Chapter 28

"Wake up, papa."

I heard that. Eh! Papa? When did I get married? When did I have a kid?!! I can't remember. And my eyelids are so heavy that they aren't even moving.

However there is someone sitting on my belly. I can feel the body heat. I need to open my eyes to ascertain the truth.

EYES!!! Open. With that I gather all my strength to open my eyes.

The surroundings are too bright. I can't even look clearly. My eye is exposed to the sun. Where is my hand? I can't feel them. Both my left and right hands are missing.

I can't feel them. And my eyes are already tearing apart. The sunshine is totally destroying my eyes. Tears are falling down my cheeks.

However, something covers my eyes. Ahh!!! It feels good. At least the cruel sunshine is blocked.

"Papa, why are you crying? Don't cry!"

Again that childish voice. And now that my eye has adapted to the light, I see a pair of hands. They are a small baby hands.

Now, time to remember. Among all my partners, who could have such small hands?

The only answer is Eden. I see. So Eden is calling me papa just like in my dream.

"Sweetie, you can take off your hands now."

I tell her and she takes her hands off of my eyes. I can finally see and it's morning.

I see the blue sky and Eden on my chest.

Now I remember. I couldn't sleep last night so I went for a walk.

And this walk became a bit longer than expected when Hazel dragged both Eden and Fay here.

In the end, they decided to take my side and fell asleep. I must have fallen asleep at some point and I laid on the grass.

I try to sit up but am blocked. I see! The reason why I can't feel my arms are because Hazel is sleeping on my right arm and Fay on my left arm.

My hands have so numb that I can't even feel them.

"Eden, wake them up. I can't feel my arms." I ask Eden who moved onto my chest.

She was sitting on my lap so if I laid down, she would be on my belly.

She started shaking both of them and Hazel was the first one to respond.

"Hmm…..fuuuuaaaaa."

That's a long yawn.

"Hazel, I would appreciate it if you just moved from my arm."

I say this to her directly because seeing her yawn, she would fall asleep again.

"Oh. Master, you are awake. Ehh….why are we here? And why was I sleeping on master's arm?" (Hazel)

"Don't be so flustered. But first move get up and move Fay as well."

"Ehhhhh??!!?!"

She is very confused. Does she not remember last night? Well, she gets up.

That's a relief. I can finally feel blood rushing through my arms again. It isn't a good sensation. More like, my hand might pop from the pressure.

But then she moved Fay from my left arm and both my arms are free now.

Eden is still on my chest like a little kitten.

But I don't mind. She isn't that heavy.

I should wait for a while before my arms are completely back.

And two minutes later, they are normal.

That's a relief. I check out my arms if anything is wrong or not but it seems fine.

I stand up with Eden on my shoulders. She is straight up on my shoulder.

"Hazel, let's go back." I say to her. But she is currently in a pinch.

Fay who still isn't awake, is sleeping on Hazel's lap. And she isn't letting her get up as well.

"Master, who is this woman? You haven't told me."

That's right. I haven't told Hazel who Fay is.

"That's the alien who came to our planet. She is our ticket out of this planet."

I keep it brief. Making it too complicated would hinder things.

"Can you pick her up on your back?"

I ask Hazel to do that.

It seems like Hazel actually can pick her up. It's a relief.

I didn't bring anything. I totally came here on foot. So feet are our only method of transportation.

"Eden, do you feel anything unusual? Like does your body hurt or something?"

"No." Eden is really crisp. She is energetic and looking here and there. Even asking me questions.

That's good. She is still barely a few months old. Or is that a few years. I don't know how bear lifespan compares to human.

But I think she's four or five. Let's check this later.

It's still early morning. The sun isn't even that high up.

And we reach home after an hour of walking. It really is far from here. But I have to go there again.

Because I haven't tested out my strength yet. Before your enemies, know yourself. That's an important lesson.

I am about to head straight into the enemy territory. So I have to know my limitations and get a little bit of common sense of that world.

Without these, I would be risking it. I have to train Hazel as well. Judging from her walk with Fay on her back, she has fair amount of stamina.

I just have to train her so that she can handle stuff like that.

We enter the house and Hazel lays Fay down on the bed. Still, this princess sleeps like a log.

It's still a surprise that she got up and walked to there. I think of these as I make breakfast.

I am the only one who can cook right now. I can test it later whether Hazel can cook or not.

If not, then I can teach her if she wants. And I make the common bacon and eggs with toast.
