Being Manipulated

Steve felt so bad. His wife had called him several times and even sent him a text telling him her mother was sick and that she needed him, but he couldn't be there for her because he was with Chloe. 

"I'm sorry, Jo," he said as he tried calling her back, but she didn't pick up.

"Steve, how did it get to this?" He groaned in frustration. Before leaving the hospital, he checked on Chloe and see if she was awake yet.

"Steve, I'm sorry," Chloe cried out when Steve walked into her hospital room. Steve went to her bedside, "it's okay," he said to her.

"I am sorry, I didn't know what I was thinking. I shouldn't have done it. I almost killed our baby," Chloe continued to cry. 

"Chloe, it's okay. Stop crying," Steve said, consoling her.

"I was depressed. Nothing made sense to me anymore. I felt like ending it all," Chloe said, sniffling.
