Chapter 3 Yun Zhu

"What?" Yang Yu asked in shock as an old spirit like man appeared in front of him. His face was old and wrinkled and he had long white hair reaching his waist. His long beard reached the ground as his pure white robes fluttered.

"So you've inherited my ring, young child." The old man said. "What do you mean your ring? Its clearly mine." Yang Yu said as he got ready to bolt. "Calm down child, I am but a spirit, a mere wisp of soul." The old man said as Yang Yu stood there shocked.

"How could you put your soul in an object?" Yang Yu asked in shock yet again as the old man snickered. "When you reach my realm, naturally you'll be able to, but before that I must explain what is going on." The old man said as he began to pace.

"Exactly 1000 years ago, I was in a battle, and I lost. Luckily for me I had prepared before hand and kept a strand of my soul in a ring, the ring you currently possess. 1000 years ago I was the smartest under the heavens knowing, dare I say, everything under the heavens." The old man said.

Hearing this Yang Yu thought this old man was crazy. 'He's clearly on something.' Yang Yu thought as the old man chuckled. "I know its hard to believe but my soul actually is in that ring, just try run away." The old man said as Yang Yu who already wanted to bolt, bolted.

Immediately the old man moved as well always keeping the same distance with Yang Yu, but his feet never moved. 'D-Don't tell me this is actually true?' Yang Yu thought as the old man said "It is."

Seeing and hearing the old man Yang Yu immediately stopped in his tracks. "I am still a bit suspicious but I'll believe you for now." Yang Yu said as he gazed at the old man.

"Okay, seeing as you've calmed down, I'll continue to explain. I will teach you all I know, and help whenever needed, in exchange though, I wish for 2 things, firstly I want you to explore and run around, and find new knowledge for me, and secondly I want you to reform my body if the opportunity arises." The old man said.

"What!? That is literally impossible, not even a fabled Elemental Fusion expert could do such a thing." Yang Yu said as he looked at the old man in bewilderment. "Haha, Elemental Fusion? How is that fabled? Back in the day I had people 100s of times stronger than that begging for my advice." The old man said causing Yang Yu even more shock.

'This must be a turning point, the time when my luck finally turns around.' Yang Yu thought as the old man nodded. "You should thank your lucky stars to find me." The old man said as Yang Yu was shocked yet again. 'So you can read my mind?' Yang Yu thought in shock. To this the old man nodded.

"You know what, I am just gonna expect you can do everything." Yang Yu said as he was numb to the surprises at this point. "Mhm, well I can't do everything but for you I guess you could perceive it as such, anyway, introductions are in order. I am Yun Zhu." The old man said as Yang Yu nodded.

"Yang Yu." He simply replied as the old man smiled. "So, I presume you are an orphan?" Yun Zhu asked as Yang Yu nodded. "Well, its a pity, but it works for our situation. At your age you should just begin cultivating, where's the closest sect to here?" Yun Zhu asked.

"The 2 closest sects are the Sky Spirit Sect, and the Blood Sword Sect." Yang Yu said as Yun Zhu nodded. "I see, if I recall correctly the Sky Spirit Sect was formed about 2000 years ago, while the Blood Sword Sect was formed 2500 years ago. Heritage wise the Blood Sword Sect is slightly better, but its also a cruel environment and with no backing you'll be trampled upon." Yun Zhu quickly analysed.

"So you aren't all bark and no bite." Yang Yu said with a grin. "I had already come to that conclusion in fact the Sky Spirit Sect is closer than the Blood Sword Sect as well, so its the easier trek." Yang Yu continued.

Hearing this Yun Zhu was very pleased. "Good, so when is the sect entrance exam?" Yun Zhu asked. "3 months." Yang Yu replied as Yun Zhu nodded. "Then its best we leave, no?" Yun Zhu said. "...Ya the longer we stay here the more likely I am to get caught." Yang Yu said as Yun Zhu looked at him curiously.

"What do you mean caught?" Yun Zhu asked. "I stole this ring, you didn't know?" Yang Yu said. "What?!" Yun Zhu said in shock, Yang Yu didn't reply though as he raced through the alleyways. Seeing this Yun Zhu receded into the ring.

'Maybe the Blood Sword Sect would have been a better fit for him.' Yun Zhu thought as he sat on his chair, within the world of the Crimson Steel Ring.

Simultaneously Yang Yu ran through the streets before reaching an alleyway which had a large hole. "Through here I can get out of the city." Yang Yu said as he covered himself with his robed. After that he crawled through the hole and a few minutes later he made it out.

Once he did he ran into the forest in front of him staying close to the path. This way he wouldn't lose his way, but he also wouldn't be caught.

As he looked back he gazed at Dawn City, the city he had lived all his life in up till now. "Goodbye." He muttered before racing off down the path.
