Adelle's mind was clouded, her thoughts guided solely by the yearnings of her heart. She spoke without fully realizing the weight of her question.
"I ... I want to know about Lika. What did you see in her?"
If Ervian had been drinking something, he would have surely spewed it out in surprise at Adelle's unexpected question.
He paused, carefully studying Adelle's expression, unsure if she was genuinely serious about her inquiry.
Her eyes, though clouded with emotions, held a sincerity that he couldn't easily dismiss.
"Pretty please?" Adelle pleaded, her eyes brimmed with honesty.
Ervian sighed, realizing that he had inadvertently gotten himself into a situation he couldn't easily back out of.
He had agreed too quickly, unprepared for Adelle's request. Going back on his word wasn't something that aligned with his values.
Deep down, it pained Ervian to even think about Lika.
