24. Cultivation Resources
In the forest ,the white wolf became a lot more conscious of its surroundings.It moved slowly while using all its senses to scout in all directions .
A few kilometrs into the forest ,the wolf saw a demonic rabbit.
It was chewing on some roots which it held in its front paws .It had extremely long ears that pointed towards the sky .It had red eyes and a fluffy tail .It was just five meters long .It ate its roots while looking around left and right .The only reason the wolf was able to see it was because the white wolf had stronger sight letting it see the rabbit from two kilometers away.
"Lets start with you."thought the wolf before it unleashed its unbelievable speed .When the wolf reached one kilometer away from the wolf ,the rabbits ears twitched and immediately it accelerated as though it had already been storing all its energy in its legs .Its speed surprised the wolf for a moment letting the rabbit create some distance between them .
The rabbit was very intelligent ,it had chosen an escape route that favoured small body types and hindered the movement of large predators .These obstacles slowed down the wolf further but they were still not enough to stop the white wolf .The white wolf passed through these obstacles using brute strength .It destroyed trees and rocks until when it caught up to the rabbit and used its front right leg to pierce through its fat stomach using its claws.
The rabbit let out a shriek of sound that made the wolf's ears stop working for a few seconds .When the wplf looked ahead to where the wolf was fleeing ,its saw a hole that went deep into the ground .The dying wolf looked at the hole with a longing gaze and it prepared to die but then it remembered thatr it had led this terrible crezture back to its home were its family lived.The look in its eyes changed to that of great sorrow for ti knew that its entire family would be following it soon.
In that moment ,it felt great anger towards this creature that hunted creature that are probably not even large enough to fill its mouth.
What it did not know was that the wolf was not hunting for food but for cultivation materials.The wolf started circulating it cultivation technique and quickly ,white qi began leving the rabbit and entering the wolf's body.
The energy entered its source core before spreading out into its body .The wolf circulated the qi and directed it into its bones ,purifying and strengthening them .
The rabbit lost weight rapidly and soon ,nothing was left but a skeleton covered in rabbit fur and the screams of the rabbit that seemed to echo in the place .
The wolf sat down to prepare for the pain that comes after absorbing the qi of another being but the pain never came .The wolf was pleased by this .When it had absorbed the Huang family member ,it experienced great pain .The wolf hypothesized that the pain was beacuase of the massive difference in cultivation level .In some books it had read ,it was written that ones soul becomes stronger with cultivation.The wolf's thi\nking thus became that if it were to absorb a creature with a stronger soul than it ,it would experience great pain and probably even die .This was the reason why it had chosen to come back to the Endless Forest since in this forest ,it could hunt creatures of its own level withpoiut any hinderances .
The wolf also felt that cultivation obtained through stealing qi from an other living being was a bit unstable and that is why it decided to make its culktivation stable using quantity .This is why it used the qi it absorbed from the demonic rabbit to cultivate as thiugh it were in the bone forging realm. In the forest ,there were many powerful beings and thus the perfect place for the white wolf to hunt for cultivation material.
