Traumatized the Children

Medeia grunted. She didn't want to go into that disgusting, smelly mouth of the monster. Who knew how many bugs it had eaten? But saving children was also such tiring work.

[Reminder: Host's current body is weak so you can't fight carelessly]

'Oh, fuck you! How can I beat it if I don't have a strong body!'

[Foul language detected! Penalty minus 20 C-Points]

Medeia's eyes widened as her character score was reduced by 20 points. She only cursed once and the system made her pay a lot!

[Warning: If the C-Point were reduced to zero, Host would be dead]

That's not fair!

The universe would laugh at her if Medeia died a second time just because she couldn't stop cursing!

'Alright, so what can I do to stop the monster?'

[....] the system remained silent, as if it wanted Medeia to solve that matter alone.

'Motherfu—'

Medeia wanted to curse the system more, but instead, she gritted her teeth because she didn't want to die for a stupid reason.

"Fine, I'll find the way."

"Sister Jeanne! Miss Medeia!! Help me!"

"Help! I don't want to be eaten!"

Sister Jeanne tried to get up, but her legs were broken due to hitting the wall too hard. "The hunter will come to save you!"

But no one came. Medeia took a peek over the window and saw a few men lying on the ground with pools of blood beneath them. It looked like they were dead after trying to fighted the Lost.

Hah, weakling.

Medeia didn't have time to think about them because the spider had covered the children with spider-webs, turning them into cocoons before it ate them.

There was no weapon in the church, so Medeia took the iron bar that broke from the ceiling.

She threw it into the air lightly to estimate its weight, then shot it fast into one of the spider's hands.

Medeia hissed as she accidentally sprained her hand. "Fuc—funny how my hand got hurt just because I threw an iron bar."

[Host's body is not designed for fighting. If Host wants to strengthen the current body, Host must level up]

Level up? The system really sounded like a game.

"Arrgghhh!" Medeia turned her focus to the spider. As soon as the iron bar hit one of its hands, the spider lost its grip and dropped a boy.

Medeia immediately ran toward him, catching his body before he hit the floor. She helped him get out of the cocoon and shouted, "Go! Find a safe place and bring Sister Jeanne with you!"

"Miss-Miss Medeia, how about you?"

Medeia ignored his question and pushed him away. "Go! Now!"

The mutant spider opened its mouth wide and screamed loudly. Medeia clicked her tongue and threw a broken chair into its mouth. "Shut up!"

Her brute action infuriated the spider. It moved toward Medeia, but she dodged its attack. She grabbed another iron bar and an oil lamp from the wall.

[Be careful. The children may get sick if you let the spider move while you bring it]

Medeia climbed the stairs and ran to the open hallway on the second floor. "They'd better stop whining if they want to stay alive."

[They are just children, Host. They can get scared and sick easily]

"Oh … poor them." Medeia scoffed at the system, "But hey, it's their problem, not mine."

She stood on the railing and looked down at the spider, which seemed to want to kill Medeia more than it wanted to eat the children.

"System, are you restraining my demon's abilities?"

Since she woke up in that strange place, Medeia wasn't able to use her demon abilities. She even failed to sucked the spider's soul out of its body.

[Yes. The system has restrained Host's demon abilities and physical strength because Host's current can't hold so much power]

[But, don't worry. Host's demon abilities will be unlocked one by one when Host reaches level 15]

Medeia clicked her tongue. "How troublesome."

She didn't ask any more questions and concentrated on the spider that was beginning to annoy her. She held the iron bar with both hands and bit the oil lamp.

Once the spider raised its head and tried to climb the wall, Medeia suddenly jumped from the balcony. She drove the iron bar into the spider's head, plunging the blade deep into its skull.

The disgusting yellow-ish blood spurted out of its head, making Medeia want to throw up because of its foul smell.

The spider screeched in agony and released the children from its hands. All of them hit the floor pretty hard, but they didn't have any injuries.

Medeia dragged them away from the spider before she threw the oil lamp into the spider's open skull.

Flame immediately ignited once the oil touched the spider's blood.

The barrages of information almost made Medeia's head almost explode. She needed time to familiarize herself with the system and to find more information about the planet she lived on.

However, she could do that after she left the burning church first.

"Miss Medeia! Oh, thank God! You're still alive!" Medeia turned her head and saw a red haired-man breaking through the flames and ruins of the church.

[Ding! Ding! The system has detected a potential handsome, kind husband!]

[Name: Simon Bailey

Age: 23

Ability: Metal Transformation (Grade—S)

Handsome Value: 75/100

Kind-Hearted Value: 87/100]

[Do you want to accept him as your potential husband? (Yes/No)]

Medeia grimaced when she realized the system would pop up whenever it spotted a handsome man.

But the interesting part was that she also could know their ability in advance.

'No.' she decided without thinking much further.

[Why not??? Doesn't he look decent enough?]

'He's too young for me.'

[If you don't accept him as your potential husband. Do you want to make him your second choice? (Yes/No)]

'No.'

One kind man was a blessing, but two or more were disasters.

[Whyyyy???? Isn't it great to have many men before you get married?]

Medeia was too stunned to speak. She didn't expect the system to act like a hoe.

'Stop talking nonsense when you use a little girl's voice. You disgust me.'

[Do you want to change the system's voice? (Yes/No)]

'Yes'

[Ding! Ding! The system has successfully changed its voice]

Medeia let out a sigh of relief as the system sounded like a grown woman.

"Miss Medeia! Are you alright?!" Simon shook her shoulders when Medeia didn't say anything.

Medeia swatted his hands away, saying, "I'm fine, but the children may be traumatized."

Since she killed the spider, the children have not spoken or cried. The system had warned her that they might be easily frightened, but she didn't know the effect would be so deadly.

"You … you kill that mutant?" Simon pointed his finger to the burned spider.

"Yes. It's not that strong." Based on the body's memory, she knew that Simon was one of the high-grade hunters in the village.

Unfortunately, he was hunting for food outside the village when the spider came. "You're late."

Simon looked at the spider for a long time, then whispered, "Impossible ... you've never even killed a Grade-F mutant before."

Medeia raised one of her eyebrows. "Are you underestimating me?"

Simon widened his eyes. "No! Of course, no! I just feel shocked because you can kill it."

"Well, let's say ... I suddenly get enlightened after waking up from the coma." Medeia patted Simon's shoulder several times before she carried the youngest children. "Come on, the church will collapse soon."

Simon immediately picked up the rest of the children and followed Medeia. The villagers were already gathered outside, waiting anxiously for the children and Medeia to come out.

Sister Jeanne's legs weakened as she saw they were alive. The children dashed to her and cried loudly, as if they finally found their safe place.

"Go now." Medeia wanted to put down the little girl, but she clutched onto her clothes so tightly. "Let it go."

Instead of releasing her grip, the little girl buried her face in Medeia's chest and trembled slightly. She was no more than four years old, but she had experienced something terrible.

Medeia sighed. She patted her back lightly. "You are safe now."

As she heard those words, the little girl started to cry. Tears rolled down her round cheeks and she rubbed her runny nose in Medeia's clothes.

Her cry sounded like a nuisance, but Medeia felt a little bit relieved when the little girl let out her emotion. At least, Medeia didn't make her lose the ability to cry.

She murmured beside her ears, "There. There. You need to cry more so the system will not punish me for ruining your childhood."
