Survival Evolved: Incarnation

*ALL CHAPTERS ARE FREE* With little to no explanation for their wiped memory, several survivors, referred to as Arkians, wake up on a beach on what seems to be Earth. These survivors have many differences, but the most defining one is Sky; The one with a White Stone on the back of his left hand. What kind of journey will Sky undergo because of this White Stone? My Cover Artist's Twitter is @Bombyixmori, follow if you like their work! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Warnings: 1. Survival Evolved is meant to take place through the eyes of a teenage boy (mainly), meaning that some things he doesn't pick up on or connect in his mind are done ON PURPOSE. 2. Survival Evolved often describes gore/wounds in a gruesome way. There are many scenes in which slavery, human trafficking, or torture are talked about, so read with caution!

White Stone Brawl

--Sky's Perspective--

"WHAT IS IT WITH YOU PEOPLE?!" I screamed. My stone started to flash red.

"YOU CAN'T LET ME LIVE MY LIFE WITHOUT HUNTING ME?!" I yelled out again, the volume started to get higher and higher as I kept talking, but it was necessary, otherwise, Zeal couldn't hear me.

"You corrupt your White Stone! I know you investigated that statue! You were told not to, and you did it anyway!" Zeal explained to me. I clenched my fist, keeping my same volume as I stared at the irritating man.

"My friends were going to die if I didn't! I did what I had to do as their leader, and I don't regret it!" I told him. back. I could hear laughing, what was so funny?

"You're not supposed to value people as expendable as those weak Arkians. They don't have a White Stone, they're expendable, they're meant to all die in order to push you to the top of the list! But this time it'll be different." Zeal told me.

What the hell was he talking about? The rage in my body started to push itself out of my throat,

"Did you just call the people I love 'expendable'?!" I shouted at him. He was really getting under my skin.

"It's the truth. What are they good for? What can they do that you can't?" I began to walk forward, not checking if the ice was stable. I knew this was stupid, but I couldn't stop moving my body! It was like I was on autopilot right now.

I soon found the strength to plant my feet into the ground about ten feet from where I used to be standing.

"What does he mean expendable? We are all meant to die?!" Dani attempted to ask, but these White Stones felt too pretentious to answer her, I assumed.

"Your life hasn't, and will never have any meaning, girl." Zeal said. I anticipated the next System Message, warning me of danger. Just as those familiar words came up, a blur of somebody's body shot right in front of me.

I blocked the attack, sliding my sword against his own as he flew past me at incredible speeds. I couldn't even fathom that attack; how did he do that?

I turned my back, keeping my eye on him. He wore a blindfold over his eyes, but he held the knife like he knew where I was… what the hell? As I kept my eyes on the White Stone who just flew into me and then passed me, I could slightly hear footsteps against the ice sheet. Then, he was bait.

They were taking advantage of the fact that I only had half of my vision available.

As I began to turn my head, I realized the second I took my eyes off of him, he'd charge in and take me out… what can I do?

In theory, I could take his attack and block it. If he charged in while the one behind me did, they'd collide through my body… or I could jump out of the way and have them do that anyways.

That... I want to make them collide with each other. I just need the people behind me to get closer.

The pitter-patter of their steps got closer and closer to my back when I finally remembered my Stone's ability.

"SKY! BEHIND YOU!" Carl yelled out. I kept my head straight in front of me and rose my left hand:

[RECALLING ARMAMENT…]

I pulled the Fast Stone's weapon towards me as I turned my head and dodged to the right, pushing my body as fast as it would go. I slid against the ice and regained my footing.

Just as I suspected, their unorganized attack forced the Fast Stone to collide with Zeal and cause him to fall over on the ice right past my original position. I silently thanked Domin for helping me learn the skill of critical thinking.

I held his knife in my hand, looking over it. I tried getting Zeal's weapon, but I was met with another message:

[System Alert: Cannot Recall Armament… Cooldown – 4:56]

A five-minute cooldown… so I couldn't use it for five minutes.

"Resistance is futile, Corrupt Stone!" Zeal shouted.

"The name is Sky, address me like that." I heard the Fast Stone gasp after I said that.

"Zeal… is this…" Zeal silently nodded at the Fast Stone's comment.

What were they talking about?

They closed the distance on the ice against me once more and I used my sword to clash with the Fast Stone, who didn't use his ability. If I have a cooldown, I wonder if he does too…

I pushed forward, ignoring Zeal completely. I had to take this man down before he got his speed! But as I attacked him and he dodged, something erupted in my mind. If I killed this man, I would take away all of his memories and feelings… I couldn't do that! This thought snowballed against Raven… I took away these things from him… why is it just now connecting?!

I'm a murderer… I deserve to die…

Shit, what am I thinking at a time like this?! I'm distracted, Zeal's going to hit me!

[WATCH OUT!]

The sudden burst of words in my eye caused me to turn my body toward Zeal. He held a whip-like sword, with sharp blades on each of the protruding ropes from the handle.

He slashed and I turned my back. He didn't hit my face, but he tore the skin on my back brutally. Blood poured out… that weapon hurt way too much!

I retreated with warm liquid falling down my back onto the sheet of ice.

"Bossman! What can I do to help?!" Ullr yelled out to me. I held out my hand.

"They can't kill me! I can see the Corruption Message in his eyes!" I yelled back with a smile. Zeal covered his left eye.

"You're at a disadvantage… that was meant to stop me, wasn't it?" I asked him as I stood up. This pain was blinding, almost like a sharp, yet dull pain that wouldn't go away. Zeal stood silent with a look of disgust. I hit it right on the dot. I couldn't help but smile.

The thought of being a murderer slipped away as my stone finally turned into a solid red color.

"What an unfair disadvantage… I can kill you, but you can't touch me!" I shouted out at him again. Zeal smiled.

"Don't be so sure of that… look where you are." He told me.

Where I am...? What, surrounded? On this damn Isle?

On...

[SYSTEM ALERT: DANGER! DANGER! DANGER!]

I dodged to the left and the ice sheet under me instantly collapsed into nothing. Only a small circle around my body, but enough to cause me to slip. The Fast Stone came charging in again, and I willingly took a hit. He couldn't kill me, so this can't be fatal. I truly am playing with the devil thinking like this. I quickly caught a glimpse of two White Stones still on the beach. Xian, and Orion. Why weren't they attacking?
