Ready for It?

Sitting in the dining table, Selena was nervously playing with her fingers on her lap.

She gulped repeatedly, Killian was acting as if nothing has happened while Alexa was casually looking at her, her lips were curved with a tease, making her nervous even more.

She won't know what to do if Alexa suddenly blurted that Kilian kissed her, if that happens, then it would be too awkward to announce her new relationship to her family.

Allowing Killian to kiss her while Alejandro is her boyfriend, she could imagine her family looking at her with a poker face once they find out.

She sighed and picked up her fork. Her auntie loves pasta, so they would have it as a dinner or lunch once a week.

She stared at the small octopus head on her plate, the sauce on her plate is too much that if the octopus was just alive, he could swim around.

She swirled the pasta around the teeth of her fork, slowly, she moved it closer to her mouth.

As she chewed it, she heard Alexa's voice, calling her mom.

"Mommy, who is your first kiss" Selena almost choke on her food, she immediately swallowed it and drank the water from her glass.

With wide eyes, she gave Alexa a glare.

Alexa just gave her an innocent look, "what? I am asking mommy and not you," she said, lips curving tauntingly.

When she turned her sight at her mother, she saw her face paling.

"Mommy, are you ok? Is it daddy?" she blinked, wondering why her mother was looking so nervous.

"Yes,"

"That's not true Daniella," the triplets immediately looked at their father with shock.

"Evan are you still doubting me?" her mother suddenly barked.

"No, but James Park told me something else,"

"Why would you believe that idiot?"

"Then tell me who's your first kiss?"

"Ugh!"

Seeing their parents fighting, the triplets and Louisa suddenly looked at each other, terror was on their faces.

"Alexa, seriously. Why did you ask that?" Leo whispered.

"What? I was just asking?"

"I don't understand why are they fighting. I mean aren't they married for seventeen years? Who still fights over the first kiss?" Ethan said, shaking his head with disbelief.

Meanwhile, Louisa took out the notepad in her sling bag and wrote down, "Mommy was just thirteen when she got her first kiss,"

The triplets were astonished after reading it. Their eyes swelling with shock looked at their parents, still quarreling about the first kiss.

Putting her fork down on her plate, Alexa called out her mother again.

"Mom, you got your first kiss when you were just thirteen? I am sixteen now, can I have mine too?" hope glistened in her eyes, hoping that her mother would back her up this time.

Suddenly her parents became quiet.

A minute later, her father sighed.

"Is it true?" Evan asked. Regret was in his voice.

"Yeah but Alexa, who told you that?"

Alexa pointed at her sister Louisa using her lips and picked up her fork again.

"How did you know that Louisa?" Daniella asked her daughter.

The little girl blinked, then she picked up her notepad and wrote down.

"Killian and Selena kissed"

After everyone read it, all eyes turned at the quiet Selena.

Selena who was struggling to eat the half-cooked octopus suddenly felt strange, she lifted her sight and found her family and Killian looking at her.

She was about to ask if there's something wrong when her eyes saw the notepad on Louisa's hand.

She sighed. "It's just a misunderstanding ok?"

She casually went back to her food when the telephone suddenly rang.

Evan got up and answered it.

"Selena, its Alejandro,"

Selena got up, her heart thumped as she walked towards her uncle standing by the window.

She let out a shaky breath before putting the phone on her ear.

"Alejandro," her voice was low and soft as she called out his name.

"What Alejandro? It's your daddy," hearing her father's familiar voice, Selena's eyes swelled.

She looked at her uncle laughingly walking back to the dining table.

She stomped her feet while her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"Dad," calling him dad has never been weird than now.

"How are you?" he asked.

Selena sighed, knowing the truth was painful but the memories she shared with her father are precious and she would never forget all the good things he had done and been doing for her.

"I am ok,, dad. How are you?"

"I am good. Just feeling lonely since all of my friends are having grandchildren right now. When are you gonna give me one?" hearing her father laughing has made her day, the embarrassment she felt has faded.

"Dad!" Her cheeks blushed, biting her lips she turned to look at the dining table.

The triplets, especially Alexa was chatting to Killian with a radiant expression. She could not hear their conversation but, it must be funny seeing Killian and the triplets laughing together.

"So, the Alejandro guy. Is he your boyfriend? Can you bring him here in France? Is he the guy you've been with on the island?" her father asked without catching a breath.

Selena held the excitement she's feeling by biting her lips.

"Dad! Stop asking questions ok? I will need to ask him first if he has time to meet you. He's a doctor so he's very busy," she chewed on her lower lips, she could still taste the tomato sauce from the pasta she ate.

"Aish! Fine! Fine! but try to ask him if he can have kids. I want to have grandchildren soon. If he can't have kids, then you will need to find another man to marry."

Selena's face went poker. Without giving her responds, she dropped the call.

On the other side, Killian was almost finished with his food when he noticed that Louisa hasn't touched the seafood on her plate and she's only eating the pasta.

"Don't you like seafood?"

Louisa looked at him, her lips formed a pout while her head shook.

Unsure of what to say, Killian went back to his food. To his surprise, Louisa transferred all of her seafood on his plate. He bit his lips, feeling unease.

He could hear the triplets laughing, he sighed and decided to eat it even though his stomach was already bloated.

After the dinner, Killian helped Selena to remove the leftover food from the plate.

He stood next to her by the sink, she hasn't talked to him since dinner and he started to get worried.

"Hey," he elbowed her arm.

Selena looked at him, her face was flat while her lips were pressed together tightly. He wondered if she's still angry.

"Are you angry?"

Selena didn't answer.

"Oi!" he said poking a finger on her right cheek.

"Killian,"

"Yes?"

"Why did you kiss me even though I have told you that I am your brother's girlfriend?"

He was stunned, not by her question but by the coldness of her face. She always blushes in front of him, mostly because he teases her.

"You are not married yet, Selena. I still have a chance," saying that with a smirk, Killian snatched the plate from Selena's hand and shoved it into the dishwasher.

"Please Killian. I really like Alejandro," Selena paused, she felt butterfly just by saying his name.

"No," she continued. Her hand frost under the water flowing from the faucet.

"What?" Killian asked staring deeply at her face.

"I just don't like him. I think I love him," realizing that, she absently giggled. Her eyes sparkled as she stared at the water.

When Alejandro's face pops in her mind, her smile widened.

Unlike Selena's face glowing like a star in the night, Killian's face was dimming. His hand clenched as it rested on the kitchen counter. His eyes stared at Selena's expressions, he could see how her emotion shifted.

He sighed and left the kitchen. Selena's auntie and uncle are not around, not even the kids, it was just him and her.

He shouted his goodbye, and to his shock, the kids replied back shouting 'bye'.

He didn't bid his goodbye at Selena, he doubts she even noticed or heard his goodbye.

He went downstairs, seeing the empty and dark café, he left out a sigh.

He proceeded towards the door. He opened and closed it behind. As he was about to walk towards his motorcycle which was parked across the street, he noticed a woman sitting on the bench next to his motorcycle with a cigarette in her hand.

His eyes narrowed as he strode towards her. The lamp post on the street was flickering, but even so, he could identify the woman.

"Mrs. Su, what are you doing here in the dark?"

Danielle threw her cigarettes to the ground and turned it off using her shoe.

"Could you ask your brother to return my book?"

He frosts. His chest rose and fell with rapid breaths.

"I will," he replied after a long silence.

"There's one more thing,"

"Huh?"

"I need you to steal something for me."

"What is it?" he wondered.

Daniella got up and went closer to him. As she stood in front, she tiptoed and whispered something in his ears.

When Daniella took a step back, Killian sighed. Heart pounded nervously.

"What if I refuse?"

"I am going to slaughter your family in front of you," she grinned, the smile that causes for his skin to shiver.

"Why are you doing this to her?" he curiously asked. His mind blows as he tried to process her request.

Under the moonlight, he could see her face saddening.

"This is the only thing I can do to save her from heartache."

He went quiet. Soon, he watches Selena's auntie as she crosses the road.

Doubt arose in his mind, wondering if he could do her request.
