Supreme Thinking System

Earth 1990, somewhere in Central Park. A man was walking around with his dog, when he encountered something sinister. There were tons of Monster-like creatures running around and he got killed instantly. When the Monsters started coming out of nowhere and turned the wild into their habitat, no one could fight them. Tanks couldn't penetrate their skin and no sword, no matter how sharp, was able to slice them. Systems emerged and people awakened, 30 years later people were living in harmony in the cities, with Monsters slowly getting suppressed. Elijah is a high-schooler in these times with people who now use their abilities for their own benefit. Will he be able to get successful like the rest, and live a lavish life? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The cover isn't mine, I got it from 冰語 陳 on Pinterest.

Elijah was already having thoughts about how his ability was incredibly good for fighting, but his fight wasn't done yet.

The Monster rushing at him saw his chance, this human wasn't looking at him and he would make him pay for the wound he received!

Approaching Elijah at a pace of well over 45 km/h, the Monster was next to the human within a second.

The Monster would make sure the human couldn't dodge his next attack and ignored defence, going on a full offensive.

The Monster was sure this stupid human couldn't dodge now, his wingspan was larger than the speed Eli could move at.

"R*tard." Elijah said with a smirk on his face.

"Not caring about defence was the biggest mistake this Monster had made.

His ability could read movements almost instantly from looking at the muscles the Monsters used and the way it placed its feet.

The moment the Monster attacked, there was a huge gap that was so easy to attack Elijah almost laughed.

Elijah stood completely still, with calm breathing as there were still 30 seconds left on his skill.

He held his sword firmly as he thrusted forward with will force.

He saw the Monster's eyes constrict as it realised that its death had come, and the reaper was the human standing in front of him.

The sword pierced the Monster right in its heart, which was actually a lucky shot since Elijah had no idea where this Monster's heart was at.

It died, there wasn't any struggling as it died the moment he was pierced.

Elijah didn't feel any pain from killing a creature for the first time, these Monsters had killed at least a billion people during the Apocalypse.

They deserved it.

While the teenager stared at the dead body, the system interface appeared before him.

[Level-up!]

[Kill a Tierless Monster]

[Rewards: +1 Thinking stat]

Elijah stared at the interface for a while checking every message that appeared.

'First level-up means I can increase one of my stats with a stat point.' Elijah was excited to get stronger.

'The most surprising thing is the reward, can I upgrade all of my stats by completing quests, or is it only the Thinking stat?' He didn't know but he would probably find out in the near future.

After pondering about his System some more, Elijah started thinking about what stat he should upgrade.

'INT is definitely a no-no, I only have 1 skill for now that I can use once a day and it's only 10MP, while I have 20.'

'Strength is pretty unnecessary as well, since my sword already increases it by 2.'

Elijah found Charisma to be pretty useless as well, it might come in handy in the future if he was famous but right now, he didn't care.

'Agility it is! It's the only thing I need right now since I didn't get hit even once in the fight, so Constitution isn't very necessary either.'

By process of elimination, Elijah added his stat point to Agility.

Some people saved their stat points to add them when they found out what they lacked, but Eli found that a dumb idea.

What if you died because you didn't use it early enough, and a Monster surprise attacked you?

After using his stat point, Elijah checked his stats to get a clear view of his new strength.

Eli stored the Monster corpse in his inventory, since it would sell for a bit of money that he wouldn't mind having.

Then, he made his way back to the entrance.

His skill had run out and he knew he didn't stance a chance against a Monster without it.

His normal vision didn't have the ability to spot all the tiny movements of a Monster while also focusing on his own.

Being as quiet as possible, while staying hidden as best as he could, Elijah made his way back to where he came from.

Since he hadn't gone very far from the entrance in the first place, it didn't take very long and he hadn't spotted any Monsters on his way back.

Getting in to Central Park was harder than it was to get out of it.

Being in the centre of NYC, the Park was the only danger zone there for the millions that lived in the vicinity.

A lot of people were trying to get in, and as everybody was checked, it took a while.

On the exit however, you could just walk out as you pleased.

Once outside, the first thing Elijah did was call his mother to tell her he was okay, and that he didn't die.

Additionally, he got his first kill and levelled-up!

Elijah didn't go home directly, he first walked towards the Hunter shop close to the danger zone.

He sold his Monster corpse there and received 250 dollars for it, which Elijah found a lot.

This was a Tierless Monster, and many of these were hunted each day.

"There you go, see you next time young man!" The cashier said as Elijah left the shop.

Elijah constructed a plan on how he would try to level-up as quickly as possible.

'It's impossible to fight two Monsters at once, since I can only keep my eyes on one.'

'I only have one skill, so I'll start by hunting a single Monster everyday until I get a new skill.'

You could obtain new skills by leveling-up.

At level 10, you got your second. Level 25 would unlock a third.

To unlock a fourth, one had to get to level 50. A fifth would be unlocked at level 100.

And lastly, the top Players in the world got their sixth skill when they reached level 300.

Elijah was determined to reach the top, his family had never been the richest, while his mother worked very hard.

His father had left him when he was still too young to remember it, so his mother was alone.

'Can't sit still, have to keep working!' Elijah thought as he steeled his determination.
