Suzy

[AN HOUR BEFORE THE TOWER APPEARED]

"I wonder if Davy thinks I hate him because I broke up with him. In reality, I just wanted him to stop being a shut-in. I thought breaking up with him would help, but judging by his reaction, I'm guessing I just made him hate me."

Suzy Aro, a 19-year-old girl, was smart, beautiful, and attractive. All the boys who set their eyes on her fell in love instantly. She had received numerous love proposals from handsome and wealthy guys, but she turned them all down.

So, what did a girl like her see in Davy, who never paid attention to her and preferred to stay indoors? The answer was simple: he treated her like a normal girl. He didn't try to impress her with expensive gifts; instead, he treated her like an ordinary person.

"I know he hasn't treated me great, but I still love him more than anyone. Just being with him always puts me at ease and makes me feel protected, not that he can fight, haha."

As she daydreamed about her ex, a sudden rumbling began. It was so extreme that it made the surrounding buildings feel like they were collapsing. Windows shattered, and many people were thrown to the ground.

"Woah, what the hell is going on," she exclaimed as she was jolted by the violent shaking.

The rumbling eventually subsided, and she rushed outside to see the aftermath. Many buildings had been damaged, but thankfully, no one appeared to be injured.

"Kyaaah!!"

A woman's scream pierced the chaos, prompting Suzy to run towards the source to investigate. As she sprinted in that direction, growling sounds emanated from various directions.

"What is that sound? It almost sounds like a dog, a very big dog."

She tried to ignore the eerie sounds and arrived at the location of the scream. To her surprise, no one was there. She glanced around, her senses heightened, and then she heard a gruesome chewing sound coming from behind one of the cars. She approached the vehicle cautiously, and what she saw nearly made her vomit: a reaper wolf was devouring the woman who had screamed.

"Wha…what the hell is that thing? I have to get out of here."

She slowly retreated, covering her mouth to stifle any screams. She almost escaped, but fate had other plans. A can lay in her path, and she accidentally kicked it, alerting the reaper wolf.

"Wtf is a can doing here, dammit."

The reaper wolf, its mouth dripping with saliva, blood,\ and flesh caught between its teeth, steadily approached her. It knew she would make a tasty snack. With a growl, it lunged at her, its hunger-fueled determination evident.

"Kyaaaah, stay away!"

She ran for her life, not daring to look back. She darted into a nearby building, a supermarket. Abandoned or devoured, everyone who had been inside met the same fate. She managed to close the door, but it was made of glass, providing no real barrier for the relentless reaper wolf. The creature broke through as if the glass were nothing more than a fragile illusion. Desperation forced her to retreat further, into the store's restroom, where she locked herself in.

Her hands trembled as she pulled out her phone, instinctively dialing Davy's number. However, he remained unreachable, likely still lost in sleep.

"Why are you not picking up, Davy? Is he angry with me?"

Fear gripped her, not only of the monstrous creature outside but also because the one person she trusted the most was not answering her call.

The reaper wolf arrived at the toilet door, sniffing around before eventually leaving. After what felt like an eternity, she cautiously opened the door, scanning the area. The reaper wolf was nowhere to be seen.

"What was that thing? I almost peed myself. Thankfully, it's gone. Should I try calling Davy again? Why is he not picking up? Did something happen to him? What if those things got him? No, he is probably just sleeping.....I should go check up on him."

She looked around the area, finding no sign of the reaper wolf. A sense of relief washed over her, and she smiled awkwardly before sprinting in the direction of his house. She had completely forgotten about the giant tower that had appeared; her mind was consumed by fear and worry. She ran carefully, trying not to make any noise. However, wolves had an exceptional sense of smell. Five reaper wolves detected her scent and started running toward her.

"No, no, no! Where did these things come from, and how did they notice me? I'm sure I was super quiet."

Desperation fueled her attempts to find refuge. She tried to run into one of the nearby buildings, but the reaper wolves caught up to her before she could get inside. One of them slammed her into the wall and sank its teeth into her. She cried out in pain, but there was no one around to help. The wolf tossed her around as if she were a chew toy, and she started losing consciousness.

In her moment of dire need, her powers awakened. Fire and wind elements surged through her, but as she lost consciousness, her spirits decided to assist just this once before departing.

[When it comes to elemental powers, spirits arrive in person to bestow those powers. If the user dies, the spirit will also die. That's why they are helping Suzy right now.]

The reaper wolves fell under the onslaught of the spirits, but more of them kept coming. The wind spirit used its powers to carry Suzy inside the building. It gently placed her in one of the rooms, while the fire spirit melted the lock, sealing her inside. After ensuring her safety, the spirits vanished.

[After a few minutes, Suzy slowly woke up.]

"Huh, I'm alive? But how? I was certain that thing killed me. Who brought me here?"

Barely able to keep her eyes open, she was losing too much blood. She took out her phone and tried calling Davy once more. This time, he picked up.

"Help me, Davy."

These were her last words before she passed out.

"Suzy, are you there? What happened, SUZY!! Can you hear me? Where are you?"

He tried repeatedly, but there was no reply. Her injuries were severe, and if she didn't get help soon, she would succumb to blood loss. Everything now rested in Davy's hands.
