Chapter 2

Tracy woke in a cold sweat. "What a strange dream. You'd think I'd dream of a Straw-Man instead of a spider person," she thought. She got up and changed her clothes. As she was putting her shirt on, she felt a sharp pain in her neck. She went to the bathroom and saw a bite mark on the right side of her neck. Didn't the spider in her dream bite her there? She decided to cover it up with her auburn hair and left for school.

When she arrived, Sylvia was there waiting for someone. She looked at Tracy and smiled. "Unfortunately, I don't have time to deal with you. I'm waiting for the new True Blood!" she exclaimed, proudly.

"Actually, Miss Grey, the new student asked for a No-Mag to be his guide. I'm giving that position to Miss Hunter," Mr. DeCan said. Mr. DeCan, the school principle, walked out of the school and looked at Tracy. "If she'll accept, that is." Tracy looked at him.

"Why would a True Blood ask for a No-Mag?" Tracy asked.

"He was raised by No-Mags after his parents passed. He said he feels more comfortable around them," Mr. DeCan explained. Tracy nodded. Maybe there's one True Blood that's nice to her kind. Sylvia glared at her and walked off.

A few minutes passed and she saw a tall man with black hair and pale, blue eyes walk up to her. "Are you my guide?" he asked. Tracy nodded and extended her hand to him.

"I'm Tracy Hunter. It's a pleasure to meet you," she introduced. He smiled and shook her hand.

"I'm Eren Harlote. It's a pleasure to meet you, Tracy," he replied. Tracy knew that No-Mags weren't supposed to make the first move when introducing themselves to True Bloods. She merely tested him. "He seems to be putting up quite the act. No matter. I can see right through him," she thought.

Tracy walked him around the school, showing him where all the first year classrooms were. It seems he's not much older than her. "And this is your first hour. Magi History," she explained. Since they both share the same first hour, she saved that class for last. They walked in and Tracy sat in her usual corner seat. Eren decided to sit next to her.

"How accurate is the history class?" he asked. Tracy shrugged. She barely paid attention to it.

"Today's lesson is about Hunters. Hunters, like No-Mags, have no Magic. However, they do have energy signatures that present themselves at the age of 11. Hunters have long been extinct, but their incredible strength and fighting techniques have made their way to our books. There are even records showing they used to hunt an extinct species called Spider-Kin!" the teacher exclaimed, excitedly. A boy near the front raised his hand.

"Yes Mr. Lyon?"

"What's a Spider-Kin?" the boy asked. Eren chuckled and opened his palm. Fog came out of his hand and an image appeared within it. It showed a creature with black skin, standing upright. It looked like what I saw in my dream last night.

"This is a Spider-Kin. They used to roam this planet and terrorize No-Mags and True Bloods. They'd drain every drop of blood in their victims' bodies then consume their flesh. The Hunter Alliance was created to hunt down and exterminate then," Eren explained.

"Very good Mr. Harlote!" the teacher exclaimed. Tracy looked at the image again before Eren extinguished the fog. She made a mental image and drew it out after class.

The rest of the day went by as normal. Apart from the pain in her neck, Tracy did everything she normally does. After school ended, she texted Natalie to meet her at the park and started walking there. When she arrived, she saw Eren sitting on a swingset with another man. He looked familiar, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Eren saw her and waved.

Tracy panicked a little, but she felt an urge to go to him. She sat on the swing next to him. "Hey Tracy! I'd like to introduce you to my friend, Jay," he said.

"Hey. I'm Tracy Hunter," she introduced. Based on his energy pattern, she guessed he was a No-Mag. Maybe she misjudged Eren. Natalie showed up and protectivly went to Tarcy's side. "Is this True Blood bothering you Tracy?" Natalie asked.

"No. This is Eren. He asked for me to be his guide at school. He's not like the others," Tracy answered. Natalie was hesitant at first, but she sat on a swing and kept looking at Eren. Eden looked uncomfortable with the attention, but said nothing. He turned to Tracy and looked at her neck.

"What's on your neck? It looks like something bit you," he asked. Tracy's hand instictivly covered it, but Natalie already saw it and pried her hand away.
