Chapter 18

For the entire week, Aurora was silent. She avoided me. Every day since the morning we left the river in Mexico, she avoided opening up to me. I thought she could've told me anything. I thought she would've trusted me enough. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

The only reason I had tried to resist from talking to her was seeing Aurora completely zoned out during the school days. She would've stared into oblivion, just walking like the undead.

I may have to reconsider saying that...

Aurora passed me straight every time I saw her. One look, and she's gone. I had to be patient, but once again every agonizing minute just terrorized me. Once again, she has gotten me to this state.

I'll say it now, I like her. Aurora was already kind of part of our little group. Even Carter agrees since he saw that she agreed to come with us to Mexico. She was part of the group now because I cared about her.
