"You know, the advice you gave earlier didn't sound like something a child would say," Kiara admitted, her gaze dropping to the ground as she pondered her words. "For a moment, you felt more... like an adult."
Kai shrugged nonchalantly, as if it didn't matter either way. "I just listen to older people talk," he said with a small grin, his tone light. "I guess it rubbed off on me."
Kiara raised an eyebrow, but she couldn't help the faint smile tugging at her lips.
Despite his youth, Kai had moments where his words seemed far beyond his years, like he was someone who had seen more of the world than his age would suggest.
She sighed, refocusing her attention. "We need to leave here soon," she muttered, though there was a trace of reluctance in her voice. "I have business to attend to elsewhere in the Kingdom. But... that can wait. It's not urgent."
