I SEE YOU CHRIS...

What if...what if next time their distance of separation was lengthened? Double work...plus wastage of time too.

"Barbie said you are close, are you really close?" Vin asked.

"The map shows yes."

Cole replied, cluelessly looking up at the zoomed view of the map as he continued to walk regardless of the highlighted yellow route on the ground.

Cole continued walking as fast as he could. The place was empty and as far as he could see there was no one in the nearby distance. Where were the enemies?? He though.

Despite of that, he resumed in looking around trying to see if anyone was hiding on the crease of the sandy ground and aiming at him. He moved over very very cautiously.

On being this close to his friend, he did not want to get shot and repeat the damn process again. He just wanted to get to Chris as fast as he could and then unite with the others as well.

With the gentle cool breeze blowing around in the surrounding, Cole followed the yellow path, the amount of distance he crossed kept reflecting in the map in front of his face.

He increased his pace of walking trying to get there beforehand but then he knew that he would only tire himself out if he walked in that speed. Plus he also had to watch out for the enemies.

"Alert mode initiated! Watch out! Enemies ahead!"

And out of nowhere bullets started to fire. Cole immediately fell on his front on the ground and pointed his M416 to knock the enemies one by one. A few killed a bunch of others.

Cole's eyes widened to it's length when he aimed his M416, laying flat on the ground and shooting away. He thanked at his instinct of falling down right away for if he did not do that, then his life was in danger.

The bullet could have pierced right through his chest and he could have died for good. Thanks to his immediate use of his mind. He did not even know how that idea struck him. It was like an involuntary action performed by him.

Perhaps it was what they call it an instinct for survival of the fittest. Nevertheless, Cole was grateful and carried on knocking down enemies one by one.

He crawled a few distances, watching his back. He had to keep his eyes in the back for not to get shot. Here the people were madly and crazily were on each other's throats. He only prayed if he could make it all clear out of here.

It was a shock how and where these many people appeared from out of nowhere. A while ago, the path was clear and empty. Then how the hell did these many of them got here without him noticing it.

He took a U-turn and fired the three bullets at the boys in their underwear and started crawling forward once again. He knew that he could not stand ideal in one place and shot them all... He needed to keep moving forward and escape this part of the path as fast as he could.

Because the number of the people was crazy. Why did the map lie saying that the amount of the enemy would be just a handful but which was totally opposite to the circumstance that he was facing right then?

If this was how the semi-free route was, he could not help but imagine how the red route would be? He thanked God for not making him chose the red one for there was one point when he almost...almost decided on that one thinking to get faster to Chris but then gave up.

Everything probably would be red there. Not a spot would be left on the golden sandy ground that would not be red. Thanks to God, he took the yellow route. And did not bait on his ego trying to cross the red route.

Once the path was clear, Cole resumed crawling because if he stood up then a few of them who escaped from getting killed, would notice him and try to knock him down and it would be useless to fight with them when they were already moving out of there.

Cole did not want to waste his bullets because he had no backups. He did not get anything to collect or even thought of collecting trying to figure things out. So he needed to use his bullets judiciously.

The once yellow route turned green indicating that there were no enemies anymore. That made Cole breathe in relief.

"Route is cleared! Stride ahead!"

Cole stood up once this message was declared and started walking on his feet. He looked up to see on the map and it showed a few more steps and he would reach where Chris was.

It was difficult to see with naked eyes in the front because the heavy sandy wind was blowing. It made it a bit hard to look through. So Cole could only rely on the map.

"Barbie says the route is clear!" Vin said.

"Yes, yes. It is clean now. A moment ago it was crowded as hell. " Cole replied.

"Did you kill all of them?" Matty asked.

"No no..no. Wait first estimate how many were jumbled up there." Vin questioned.

"It was probably fifty of them. It could be less. I only killed those who were an immediate threat to me. " Cole answered.

"I knew...I knew it. He could never kill all. " Vin let out.

"Vin, I cannot end all my bullets firing up for anything." Cole reasoned as he continued walking.

"True. And here I wonder how many bullets Vin has now?" Matty snorted.

"I answer to that being very close to zero," Chris commented.

Everyone laughed except for Vin who just grunted out in annoyance for every one of them was making fun of him, pulling his irritated and annoyed leg.

And suddenly Cole said something which stopped them all, silence masked over.

"I see you, Chris."
