Mounting Curiosity or Jealousy

Geale was hiking up the stairs to Marnthe's room after his evening swim when the phone he held in his hand began to vibrate. He paused at the steps and looked at the screen notification, half hoping it was Marnthe saying he missed him already.

He sighed when he realized he received a message from Serena. He continued his path to Marnthe's room and saw him just as he was about to lie down on the bed.

Geale's phone vibrated again. He checked its screen once more.

"Spam message?" Marnthe asked, noticing how Geale frowned at his phone screen.

"No, it's Serena." Geale plopped on the bed next to him.

"Did something happen?"

"I don't know."

Marnthe narrowed his eyes at him. "You are reading her message, right?"

Geale pouted. He just wanted to snuggle next to Marnthe and go to sleep. He resignedly obliged and opened Serena's messages.

It really happened!

That was the first message.

What happened? Geale wasn't sure what she meant. Was the message even meant for him?
