''W-what are you talking about?'' I stutteringly asked, taking my eyes away from Raphael. ''Didn’t you talk to my family about our arranged marriage? What do you need to know more about me?'' I was completely unaware that Raphael had these kinds of thoughts running through his head. It only meant that from the day we got married, he had already suspected that we had betrayed him.

I closed my eyes, and leaned back against my seat. I didn’t want him to see the feeling of dread that was starting to form in my eyes. My hands were shaking as I hid them between my thighs.

''Do not make me look like I am a fool. I know you know what I’m talking about…’’ his voice held a dangerous softness. ''Tell me the truth now, or I’ll send you and your whole family to jail! You don't want me to do that, right?’’

I opened my eyes wide in fear. How had he guessed? What had I done wrong? Did he order someone to investigate the White family? All sorts of scenarios raced through my mind.
