn't respond and continued walking.

For over and over again until the man entered deep into the prosperous city.

There are no police in today's era, and even guards are only for the few who can afford to pay

Some people wish they had more enormous fists to keep some assholes from bothering anyone other than them.

The man didn't stop for a second on his journey as if he was just an automatic machine without a mind.

Until he fainted not far from the hospital

...

Jack Oswald Joestar

He was a tall man with broad shoulders who gave off a 'tough guy' impression at first glance, even though his real profession was a doctor at St. Mary's Hospital in Corona City.

This morning, Dr. Jack had a group of troublesome patients who made him unable to relax even briefly while working.

Seriously, can't they make a scene every 5 minutes ...

they only have a fever but act like they have a big sword stuck in their stomach

As the saying goes, it is easy to explain the most basic knowledge to those with brains; otherwise, it is useless even if you pour all the knowledge of the universe into a statue of a stone head.

'Can't they be as obedient as Lilianna?' thought Dr. Jack

Dr. Jack had explained at least 20 times to the stone heads that they only had a fever, not a curse from the devil

Dr. Jack hoped to borrow some big bodyguards from the mayor's residence so he could work a little more calmly instead of dealing with a bunch of monkeys

Don't look at how tough Dr. Jack looks; inside, he has a heart of cotton as sweet as sugar

His reputation was well known in Corona City as a skilled doctor even though he only learned medicine from an old book that was missing at least half of its parts.

Thought follows the times in an era when science is fading, and theology is a spiritual comfort for people.

Hospitals in this era should not exist... not because everyone is healthy but sick.

Nuclear war leaves behind terrible things

And the most terrible thing is Cancer

In this world, there are no people older than 40 years because Cancer will tear their bodies apart from the inside.

Like the wrath of God, Cancer can no longer even be called a disease because everyone born into this era has Cancer.

As if Cancer is something that always exists in humans

God says everyone is born holy

But not in this era

Everyone is born dirty with the fate of dying in pain at the end of their lives.

Maybe this is God's punishment.
