New Journey

"What do you mean the dragon got killed? I thought no one could handle it on the 1st floor?" Davy asked.

"I don't know much of the details because I am still low-level, master."

"Well, it can't be helped then. We will just have to go and check it for ourselves."

[MORNING ARRIVES]

"What? The boss has been defeated? By who?" Suzy asked.

"I am not sure. That's why we will go and find out what happened," he said while equipping his sword.

They packed up their things, stowing them in his inventory, and departed. On their way out of the forest, they killed a few monsters and saw many dead bodies of adventurers and civilians. They ran toward the town and from a distance, they could already see smoke and the destroyed town. In the center of the rubble was a huge bone body, the dragon. The civilians were crying as they had lost their homes and loved ones. The knights were nowhere to be seen because they knew how shameful they had acted, so they kept their distance.

A young man with black hair, red eyes, and light armor was being surrounded by civilians. He was the hero who had slain the dragon, sent from one of the higher continents by the holy church that worshiped the goddess of light to deal with the dragon. The dragon had not remained undefeated because no one could defeat it; it remained undefeated because those who could chose not to.

Davy and his team kept a safe distance as they observed the situation. He stared at the hero and activated [revealing eye].

"WARNING WARNING, the target has detected your presence."

"What? Dammit, things are about to get annoying again."

Out of nowhere, the young man appeared in front of him. He stared at him with a menacing look, but Davy was not one to be threatened easily. He stared back at him with an expressionless face.

"Oho, seems you are not an ordinary guy. My name is Leo; I am from the holy continent. Nice to meet you," he said, extending his hand for a handshake.

"My name is not of importance," Davy replied, turning his back on Leo and ignoring his handshake.

"You still haven't apologized for that move you pulled earlier," Leo said with his eyes closed and a smile on his face.

"Is that so? Well, then I am sorry," he replied rudely, walking away.

Leo kept smiling with his eyes closed. He opened them slightly and attacked him. Davy slowly turned around, his eyes turning red, a villainous smile spreading across his face. He stretched out his hand, sending shivers down Leo's spine. But Charlotte appeared out of nowhere and interrupted them.

"What are you doing? Are you trying to get yourself killed?" she asked while looking at Davy.

Davy's face returned to normal before Charlotte and his teammates could see; only Leo saw that face. It was only for an instant, but he felt like he was being devoured. Davy looked at Charlotte in an annoyed way, turned around, and they continued walking away.

"Wait, I want to talk to you," she yelled, running after them.

Leo was left there, confused about what just happened. He bit his lips and clenched his fists in frustration. He looked at Davy one last time and walked away, intending to report to the church about what had occurred. Davy glared at him and sent [soul touch v2] toward him. Leo froze in fear, looking back but finding no one there. It was just a warning.

[In the goddess realm]

"What, he made Leo tremble in fear? Although Leo is not very special compared to many in the holy church, this is very surprising. I really want to make him my apostle, but that attitude of his is unbearable," the goddess said.

The goddess decided to send a revelation to the church, stating that they should defeat Davy. She had made him into an enemy, even though he warned her that she shouldn't.

"What will a mere mortal do anyway? I will just teach him a lesson and convert him to my side," she said with a gentle smile on her face as she looked at him.

Charlotte kept following them, trying to talk to Davy, but he just ignored her. They arrived at the knight base. He walked to the supreme commander's room, kicked down the door, and walked in. He told his team to wait outside as he needed to talk to him alone. He walked straight up to the commander's table and took out half of John's head from the inventory, placing it on the table. He proceeded to sit and stared the commander right in the eyes.

The commander got angry and tried to attack him, but he evaded and knocked him back. The commander hit the wall, causing a lot of noise, which made Charlotte and the others barge in. Charlotte saw the commander on the ground and immediately charged at Davy.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?" she shouted.

He evaded her attack, grabbing her by the neck and showing her John's head. She started panicking and sweating, thinking she was next, but he just slammed her on the ground. She took damage as blood came from her mouth.

"Davy, what are you doing?" Suzy asked.

"I thought I told you to stay outside," he said coldly, looking at them, sending shivers down their spines.

"We are sorry," they all said simultaneously.

He looked at them, calmed down, and gestured for the supreme commander to take a seat. He also picked up Charlotte and placed her on a chair, took a seat himself, crossed one leg over the other, and glared at them.

"Now listen to me. I will only say this once. I hate scum-like people and also annoying people. The head on the table, as you already guessed, belongs to John. He followed us into a dungeon and tried to take advantage of my teammate. Do you understand? I am warning you right now. If anyone else from this base gets on my nerve, I will destroy this whole place," he said angrily, his mana filling the room, his face showing a menacing expression.

He stood up, his teammates touched by his fierce protection. They walked out of the building, and Charlotte and the commander remained silent. News of John's death spread quickly before Davy and his team even left the base. Ezekiel charged out with a sword in his hand, wasting no time in trying to strike Davy. Charlotte appeared and knocked him out.

"W-we are sorry about that. I will make sure to punish him," she nervously said, bowing.

"It's fine. By the way, do you know of a good town in this continent where we can hunt strong monsters?"

"Oh, if that's the case, then head north. There's a town called [Century Town]. It's a good place to grow stronger and build a reputation for yourself," she replied, finally looking at ease.

"Very well, thank you for your help. I'm sure we will meet again," he said as they walked away.

"Hehe, I hope not," she whispered to herself.

Next destination: [Century Town]. Let the adventure continue.
