For thousands of years now, queens have been ruling our kingdom. When a Queen's reign has come to an end, a successor must be chosen by what we now know as The Rule of Cardinal. Miss Katherina Daventin, a young naive and innocent girl, has been chosen by the Cardinal to rule over the people of Nydisia. In a world where supernatural beings have not been kept a secret, she struggles to prove herself as a human chosen to rule a multitude of diverse creatures. Lucian Williams, one of the strongest beings to walk the earth, and the son of Queen Orizelle, fights alongside Katherine to help her stake her claim to the throne as it is his duty as the General of Nydisia, and slowly love surpasses duty. --STILL UNDERGOING EDITING-- [Current word count: 150,000-200,000] *This is a slow burn book, it is not going to be rushed as you will see a lot of character development and growth in the plot at a steady pace.* Disclaimer: This cover does not belong to the author. The Cardinal Part 1

A/N: Next few chapters are going to be written in the past.

--The Nydisian Kingdom, The Northern Territory, Valhalla--

"You do not need her blood to tell me what I wish to know," Lucian spoke coldly as his eyes drifted from Alexander to the seer.

The seer seemed to hold great interest in Katherine and it bothered him to unknown ends. Had it not been for the seer's usefulness Lucian would've resorted to more violent methods.

"One could say that I do," Upon seeing Lucian's glare, the seer stepped back and grabbed one of the vials while in motion. Holding it up carefully, high enough for them to see.

"Tethering to events of the past, present or future requires a strong connection," The seer popped the lid open and poured the vial into the fountain or water turning it completely black almost immediately. "That connection cannot be made without one being used as a tether," He continued to pour all the vials one after another.
