Chapter 6 - Going Shopping

After regaining his freedom Lux thought about going shopping for buying his academy uniform and some books.

He has some money given to him by Leita. He is grateful to her as she helped him regaining his freedom.

After thinking about the necessary materials he had to buy he left the academy through the front gate.

He had come to a market located in the city. The city where the academy is situated is the same city where the king castle is situated known as King's Landing.

[AN: I know it's from GOT but what can I say I like the name]

The market has lot of people from different races shopping or selling goods there. The market is pretty famous as it is also one of the attraction for people coming from different towns or cities.

Lux saw many potions sold there. Potions have different effects according to the potion used. It can help a magician in critical times, so the price and value of potions are very high.

He looked at the potions but did not buy them as he had to first get all the materials required for attending academy.

He came to a book shop and saw many books neatly lined on the shelf.

The book store is a medium sized book store.

When he entered the book store he saw a middle aged man standing behind the counter. The man has a smile on his face as he greeted him, " Welcome dear customer, do you want a specific book or want to first take a look around?"

"I want some books related to different magical elements and also do you have any spell book"?, Lux asked the book store clerk.

"We have some spell books for adept stage mage and grand mage. Do customer want me to show him the spell books?"

"Please do so", said Lux and followed the man who take Lux to a room on the first floor.

He show him the spell books the shop had.

Any mage can use his mana to coat his body with different elements but if he/she want to use that mana directly then a spell is needed

A spell is performed by understanding the incantation required to perform any particular spell.

As there are different stages for cultivation for mages and magic swordsman, there are also ranks in spells.

Mostly the adept stage mage from 2 star to 6 star can perform upto rank 2 spell.

As spell required mana to cast the higher the spell the more mana is required, so it also depends on the user cultivation base.

People mana is stored into a place inside their body known as core. This size of core and mana inside the core increases with increase in cultivation.

The mana flows through the body through many threads. These threads are like blood vessels but with mana flowing through them.

An adept first star mage has only 2 -6 mana threads so it is almost impossible for them to use spells. As rank increases different many threads start forming in the body. With more many threads it's easier to use more mana.

Lux had noticed during his fight that his body has innumerable number of mana threads but as he is only adept 2 star mage he can only use limited amount of mana but as he had seen his mana reserve is more than most of the 2 star adept mages. His mana reserve is more because of his core which is bigger almost compared to adept 5 star mage.

He knew that it is because of SMJ. This also made him wondered how this kind of treasure was left outside his shed.

He brought some spell books which are - rank 1 lightning-bolt [ lightning type magic- throws sparks of lightning ] , rank 1 blind spell [ dark type magic - blinds enemy for duration of 10 seconds ] , rank 2 spell thunder-shock [ lightning type magic - shocks the enemy with lightning sparks and also has a chance for paralysis ] .

He also saw another spell book though it was empty. He was about to leave the book alone when the SMJ in his pouch bag react to the spell book. Seeing this he decided to buy that book too.

After buying the spell books and other books he paid 57 silver coins and left the store.

After that he want to a clothing shop to buy his academy uniform and also buy some new clothes for himself. After paying another 15 sliver coins he left the store.

He was about to go back to the academy when his sight fell on a blacksmith shop near the edge of the market.

The shop was nothing special just a simple regular shop. He stopped and saw a robust tall man hameiing the iron material. The blacksmith is of the beastkin race. He is from the bear lineage of beastkin.

Lux sight also fell on a black sword hanging in the shop.

"How much for that sword ?",Lux asked the blacksmith pointing towards the black sword.

"You sure you want that sword. That sword is something one of my worker found in the woods. It's nothing special, just a ordinary sword."

"Yeah I will buy that how much is it?"Lux asked.

"It's only 3 silver coins."

Lux paid the money and went back to the academy.

When he reached the academy it's already evening so he went directly to his shed and took out the spell books and the sword.

He also took out SMJ. As he took out the SMJ the empty spell book and the black sword disappeared into the it. He was shocked and decided to look inside the book.

After he opened SMJ he found himself in the same place as before with stars swirling around him.

He looked around and saw the black sword. He goes towards the black sword and touched it.

As he touched the sword, information regarding the black sword barge into his mind.

Seeing the information Lux feel amazed by the capacity of SMJ. He choose Yes and gave the name to the black sword - Fate-Slayer.

After that the sword shone brightly and he can feel his connection with the sword.

He then look around and found the empty spell book. After touching the spell book he get the spell information which made him startled and shocked.

This spell is truly a terrifying spell.

[ Spell Weaver (rank ?????) - can allow the user to make a spell of its own.

Can be used as long as user has required

mana for the spell to be created ]

Lux was amazed by this skill and immediately began to learn the spell. After some time he learnt the spell.

He did not try the spell. First he start learning the spells he bought from the book.

To use Spell Weaver he needed to have basic understanding for the spell to be created.

As a mage use his spells his expertise/proficiency of that spell increases which can allow the mage to use the spell more easily. Also the power of the spell also increases with increase in proficiency.

As Lux was about to leave he saw a room far away shining brightly in this vast space .

He floated towards the room and as he open the door the room information barge into his mind.
