Malak leaned in, his face mere inches from Bastila's. Torture? No, dear Bastila. You misunderstand, he lifted his hand and reached out to caress her face. Bastila recoiled in horror and disgust. This is but a taste of the dark side to whip your appetite.

Indeed, she could feel the pull and lure of the dark side of the Force. Stronger than before, it throbbed through her mind, assaulting her sensibilities, beckoning her to turn, even a little. Her natural resistance was waning, the time she spent as a Jedi Knight could never train her to resist this. Her body was tired after a week of constant physical assaults, her mind was exhausted from sleep deprivation and deep mental tortures. Yet, she refused to give up. Images of Cale Lestin flooded her mind again, as she sought to use them to quell the rising tide of the dark rebellion inside of her.
