"But it was amazing to me. I don't have that much experience with other people, so to me, it's impressive."
"Well, if you say so."
After that, he was a bit silent as he seemed to be focusing on something.
I just sat on the bench and waited until he was ready.
After a few minutes of waiting, he finally finished what he was doing.
"Sorry for making you wait, but the job is finally done. And you know what that means, I would guide you to the faction base and show you around."
"Are you sure it is done? I thought that there was a lot of other stuff that needed to be completed. Like the buildings and things."
"You don't have to worry. What you did earlier was quite enough. Also, it's not a big deal plus it's not like I have done this sort of thing before. So I am pretty excited to finally have a member that will join my faction. And you know, I do need some help."
When Kaido said that, I was aware that I was the first member who joined the Builder Faction. So Kaido must be thrilled that he has someone joining his faction.
I stood up from the bench, "Well then, let's get going, shall we?"
"Yes, let's go."
With that, both of us were off and we headed towards the faction base.
As we headed there, we made a little talk along the way, not like I talked much, most of the talking was Kaido.
But then I remembered something, I had a few questions that needed an answer.
"Kaido, can I ask a question?"
"Go ahead, what's wrong?"
"Do you mind telling me how the out-of-bounds town is created? How did it feel to be the first people to establish an out-of-bounds town?"
"Oh that, it was a depressing time before this town was created. Like the deleted player character here just accept their fate to be deleted by the deletion monster."
Erina did tell me all about that before but there's one thing that I am curious about. About the deletion monster. And since Kaido did survive in that time, I'm sure he knows a lot more than what most people know.
"That is true. By the way, what is the deletion monster?"
"Deletion Monster? Well, they are monsters that were created by the system. I don't know what they are or how are they created, but what I do know is they were meant to erase data from the game. We are just a pile of useless data that the system wants to delete, thus the deletion monster was created to eliminate the unwanted data. However, the deletion monster isn't like a normal monster in the actual game as they are far stronger."
"But how do you know that the deletion monster could be killed? Isn't we as unwanted data couldn't interfere with something important like the deletion monster as that's the main reason why the system created the deletion monster."
"Yeah, you're right. But the thing is, we were lucky that we had a few talented individuals on our side. The person who discovered the deletion monster's weakness was the one who helped the others, he's a pretty high-level warrior with a vast amount of knowledge and the leader of the Adventurer Faction. He was the one that led all of us to victory and managed to create a barrier to protect the town."
Hearing Kaido saying that, it's different from what I heard. I thought Kaido was the one who led all of the people here to fight against the deletion monster. It is quite strange.
"Aren't you the one who led the people here to victory? Like that what all of the people been saying, that the leader of the builder faction was a legendary hero."
"Me? A legendary hero? No, no, no, no, no. That's not true, I am not that kind of person, plus I never lead people or anything. The only thing that I do is help a few people around." He paused for a bit before resuming, "You could say that the only part that I contributed was building this town and a few houses."
"But that does count, doesn't it? If not, then you wouldn't be considered a legend, or should I say, the hero."
"No, I am not a hero... I did fight during those times but it's not like I make a huge impact. I was just a random person who got involved, it's the same goes for the others too. We are all just a group of random people." He said that.
"Are you sure you're not the one? People have been saying that you were the one who gave people hope and courage to fight against the deletion monster and also the one who created the faction and all. But then again, maybe they got the wrong person."
"Yes, it's the wrong person. Yumeji was the one who did all of that like his words were the ones that gave people hope and courage, he was the one that led us to victory, and the one that created the faction and things."
"So Yumeji is the name of the one that created the Adventurer Faction and the hero on all of this? I guess he's the real legend, and a really strong person if he manages to fight off the deletion monster. I never meet him yet but maybe one day I could meet him."
"I doubt you can meet him that easily, he's the head leader of the Adventurer Faction. It's a busy job, but who knows, you might get the chance someday." He said that to me.
But still hearing all of it does make me quite surprised. I mean I thought Kaido was the one who was the hero. It seems like the words that have been spread among the people here were false.
Though why would people never know of this? I mean I am sure that these false legends of Kaido would be heard by the original legend himself. And yet that Yumeji guy never did anything to correct what's wrong.
Does he simply not care about what people have been saying? Like someone is stealing his glory and everything from him.
Kaido realizes that I am in my thoughts and seems to read my mind perfectly as he states something. Just to give me clear up any thoughts that I have currently.
"You must be thinking about how I became the legend right? Well Yumeji is one of my old friends back when we were trying to establish this town, I'm sure he's the one that spread the rumor around. I mean he's the type of person that would do that kind of stuff, so I'm pretty sure he was the one that did this. Though I have no idea why he did this, but I am sure he has his reasons."
'So Kaido was just the normal guy back then. He's not a hero or anything like the other people thought. But still, this does leave me with a question.'
"If Yumeji was the one, why did he choose you to become the legendary hero? I mean I'm sure there are other people as well that are stronger during those times. Like he could've chosen the strongest warrior or the smartest person."
"Well, I don't have the answer. He did have a few reasons for why he did this, though it's not like he ever told me."
"I see, so you have no idea why."
"Yep, that's pretty much the only thing I know. Sorry."
"No, it's fine. Like I am pretty sure it's a personal reason of his, so you have no control over that. But still, it's quite surprising to learn the truth behind the legend."
"Yeah, you can say that again. I hope people would stop believing that crap of the story and people would stop thinking that I am the legendary hero at all." He said that as he let out a sigh at the end.
"But you still are." I said that as I continued, "You did build up the town after all, so you deserve the credit."
"Thanks. Though I am not a hero and just a normal guy who happens to know how to build. So yeah, I'm not the best or the most amazing person." He said that as he laughed.
As we talked a bit more, we soon arrived at the faction base.
We are standing at the front of the faction base. The base itself looks pretty normal to me like it was nothing that amazing compared to the one that the Adventurer Faction has. It's pretty much plain, with no special decorations, and not that big.
"Well then, here's our faction base. And since you are officially a member of the faction, let me give you a bit of a tour around the base."
"Sure, it's a great idea. I would like to learn a bit more about the faction."
"Good. So, let's start."
And with that, he began showing me around.
