Still threatening me? You must be tired of living!

In the blink of an eye, this woman had run up to Tom and the others.

"You're... Evelyn Harris!!" Sophia quickly recognized the woman before her, her face showing a hint of surprise.

Tom's eyes widened too, a look of astonishment spreading across his face.

He recognized her as well, and quite well at that, because this woman was none other than the CEO of BluePeak Group, the arch-rival of Johnson Group.

Tom had seen Evelyn several times before. Back then, she carried herself like a queen, exuding an aura of unapproachability.

But now, Evelyn was barefoot, wearing only a bra, her body almost completely exposed.

Her hair was a mess, her face dusty, and her body covered in bruises, looking like she had just escaped from some dire situation. She was a sight of utter misery!

"Help, help me!" Evelyn quickly hid behind Tom, crying out loudly, her face filled with terror.

"Ms. Harris, what happened to you? Are you in danger?" Sophia was the first to ask.

Even though they had always been fierce competitors, publicly mocking each other's companies, now stranded on a deserted island, they shared a bond of mutual misfortune. Seeing Evelyn in obvious danger, Sophia wasn't about to kick her when she was down.

"Somebody... someone tried to rape me, and they... they tried to kill me, please, you have to help me." Evelyn was trembling uncontrollably, tears streaming down her face.

"Who wants to kill you?" Sophia asked urgently.

Before she could answer, footsteps sounded from the woods again, and soon a man wielding a stick emerged.

When he saw Sophia and the others, he stopped in his tracks, frowning.

"It's him, he's the one who tried to kill me!" Evelyn pointed at the man, her trembling intensifying.

"Isn't that Daniel Kelly, your company's Marketing Director?" Sophia frowned, recognizing the man.

"Yes, that's him," Evelyn nodded quickly.

From the edge of the woods, Daniel hesitated for a moment, then approached.

"Dude, that woman is my wife, can I take her back with me?" Daniel pointed at Evelyn, asking with a smile.

"I'm not his wife, he's lying!" Evelyn quickly denied.

"Did you hear that? She already said she's not your wife," Tom replied coolly.

Tom knew Daniel was lying without needing Evelyn's confirmation—after all, Evelyn was a widow!

"Dude, how about this, you have your way with her first, and once you're done, I'll take her. That works, right?" Daniel proposed after a moment's thought.

"Sorry, I'm not the kind of beast you are, I can't do such vile things," Tom replied with a smile.

He wasn't foolish. From what Evelyn had said, he had a good idea of what had happened, and he certainly wasn't going to stoop to Daniel's level.

"Dude, you already have two women, and you still want to compete with me? Isn't that a bit greedy?" Daniel asked coldly, his expression turning icy.

"Those two aren't 'my women,' we're just fellow survivors. As for her, if she doesn't want to go with you, you're not taking her by force. Also, don't call me 'brother,' you're not worthy!" Tom was no saint, but he was definitely not the kind to exploit a situation like this.

Seeing that Evelyn was in trouble, he couldn't just stand by and do nothing.

"Kid, I'd advise you to mind your own business, or don't blame me for not being nice!" Daniel's face turned sinister as he heard Tom's intention to protect Evelyn, pointing his stick at Tom with a clear threat.

"Be nasty to me? Ha, make a move and see what happens!" Tom scoffed, reaching to his waist and pulling out a short knife he had found earlier, deliberately flashing the blade.

The gleaming blade caught the light, causing Daniel's face to pale. He had a stick, but Tom had a knife, and if it came down to a fight, he'd definitely be at a disadvantage.

"Fine, you're tough, I'll remember this. You just wait!" Daniel, not daring to make a move, spat out his threats venomously.

"Still threatening me? Looks like you're tired of living!" Tom's eyes flashed coldly, and he made a move as if to go after Daniel.

Startled, Daniel feared for his life and took off running, faster than a rabbit, and disappeared into the woods in the blink of an eye.

Seeing this, Tom didn't pursue Daniel further.

"Thank you, when I get rescued, I'll make sure to repay you handsomely." Evelyn, seeing Daniel scared off and having narrowly escaped death, bowed deeply to express her gratitude to Tom.

Tom, from his higher stance, glanced at Evelyn, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly before he quickly averted his gaze and picked up some clothes he had laid out the night before, handing them to Evelyn.

"No need to thank me, it was nothing. Here, put these clothes on for now." Tom didn't harbor any ill intentions towards Evelyn,he still adhered to his principles.

Evelyn thanked him again and put on the men's clothes.

Once Evelyn had calmed down, she explained to Tom that she and Daniel had gone to Sydney together to snatch a major international client from Johnson Group. Unfortunately, they encountered a plane crash, but luckily both survived.

However, lacking fire and any wilderness survival skills, they had been eating raw shellfish since yesterday without even a sip of water.

Feeling hopeless about rescue, Daniel, who had long harbored lustful thoughts towards Evelyn at the company, attempted to assault her, leading to the earlier confrontation.

Meanwhile, Tom had started a campfire and was grilling some seafood he had found in the morning.

Once the seafood was cooked, Evelyn devoured it ravenously, her eating manners worse than a beggar's.

This made Tom reflect on the unpredictability of life.

After all, Evelyn was worth billions, used to dine on delicacies, lived in luxury homes, wore designer brands, and was once respected and bowed down to by many. But now, she was nearly violated by her own subordinate and was eating like she was starved, truly a phoenix fallen on hard times.

After eating and drinking her fill, the once disheveled Evelyn tidied herself up a bit, and her mature, womanly charm began to emanate once again.

Evelyn was thirty-six but looked much younger due to her well-maintained skin, which was as soft and fair as a young girl's.

Especially her figure, voluptuous in a way that wasn't fat but rather appealing, the kind that easily stirred men's thoughts.

If Sophia was like a crisp apple with a blush, Evelyn was a ripe, juicy peach, sweet and tempting, making one long to take a bite.
