Part 48

Justen's POV

After a while of Josh driving, he stopped at a restaurant out of town.

"Is this the place?" I asked.

"Yeah," Josh said, turning off the truck.

"It looks nice," I said.

"You haven't even seen inside yet," Josh chuckled.

"Is it fancier inside?" I asked.

"Oh yeah," Josh said. "Because I can afford fancy stuff like that."

"Ha ha," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Anyway, let's just go inside," Josh said.

"Okay," I said, opening the door and hopping out of the truck.

Josh followed suit and hopped out of the truck too.

We walked into the restaurant and the waitress at the podium looked at us.

"Table for two or are your parents coming?" she asked snobbishly.

"Table for two please," I said, grabbing Josh's hand.

The waitress glared at me as she grabbed two menus and led me and Josh to a table.

"There you are," the waitress said, putting the menus on the table. "Let me know if you need anything."

"Can we get a different waitress?" Josh asked.

The waitress rolled her eyes. "Sure," she said. "She'll be right over."

"Thank you," I said as the waitress walked away.

"Man, she was rude," Josh said.

"Tell me about it," I said.

"Let's not let it ruin our night though, okay?" Josh said.

"I was thinking the same thing," I smiled.

"Hello, I'm going to be your waitress for tonight- Wait, JUSTEN AND JOSH?" a familiar girl's voice asked.

"Hi, Bridget," I said, looking up at her.

"Are you two on a date?" Bridget asked.

"Yeah," Josh said.

"You two are adorable. Anyway, what can I get you guys to drink?" Bridget asked, pulling a small notebook and a pen out of the bag around her waist.

"I'll have a Sprite," Josh said.

"And I'll have a water, please," I said.

"A water? How boring," Bridget said, writing down my and Josh's drinks.

"I'm actually not allowed to have any soda for another week or so," I said.

"There's still lemonade though," Bridget said.

"I think I'll stick with my water though," I said.

"Okay, I'll get those right to you," Bridget said.

"Thank you," I said as Bridget walked away.

"So, what's new?" Josh asked.

"I'm pretty sure you already asked me that," I said.

"Well, what is new?" Josh asked.

"You already know that answer," I said.

"What is it though?" Josh asked.

"Nothing new has happened except for the fact that I was kidnapped and forced to go to a restaurant with some creepy guy," I said jokingly.

"You do know I'm not forcing you to do this, right?" Josh asked.

"I know," I said. "And to be honest, I enjoy this."

"Really?" Josh asked.

"Yeah," I said.

"We should go on dates more often then," Josh said.

"I think we should too," I smiled.
