I sprinted down the street as quickly as my legs could take me. I was already late for my job interview. I couldn’t just turn down this once in a lifetime opportunity. Working in the Villin Group wasn’t a bad choice of place. Oh, what I meant was that it was the best place for me. They could certainly afford to pay me a decent wage—one that would put food on my table and help me pay for Nico’s treatment.

‘‘I’m so sorry, please excuse me…’’ I demanded politely as I ran into a few individuals on my way. I was attempting to make up for lost time, but it appeared that I didn't have much of a chance because there were a few folks walking as slowly as possible in front of me.

This was Raphael’s entire fault! If only he hadn’t offered to drive me to my destination earlier. I could’ve made it on time!
