Staunch Chapter 1 - The heist

My name is Natsuki kimigaya and my story, well my story takes place years ago back when I was on earth before I got isekai into this world. However, for you to fully understand my story, allow me to explain.

Nine years ago while I was on earth, I wasn't your average high school student. I was part of the local gang named The Staunch. We were typically known for petty crimes and small scuffles with other local gangs, nothing to out of control until one day our boss Menace got his hands on two revolvers. He told me and two other guys, Nigle and Williams, to head over to the West side coast and rob a gas station at it's closing hours. The boss had gotten a tip from one of his informers that the gas station owner Freddy, usually makes a good bank on a Friday. Later that friday night, at approximately 10pm, Nigle, Williams and I were parked behind the gas station preparing ourselves for the hiest. The plan was for Nigle and I to rob Freddy while Williams waited for us in the car behind the gas station . As Nigle handed me the revolver he said it was time for us to go. Immediately he pulled his bandana over his face and we both exited the vehicle, walking swiftly into the gas station. As we entered through the front doors, the hinges on the door suddenly made an ear piercing screech. Nigle screamed at Freddy "give us all your fucking money or I'll put a gaping hole right between your eyes!". As Freddy frantically gathers all the money and puts it into a plastic bag I began to raid the store of its cigarettes and liquor. After a few seconds, I noticed a woman in the corner of the gas station quivering in fear with her hands over her mouth and whispering on the phone. I assumed she had called the cops on us so I grabbed her by the head and dragged her a couple of feet from out of the corner and shouted at nigle saying "this fucking bitch has been hiding the entire time! I think she called the cops!". Nigle then looked at me, aimed his gun at Freddy and in a fit of rage, Nigle shot 3 times! All 3 shots rang off next to Freddy'S head as he handed the bag of cash to Nigle. We then proceeded to sprint out of the shabby station and back in the direction of Williams. As we approached the vehicle, Williams glimpsed at us as he asked what were those loud noises he heard from inside the gas station. Nigle then went on to explain what had happened as we made our way back to the East coast,our territory also know as Weeping Valley.

Upon arrival, Menace said "Hahaha you crazy sons of bitches did it." as he lit a cigarette from the stash we hauled back. "so how did it go?" menace enquired. I replied "We had a small complication boss. There was a girl hiding in the back of the store and I'm pretty sure she called the cops on us but I don't think they saw the car so we should be okay.". At that he smirked and said "You guys go home and rest up, we'll speak more about it in the morning" as he handed us some hiest money.

*THE NEXT DAY*

"BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!" the deafening sounds of sms messages had awakened me from my delightful slumber. "hmm what's this?". It was a message from nigle saying "Get your ass over here right now the boss wants to speak with us!". I brushed my teeth and hurriedly got my ass over to the Ri. Ri is our code name for one of our meeting spots. It's located under a bridge where the konkapot River runs. The konkapot river is one of the largest rivers in the Weeping Vally. It's know for its aggressive water currents and murky waters. As I near the Ri I noticed that the boss had a menacing look in his eyes. Nigle and Williams were both rather pissed as well. "Yo what's going on is everything okay?" I asked menace. "Remember that bitch you guys ran into at the gas station? Well it turns out her little boyfriend is an investigator for the West Coast police department and the cops are all over the gas station looking for clues that may lead them right back to us!" responded Menace. "This whole situation could lead us into shit if we're not careful. Everyone who's involved in our Gang is gonna have to stay low for a while. We don't want to bring unnecessary attention to ourselves" said Menace.
