Volume 1 - Chapter 14: First day at Beacon Academy (5)

Sora joined his friend's table as he came with his food. He wasn't that hungry, so he took something light. Sora took a seat beside Jean as Tifa and Atalanta were in front of them.

They had enough time to rest a bit before the big part of the day. Their next class would be with Glynda Goodwitch, their Combat Instructor.

Three hours and 30 minutes of class for combat training. It would be exhausting, and Sora has something after school with Hesphaetus. Sora couldn't help but letting out a sigh. This sigh didn't escape his team's sight.

Jean raised her eyebrow at Sora as she turned her head toward Tifa for an answer. Unfortunately, Tifa shrugged at Jean's look as she was even more confused by this sigh.

Why would he sigh when he was surrounded by beauty like them? Atalanta just looked at Sora before eating her fishes again. She learned a bit of Sora from observation. He will take his own initiative to talk about his problem with them.

Atalanta just shakes her head to Jean and Tifa. Jean supported her forehead with her hand. She just hoped it won't cause a big problem for her team or everyone around them.

'Everything to get stronger,' thought Sora as he kept repeating this mantra in his head while ignoring everything around him.

He kept eating as Jean and Tifa continued their talk before the interruption. Atalanta and Sora were happy enough to listen to their talk and interject themselves in the conversation from time to time.

Sora was happy with his current lifestyle. He was happy enough to just be around his team as he listened to them. His thought got interrupted as someone tapped his shoulder.

Sora frowned as he turned around, trying to see who was brazen enough to do something like that. He saw his morning friend Gran behind him, with three people behind him with their tray on their hand.

"Ah, hello Gran didn't expect to see you here." said Sora as he scratched his head. He really didn't expect to meet Gran this soon after their first meeting. The rest of his team got their attention, attracted by this meeting.

Gran laughed at Sora's reaction and sat nearby Sora as the people behind him also took their seat beside Gran. He looked at Jean, Tifa, and Atalanta as he introduced himself.

"Hi, you must belong in Sora's team, right? My name is Gran, a second year at Beacon."

"Nice to meet you haha, Oh yeah, those guys near me are my team!"

"This guy right here is Rackam, my partner." said Gran as he pointed to a tall guy next to him.

"Yo, nice to meet ya." said Rackam as he waved his hand to Sora and his team. Gran continued to introduce the rest of his team. Team JSTA greeted Rackam back as he started eating his food.

"The next one is Katalina, the serious and knightly girl of the team." said Gran as he pointed to Katalina.

"It's nice to meet Gran's new friends. My name is Katalina, the second in command of team GRKL." introduced Katalina as she nodded her head.

Sora scratched his head in wonder. This Katalina girl reminded him too much of Jean, thought Sora, as he took a peek toward Jean. Looks like he's not the only one thinking so, as Tifa and Atalanta also took a peek at their leader.

Jean warmly greeted Katalina as they started to talk between each other. Gran looked at them as he chuckled at their sudden friendship. He looked at them back as he introduced his last teammate.

"And this is Lydia, our little mascot." said Gran as he got a pout in response from Lyria by his introduction. Gran simply chuckled at her little reaction. Lyria got over quickly as she greeted Sora and his team warmly.

"Nice to meet you, everyone! My name is Lyria. I hope we become good friend." said Lyria as she waved her hand with a big smile. Sora smiled in response because this girl looked very cheerful and honest minded.

Sora introduced his team in return to everyone of team GRKL. Their lunchtime got more lively with the meeting of their new friends.

Sora's team got very curious about this second year team, so they kept asking question as Gran's team kept responding.

Atalanta took care of Lyria even though she was younger. Fortunately, Lyria was very receptive to Atalanta care, as it did not offend her at all.

Jean and Katalina continued their talk as they got interested in each other. Tifa and Sora were talking with Rackam and Gran as they talked about everything that came off.

Unfortunately, they got interrupted by the time as their next class will start soon. Gran was curious about which class team JSTA was going to next. Sora naturally responded without missing a single beat.

It surprised sora that it got pretty quiet after his answer as he looked at the second year team. He was a little shocked by seeing their reaction. Rackam was sweating profusely as looked anywhere but them, Katalina's face paled a little, Lyria's whole body trembled in fear and Gran has a stiff smile on his face.

Sora and his team got very curious about their sudden reaction. Jean took the lead and asked them about their various reactions toward Glynda Goodwitch. She got very curious about their reaction toward her family.

They simply deflected her question with a forced smile as they said that Glynda Goodwitch was a little strict teacher. Gran and his team left the cafeteria in a hurry, as they also needed to go to their next class.

Sora scratched his chin in fascination as he and his team left toward their next class. It will start in 10 minutes and if Glynda Goodwitch is strict as he thought, then they needed to be there in time.

He didn't want to be in the receiving hand of a woman's bad temper.

They arrived in time at the front of the classroom about three minutes before it start. They entered the room as they saw many students already inside and their teacher, Glynda Goodwitch, in the front.

Unexpectedly, Glynda Goodwitch was not the only adult in front of the classroom. She was with two more female adults with her. They were talking with each other as Glynda noticed their presence. She nodded her head at them as Sora and his team nodded back as they found a seat.

Glynda took her scroll as she checked the time. The bell rang as all the students arrived in time before class started. It satisfied Glynda as she put her scroll away. She walked in front of everyone, followed by her two friends.

She cleared her throat as she got everyone's attention. Sora was naturally observing the two teachers beside Glynda Goodwitch.

The first woman has dark blue hair in a messy bob-cut with blunt bangs and brown eyes. She has red nail polish on both her fingers and toes. She is fairly short.

Her outfit comprises a typical white lab-coat that is worn over a short dark green dress. She accessorizes with a red grommet belt, a black studded necklace choker, which connects to multiple necklaces, and strappy black platform high heels.

Sora recognized her as the nurse of Beacon from the information he got from the Beacon app. If he remembers correctly, she is named Tae Takemi like her counterpart in Persona 5.

Sora took his chance and observed the second woman on Glynda's right side. She is a woman with short silver hair and purple eyes. She wears an eyepatch where her right eye used to be. She wears a black suit that shows her cleavage and has a mechanical right arm.

She is Najenda, no last name stated in the Beacon app. If he remembers right, she handles Beacon stealth and security. Sora wonders why those two women would appear here in front of them.

Maybe they were there to introduce themselves? Or assist them in their training? No use of thinking now when they would probably answer his pointless question soon. As Sora's thinking ended, Glynda started her talk.

"Hello everyone, my name is Glynda Goodwitch, your Combat Instructor at Beacon Academy."

"Before starting I would like to introduce everyone to those two teachers beside me."

"They are people that would become very important in your journey at Beacon." said Glynda as she introduced Tae Takemi to her left.

"The women to my left is Tae Takemi, the nurse at Beacon Academy, and the women to my right is Najenda as she handles Beacon Academy stealth and security." As every student clapped their hand in confirmation.

Glynda took a step back as she let these two women talk first before continuing her speech. Takemi took the lead as she introduced herself.

"Hello everyone, like you heard from Glynda my name is Tae Takemi, your nurse here at Beacon and the infirmary is open at every time." said Takemi as she took a step back letting Najenda talk.

"My name is Najenda and I handle the security here at Beacon and you better hope I don't catch anyone doing some weird stuff here." said Najenda as Glynda walked back to the front as she continued her talk.

"Takemi and Najenda took their time today for this first class of combat training." said Glynda as Takemi and Najenda took a seat behind Glynda.

"But before going into this training I would like to raise some important point for this class."

"I will evaluate your progress starting from today to the end of this semester in every class."

"There will be a freshman tournament as the final exam at the end of this semester."

"I will evaluate every team's skills, techniques, tactics, cooperations and aura."

"Naturally, there will be a prize for the team winning this tournament." said Glynda as she ended her speech. She paused as she looked at the various reactions from the students in her class. She continued after inspecting at everyone.

"Is there any question before we start?"

"No? good let's start." said Glyda as she took her scroll out and called the first sparring duos.

"Thor Thunder Vs Zak Turquoise."

I have nothing to say, so enjoy this chapter. Oh, and by the way, I wrote a DxD fanfic with Digimon. It's about Sora creating his digimon empire with the annihilation maker that he would get at the start. The story would start before canon and Sora would have a status in the supernatural world and become a teacher at Kuoh before the start of canon.

His own Digimon faction with the royal knight, Seven great demon lords, Olympos XII, etc.
