Dewitt's eyes fell on her, dimming instantly.

He seemed to be seriously thinking about something, then said to Shirley evilly, "I don't know what tricks you played on my father to have him willingly hire you, but I do regret kicking you out that day."

Shirley's chest clenched.

"About that day..." Shirley felt it necessary to clarify the matter. "I was only in your room because my ex-employer set me up. Though you were really an a*shole that night, kicking me out was the right thing to do, so you don't need to feel guilty..."

"Who said I was guilty?" Dewitt interrupted her with a sneer.

Shirley was stunned for a moment. "Weren't you?"

Dewitt could not help rolling his eyes. This woman was truly dense. "I regret not f*cking you the other night, otherwise this wouldn't have happened today!"

Truth be told, Dewitt had already known about Jaden's little schemes.

He just never expected his father would take advantage of the situation and seek out Shirley.
