Chapter 47

It had been an entire week since everything had happened. Aurora and I had met up with Carter and he gave us the stone. We didn't know what was going to happen if we went back to school, but there wasn't a reason to, since finals were finished.

During the week, Carter had been getting close to shy Hailey. She was still kind of bashful around Carter and myself. Since prom was at the end of the week, he decided to ask her to go with him as friends.

Carter got her a dozen yellow roses – he even counted them himself – and a box of her favorite cinnamon buns she once talked about. Sure, they were going as friends, but Carter wouldn't use that as an excuse to do something sweet. We also invited Mason to go with us, but he had a family camping trip that weekend.

Of course, I asked Aurora to go with me. At first, I didn't know what the hell to do, but after talking to my psychiatrist, Meg, I finally decided what I wanted to do.

I decided to be cute for once.
