[WARNING: Mature Content 18+] "My soul craved yours from the very beginning of time." ____ Theodore Blackwell was the very reincarnation of the Devil yet Eva fell straight into his arms, not knowing that the Devil doesn't come to you with a red face and horns. He arrived in her life as everything she had ever desired... [Excerpt] Instead, a tall man stood there looking like the very reincarnation of the devil himself and Eva felt uneasy as she felt the dark aura around him markedly. He was handsome looking, no, handsome was not enough to describe his appearance. It was hard to describe him as handsome when she had seen no one as attractive as him in her whole life. His hand was in the pocket of his slacks as he walked forward in her direction. When she noticed him coming close to her, Eva took a few steps back until her back met the hard wall behind her. He didn't stop approaching her and Eva held her breath when he entered her breathing space. She was a head shorter than him so he leaned down until their faces were in front of each other. His hand was placed on the wall, right beside her as Eva stared straight into his obsidian black eyes which were darker and deeper than normal human beings. Was this a staring competition, thought Eva as she tried not to blink under his intimidating gaze. By any chance, did he not have the ability to speak? Finally, he opened his mouth to speak. In a smooth tone, he spoke, "You're staring in my eyes." _______ Handsome looks: Triple Check! Evil family relative: Check! Misunderstandings: Check! Power building: Double Check! A/N: This story has a slow-pace beginning and quite a lot of it consists of healing since trauma and panic attacks are discussed in detail. Ten hours earlier,
It was dim in the Enchanted Forest when a dark portal suddenly formed a few spaces above the ground. It sent black sparks when it opened and a man stepped his foot out on the ground, exiting it. The portal closed itself on the man's command, leaving the nearby leaves fluttering at its disappearance.
The man ran a hand through his inky hair, which fell in light waves, covering his forehead. His eyes surveyed the surroundings before he started to walk ahead. Only the sound of his feet could be heard, along with the low howling of the wind, which made his hair messier than before.
He traveled deeper into the forest when his black orbs noticed the Moon shining up in the sky. A frown came to settle on his face as he turned his face away so that he didn't have to look at the disgusting thing. The ground seemed to tremble under his feet as he walked on and halted in his steps spotting something strange up in the trees.
A girl was busy climbing up a tree, her silver hair falling to cover her face from being seen by him. His eyes subtly narrowed when he found that she still hadn't noticed him despite the aura that he was excluding. He continued to stare at her when all of a sudden, he felt the heavy stench of blood in the air. His sharp gaze went straight to her leg which was drenched in red blood.
The sweet smell spread through the air and something inside him triggered. His black orbs turned red before quickly shifting to the previous color. His fangs wasted no time in coming out and for the first time in decades, he felt surprised. He had just come back from the Underworld after managing to control his demon. Only a couple of demons had been killed and that had satisfied him quite well. And here just the smell of this girl's blood was driving him off the edge.
Who the hell was she, he asked himself. Curiously, he continued to watch to see what she would do next. He had enough self-control left for him not to climb up the tree and drain every single drop of blood out of her. The girl seemed to have given up trying as he saw her expression become depressed. He noticed her staring up at the Moon and wondered what she thought about it. Did she hate it too like him? He wished she did.
A few seconds later, the girl let go of the tree and he watched her fall backward. Sighing, he turned to leave when he felt his body resisting his actions. His eyes narrowed in displeasure as he tried to move forward but some invisible force kept dragging him back.
He was dragged back, his resistance seemed futile and soon he arrived under the tree where the girl was just about to fall. He looked up and his arms unconsciously stretched out and she fell straight in them making him tighten his hold on her. Theo looked at her face and released a breath. She was beautiful, gorgeous looking with her silky hair falling down his arms.
He gulped, wanting to drop her but his arms grabbed her more securely, not wanting to let her go. His eyebrows furrowed and he stared harder at her face which was growing pale because of her losing blood. She seemed to have fainted and her breathing was low.
All his desire of drinking her blood had long been forgotten and he gently laid her on the ground before tearing a part of his white shirt.
Softly, he wrapped it around her wound after touching the branch which instantly disintegrated after his touch. After making sure, her blood had stopped bleeding, he gathered her again in his arms. His body had refused to let her go and somewhere, he himself was fascinated by her.
"Birdy..." he muttered looking at her before a portal similar to the one before opened up again. He carried her through it and they both appeared in a dark-looking room.
He carried her towards his bed and placed her back gently on the mattress. Leon, who had noticed the King's presence back in his room, knocked on the door. It made the girl move in her sleep and Theo's eyes slightly widened.
In large steps, he reached the door and closed it behind him. He was now face to face with his trusted advisor who looked confused seeing the expression on the King's face. Had he displeased him in some way? And why was his shirt torn so brutally?
"What's wrong?" asked Theodore, his voice hard and cold.
"N-nothing Your Majesty, it was time for you to have your blood-"
"Forget it. Get me a box of first aid. Quickly," he spoke not giving Leon a chance to speak before he shut the door in his face.
Stupefied, Leon turned around slowly. Who did he need a box of first aid for? Leon ordered a maid to bring the box hurriedly and a minute later, he gently knocked on the door.
In a millisecond, the door was flung open and the King reappeared. He took the box without a word before he shut the door again in his face. For the second time! Leon was left with his mouth hanging open as he didn't dare move from his spot feeling paralyzed. Was today said to be cursed? Did his King have a personality disorder?
Meanwhile, back in the room, Theo was struggling to treat the wound. He had carefully managed to open up the cloth he had wrapped around her leg but he didn't know what to do after it. He had never gotten the opportunity to treat himself as his wounds healed automatically. The only person he had treated in his life was... no one.
Damn it, he muttered under his breath. He grabbed the alcohol bottle since he was aware that he had to clean the wound first. As he dabbed the cotton softly on her leg, her brows furrowed in pain. His heart raced as he saw her in pain and he abandoned the idea of doing it himself. Cursing himself for not even knowing how to treat a wound, he again went to the door. Opening it, he saw Leon standing in the same place he had left him.
"Bring a maid who knows how to properly tend to a wound," he ordered and Leon straightened up.
"Are you injured-" he asked detecting the blood on his shirt.
He was interrupted once again, "No, no it's not for me. Fetch a maid quickly."
Leon departed using his fast vampire speed and asked the head maid to come along with him. "It's the King's order," he said before opening the door to the King's room.
The woman entered fidgeting and was more than shocked to see the sight before her. The King. The man who was rumored to be the Devil was stroking a girl's hair as tenderly as possible. Had the earth flipped upside down or did her eyes need to be visited by a doctor?
Theo stood up when he saw the maid and beckoned her forward with his hand. The maid approached when she heard the King whisper, "Speak softly. She's sleeping." he pointed to the girl sleeping peacefully on the bed.
What in the name of... , she hurriedly closed her mouth shut as it had been hanging loosely in shock.
"Her leg is injured. Do you know how to treat a wound?" asked the King in a tense tone.
"Yes, your Majesty. I shall tend to it straight away," she whispered as softly as she could.
Seeing the King nod in affirmation, she approached the lady's leg and carefully sat on the ground. It was the hardest thing she was asked to do in the ten years of her work. The King kept a close gaze on whatever she was doing and whenever the lady flinched in pain, she was severely told to do it gently. She finally sighed after bandaging the girl's leg and got up.
Bowing, the King nodded and she left the room hurriedly as fast as her feet could take her. Hearing the door close, Theo sat back on the bed, beside the girl.
He had noticed the way the maid cleaned the wound, and now he knew how to do it. He discerned a sense of accomplishment which was a new thing to be felt by him.
He had learned to treat a wound all by himself!
He continued to stay by her side all the time. An hour passed by, which soon turned into three which then turned into four.
Eventually, Theo stopped staring at her face and got up to take a shower and change his clothes which had been stained by her blood. He decided to take a bath in a guest room rather than his room. The noise of water running down would disturb her sleep so it was better to leave.
Closing the door softly behind him, he assigned a maid to stand guard on the door. If the lady woke, she was to call him immediately. Scared by the King's dark and serious tone, the maid assured him that she would follow his orders and kept a close gaze on the door with her ear pressed to it.

In the present time, the King was busy twiddling a knife in between his fingers, waiting for the girl to arrive. What was taking her so long? Didn't she know that he was starving himself because of her?
He hadn't touched his glass of blood, waiting for her to arrive. Tapping his fingers impatiently on the table, he finally got up to get a look at what she was so busy doing.
Point to be noted: Birdy made him hella impatient and furious.
