Chapter 2

The man looks at the man running at him and smiles while thinking 'I can see my old self in this guy. I still remember the saiyans beating me up. That was both cool and scary experience.'

Nie Li wanted to drag this out and see the man suffer so he planned to save his strength and slowly kill him.

Nie Li threw a punch using half his soul force but he was shocked when the man just caught it with his hand effortlessly.

Nie Li immediately jumps back. He is sweating but, he still maintained his smile to not look weak. He thought in his head ' Who is this man? I was strong enough to confront the Sage Emperor and his six deity beasts. He managed to block my punch with such ease. I might have underestimated him too much.'

"I know what is running in your head. Even I feel that I might be too strong for you. Since I am in a good mood, I will give you an advantage." the man says and snaps his finger.

Then the location suddenly changes and they are now in a space with only the sky and water around them.

Nie Li looks around and he could only see water on all sides and when he looked up. He could only see a blue sky with clouds and nothing else.

"Are you playing with me? Why did you bring me to my sea of consciousness?" Nie Li asks with an angry tone.

"I thought it would be fun if you fought in a place favourable to you. That way I can also warm up a little before going to the new world." the man says.

Nie Li in his sea of consciousness had a blue body with no legs and his figure had some weird things raising up like some blue flames.

Whereas, the man had a soul figure with perfect shape (meaning, with hands legs and all the other parts shown clearly) and no blue flames.

The man looked at Nie Li's face full of rage and said with a smirk "I thought too highly of you since you were a cultivator but, I guess this is what I should expect from a cultivator from a world which has the least peak power among the other cultivation worlds."

"What do you mean?" Nie Li asks since he couldn't understand what the man was saying.

"Ok, I can tell you of you want to know before you die. Did you notice the difference between both of our souls?"

Nie Li replies with a nod. He isn't a fool and noticed it immediately.

"Good! This difference in the appearances of our souls is the level of our souls. There are 12 rankings and your soul ranks somewhere in between."

"Then your soul?" Nie Li asks.

"I am at 10th rank. This is the highest a mortal can reach. To breakthrough to the next two, I need an understanding of the universe and some resources only available to gods.

After suffering for 99,900 years I finally found a way to end this endless loop of living 100 years and moving to a new life. This is the reason I can't let this chance slip.

However, even if you had a tragic past or some sad story and this was my normal 100 year life, I would still take this body and kill you." the man explains.

Seeing Nie Li's face, the man understood that he was still confused. He said "Don't think too much about it. Just resume our fight and hope for mercy."

Nie Li, this time, slowly approaches him, observing each and every movement of his enemy.

The man was just standing still and looking at Nie Li while picking his nose.

Nie Li's thoughts were 'He is full of openings but, I know this is due to his confidence on his strength. I don't have any demon spirit so, I have to manage with physical attacks and attacks with soul force.'

"If you are not gonna come, I will come for you." the man said and suddenly vanished.

Nie Li had his eyes wide form shock. He then suddenly ducked and the place where his head was previously, the man's fist was there.

Nie Li thought that he had somehow managed to dodge his punch but then, he was suddenly sent flying.

He obviously didn't bleed. He somehow managed to stop himself by putting his hands in the water.

The opposing force of water helped him stop. Nie Li was breathing heavily while holding his chest.

'What is happening? I thought I dodged it. Even if his hit was followed by a shockwave, it should hurt near my back but, my chest region hurts.' Nie Li thought.

"I know you are confused and are wondering what just happened. It is called Advanced Armament Haki. I learnt from a friend named Luffy. It sends energy inside the target and then destroys the insides. Energy is soul force in your case.

Since this is your soul, it only hurts. You still have time to give up." the man said.

Nie Li's answer was obviously 'NO'.

*sigh* "Sorry man. As much as I want to show pity on you, I also have work to do and I am also excited about my first cultivation world. So, this is going to be my final attack." the man says while slowly rising his hand.

In his open palm, energy or soul force started gathering and spinning. It slowly increased and formed a sphere.

The sphere started growing in size, till it grew large enough that the shadow covered both him and Nie Li.

"This move was also taught to me by a friend named Naruto. It's called Giant Rasengan." the man said and jumps in the air with the rasengan.

Nie Li looks at the giant sphere with the violent soul force in the sphere and knew that he was no match for it. He still didn't give up and released all his soul force he had left, towards the rasengan.

The man pushed the the giant rasengan towards Nie Li and the little soul force from Nie Li didn't even slow it down a little.

"Sorry young man." the man said and then the rasengan hit Nie Li.

The water around Nie Li all burst out and turned into waves that were high enough to resembled the tsunami.

After some time, Nie Li's soul surfaced on the water and he just laid there.

Though the soul looks like it hasn't taken any damage, Nie Li felt pain like never before.

"Can I ask you some questions before I die?" Nie Li asks.

The man nods his head.

"What's your name?"

"Pfhahahaha..... I expected some important question but, you sure are funny. Let me think..." the man thought for a while and said "I don't remember."

Nie Li had a weird expression. Seeing it, the man says "Listen young man, I have lived for 99,900 years. Every 100 years I get a new name. I don't remember the first one. Is there anything else you want to ask?"

"I would like to know what will happen to me after you kill me." Nie Li asks.

"I think 'die' is the wrong word. I will just take your memories and send your soul to a new body. The person named Nie Li will die. That's just it. No mortal can kill a soul." he answers.

"Then I have a final wish." Nie Li says with a weak tone. He is struggling to talk while suppressing the pain.

"I did say I would consider any regrets or wishes you have. Ask what you want. If it is doable, I will do it." says the man.

"My only regret in my previous life is that I couldn't protect the ones I cared and the ones I love. If you promise to keep them safe and happy, I can rest in peace." Nie Li asks in a pleading tone.

"OK done. I will protect all those who are close to you and are dear to you. Now then, time to depart. Bye." the man says.

After he finished saying the last word, a huge demon with six arms appeared. A sword, a trident, a spear, a bow, a hammer and an axe in each arm.

"Asura" Nie Li murmurs.

The man looks at the demon and says "Asura, do your job."

Asura replies with a deep voice "I know. You don't have to say."

Then the whole surroundings changed. Nie Li looks around and he found himself in an unknown place. He couldn't recognize the place.

The surroundings resembled the dining room of a medieval period palace. Asura is sitting on a chair near the table and on the table, there are candles, forks, knifes and a golden plate, on which Nie Li's soul was there.

Asura opens his mouth. Then some white fog left Nie Li's soul and entered Asura's mouth.

Then the surroundings changed again and they were back to Nie Li's sea of consciousness.

Nie Li's soul had a lifeless expression and then, his soul slowly disappeared from the sea of consciousness.

Asura looks at the man and says "Why did you lie that you don't remember your name?"

"Shut up! I told you not to bring it up. Now, send me all his memories. I have a world to conquer and some gods to kill." says the man.

"Do you also need the gift that bastard gave you?" asura asks.

"That gift is important. He is going to regret giving me this crazy thing. I will also read my diary now. This time, it is our turn to play with them." the man says.

The same white fog from Nie Li's soul came out of Asura's mouth and entered the man's soul.

"This process always makes me sick. It looks like you are throwing up on me." the man says.

"Oh shut up! Be grateful that you at least have me here to do all these. If I didn't exist, you would have a hard time surviving their torture." Asura says.

"You were born from my energy and bonded with my soul. So, you exist now because of me." the man says while thinking 'I hate to admit it but, if you were not there, I would have long gone crazy.'

Asura can also hear his thoughts, and when he heard it, he smiles at him and disappears.

The man starts to accumulate all of Nie Li's memories.

After a while, he opens his eyes and looks at Asura.

Asura smiles and asks "Why didn't you ask me to remove all his personal time with his girlfriend?"

"I didn't touch any girl since my second life because, I knew I would get reincarnated again. The pain of parting with a loved one is painful than any physical pain.

Now that I have a goal and a foolproof plan, I don't have to worry about loosing them. I also promised that Nie Li guy that I would protect his loved ones. I would have to be strong for that.

If I become strong enough to protect others, I would be more than capable of protecting my loved ones." he replies.

"So, should I call you Nie Li from now? Or the usual name?" Asura asks.

"I am Nie Li till I leave this world." he says with a smile.
