Chapter 69

Out in LA they were living in Jason’s apartment temporarily—it was closer to the normal-person definition of small, though it was justly proud of its big windows and high ceilings—and contemplating buying a house. Someplace theirs, and settled. Close to Jason’s family. Lots of room for books. No rush, and they could afford to be picky—and to remodel if required. He wanted a small home gym. Colby, he understood—Colby hadn’t mentioned it, but Jason could guess—would like a pool for those swimmer’s workouts and just for lounging around in, beneath California sunshine.

He knew they’d end up with a pool. He didn’t mind the idea. Even kind of liked it. Especially if Colby wore that swimsuit again. He’d jump right in, in that case.

Most of all he wanted someplace that’d be theirs.

He knew Colby wanted that also. A home, and an anchor.

An anchor with some extensive storage space in the bedroom. Room for lots of toys and lots of fun. That exploration’d been vastly enjoyable so far.
