Chapter 6: Exterminating the Anomaly
Finally escaping the dreadful gym, Ye Sha was greeted by the blazing sun. This time, he didn't find the sunlight scorching; instead, it felt comforting.
Even though he had the physique of a werewolf, the supernatural entities were unpredictable, with various killing methods. For instance, that eerie old man could kill with just a glance; even with his werewolf abilities, Ye Sha was helpless. After being resurrected, the man died again just by looking at him, as if glitched!
The commercial building in front was now swarming with police, alert with loaded guns and bullets.
Although the distance was short, they didn't come to their aid promptly. It wasn't their delay but the eerie black mist engulfing the gym's floor prevented them from entering!
As people fled the scene, the police grew wary, not immediately questioning them but gathering them in one area, fearing the supernatural might follow.
After all, this world is filled with the bizarre; one must always be cautious!
"Boss, we're safe. We made it out alive!"
Seeing Liu Yu Ning lost in thought, staring at her gym in silence, Ye Sha tried to console her, wondering if she was terrified by the supernatural or saddened by the potential loss of her gym's business.
"Ye Sha, thank you!"
Snapping out of her daze, Liu Yu Ning embraced the man beside her with gratitude, knowing everyone was saved by Ye Sha.
Ye Sha found himself hugged by the stunning beauty, hesitant to move. He smelled her pleasant sporty perfume, feeling her passionate body against his, igniting shameful feelings within him!
"You…"
Just as Liu Yu Ning was about to speak, she felt a strange warmth, realizing the reason. She tightened her grip, making the man in her arms breathless.
"Don't… not so tight…" Ye Sha managed to say, suppressing his werewolf desires.
"Hmph, you naughty boy! I'll let you go now."
Hearing Ye Sha's trembling voice, Liu Yu Ning released him, her beautiful face blushing slightly, scolding him.
Ye Sha quickly turned away, distracting himself with thoughts of other women to suppress his urges.
The black mist outside the gym gradually dispersed; the eerie figure disguised as a gym trainer must have slipped away!
The police formed orderly lines, advancing into the building, accompanied by peculiar masked individuals. What were they up to?
Three or four masked individuals approached with metal detectors, scanning the survivors.
"What are you doing? I just escaped for my life! Back off!" Some irritable survivors, already upset from being confined, couldn't tolerate this treatment.
"Shut up! We're saving your lives! Who knows what the supernatural entities might have left on you? If you want to live, sit still!"
The men in black retorted, making some sense. The annoyed survivors sat down, causing no further trouble.
Ye Sha felt nervous; being half-supernatural, would he be detected? Should he flee? Transforming into a werewolf and hiding in the mountains?
He didn't have much time to think as a man in black approached him with a scanner.
Fortunately, luck was on his side; the device suddenly beeped loudly, flashing a red light – it ran out of battery!
The annoyed man muttered and switched to another device, scanning Liu Yu Ning next.
"Escaped a disaster!" Ye Sha breathed a sigh of relief, deciding to keep his secret. Being discovered as a werewolf would make it hard for him to live among humans!
After the black-clothed individuals finished scanning, indicating safety, the survivors were escorted onto ambulances. They were treated for their injuries while being questioned about the situation.
A young police officer approached Yeshan with a notebook, greeting him warmly. "You're Yeshan, right? We owe this escape to you!"
He had just learned from other survivors that this athletic young man was brave and resourceful. He had enraged the supernatural entity but managed to lead everyone to safety.
"It was mainly a matter of survival instinct; I took some risks," Yeshan replied modestly, showing no signs of arrogance.
"You did remarkably well! No ordinary person has managed to escape from a supernatural pursuit in Jiangyang City before. You're the first to lead so many people out!" The young officer's admiration was genuine.
"Ordinary people? Aren't they ordinary too?" Yeshan tried to shift the conversation towards the group of black-clothed masked individuals, hoping to glean some information.
"They certainly aren't ordinary! They are from the 'Bureau of Supernatural Eradication'!" The officer was quick to reveal, then realized his mistake and covered his mouth, falling silent.
"'Bureau of Supernatural Eradication'?" Yeshan kept repeating the term in his mind. Literally, it meant an organization dedicated to eliminating the supernatural. It seemed that humans had developed a way to deal with the supernatural entities.
However, given his own werewolf identity, Yeshan couldn't blindly trust this 'Bureau of Supernatural Eradication'. If one day he was taken down by them, he would have no ground to stand on!
