Slow Work

Ian and Avalyn sit in the car quietly as he drives, his eyes glancing at her every now and then. He needs to set rules, which sounds crazy, but right now, he does to keep her safe.

"Right, so tonight. We will likely be sitting eating for a couple of hours Avalyn, talking and such, not business. Whatever you do during the meal, do not mention business, work, or anything like that. He keeps it personal and light. Afterwards, people will be talking and walking around. I will then myself sit with him and talk about his deals with Cain. I will agree to them and more if it ensures he leaves you out of everything." Avalyn shakes her head.

"Don't agree to things that drag you into it, Ian, if he wants me you trying to pull me out won't work will it?" Ian nods laughing slightly.
