Chapter One: The War Against Humanity.

"So it says it began in the year 2020. Some rich douche thought more technology was everything we were missing. On the other hand, there was this weird Covid disease spreading. Haah. Stan. You won't believe what caused the disease to spread." Jack says with a quick jump.

"Aah. The 2020s. The beginning of it all. How I miss the old days. Bzzt. Bzzzzzzzzzzt." Stan starts malfunctioning. Sparks shoots out. Jack hurriedly tries to fix him.

"Bro. Calm it down. There's still some Zombies around. We can't risk losing all of this here yet." Jack whispers as he taps Stan on his head. Back to normal, Stan scratches his head.

"Sorry Jack. But you should know, when we escaped that facility, I was torn apart a few times. Come one, even this leg isn't half mine." Stan says as he shoots his right leg up into the air. Jack swats it away.

"Grr." A bunch of zombies walk past them dragging their feet.

"Seriously. We have to deal with the worst of our kinds. Killer mindless humans who think with their stomachs, coming from my side." Jacks starts.

"Self-conscious killer robots are out to dominate every part of the world, coming from my side." Stan says shooting his arms up in the air as if celebrating.

"Bro. That's nothing to celebrate. We're both stuck in the middle fighting both." Jack lays back down on the soft sheets. Stan looks at him for a while then lays down near him.

"You do know this isn't a moment, don't you?" Jack says with a sigh. Stan sighs too. Jack gets back up and starts searching the pile of junk.

"Don't you miss your parents and friends?" Stan asks. Jack looks at him all confused. Stan shrugs.

"What do you mean Don't I? Of course I do. But as long as they're surviving somewhere safe, it's all good. What's with you Stan?" Jack says as he continues rummaging through the junk.

"It's just we have been roaming around this small town for a month now. Searching through junk from one house to another. Thank God there's only Zombies running around. We can deal with them for now. But we have to find a way to start bashing robots too. Sure the only disadvantage is that they look like humans already." Stan says.

"No need to remind me Stan. And to answer your questions. We're searching for a way to bring down the whole robot empire. I'm not a tech wizard." Jack says.

"And why this town?" Stan asks.

"It's my hometown. There was this crazy dude who collected all kinds of stuff. Like these newspapers." Jack hands him some old newspapers.

"Oh it's about the start of our kind. Our beginning." Stan says.

"Yeah. I'm trying to figure out whether there was a way to put you all into reset or malfunction. There's nothing about it." Jack says feeling defeated.

"Jack." Stan stands up, all alarmed.

"What Stan. We can't waste anymore time here. It's either we find something in this junk, or we start bashing the robot's heads just like the zombies." Jack says all frustrated.

"No Jack. We need to leave. Right now." Stan says. Firmly this time.

"Why? What is it, Stan?" Jack asks, feeling all worried now.

"My sensors tell me there's a huge horde of zombies coming through here. From the west side. The zombies from everywhere have been attracted to them because they're creating so much noise." Stan says.

"Fuck. Let's go." Jack says, standing up. He grabbed his metal bat and ran for the door. Behind him, Stan follows him, stumbling onto the junk scattered all over the floor. They run out right in front of the zombie horde.

"What the hell, Stan. I thought they were coming from the west side." Jack yells at him.

"Oh butter nuggets. There are multiple hordes closing in on us. From the west there is one. From the north there is one. Right in front of us. From the east, there seems to be 2 hordes coming towards us. We better find a way out of here, fast." Stan says.

"Fuck. What the hell attracted them here? Nevermind explaining that. Let's just get out of here right now. We can't fight that many on our own." Jack says. He grabs onto Stan and runs towards the South side of town. Jack parkour over obstacles and dodges zombies. Stan bumps into one another and still keeps up with Jack. They run into a blocked off pathway with just a fence in their way.

"Jack. I will hold them off here. You get yourself out of here." Stan says stopping in his tracks.

"No Stan. We're both getting out of here. You can make it over that fence too." Jack says.

"Jack. They will keep following us. This horde is too big. Go. I'll meet you by that Treehouse you were always talking about." Stan says, walking towards the horde.

"Alright. Just get there safe." Jack says as he starts running towards the fence. He climbs it and jumps over to the other side. He glances towards Stan as he punches and kicks the zombies from keeping them from following him. He runs and doesn't stop until he reached the Treehouse. He awaits Stan's return patiently.

"He must have gotten out of here. I should head over to that Treehouse now." Stan says to himself as he runs towards the Fence.

"Yeah. That's the malfunctioned prototype that has been seen with the human. Keep a close eye on them for now. Don't engage." An unfamiliar voice says from the shadows. Two robots stealthily follows Stan.
