What big secret lurks underneath this scheming System? ================ Excerpt ================ "I'm not a sophisticated cook; my home cooking is so-so." "I can cook just fine." "Please split the house chores. With my guardianship duty, it's impossible for me to do the housekeeping alone." "Do you think I can't pay for cleaners?" Chiaki looked up from beneath her long lashes. "And lastly, um, don't force me in bed without my consent." There is No Lance in This Chapter

As the hustle of the New Year grew busier, Chiaki didn't have time to enjoy herself like the rest of her household. She understood the euphoria and the overall festivities, but she also had to make a chronicle of the year's past incidents; each Guardian was expected to do so. The chronicle had to be submitted anytime in the year's first week. With Chiaki's experience where she had to stay for almost the whole week in the Spring family residence with the extended family members, she preferred to write it before the long holiday, lest she had no time to work on it during the year end's days and risked getting scolded by the elders for submitting it late.

That was her nightmare. It would truly make an inauspicious beginning of the year.

Chiaki sighed as she typed on the laptop; the floating holodev flickered in and out, showing a slideshow of the pictures and reports from the past twelve months.
