Another Step

"Hey, Shirei, you mentioned there was something else we needed, right? Or are you still keeping that as a surprise?" Shirei was sitting in the control rooms chair, sorting through information on the holographic display. Asami leaned against the wall behind him, keeping an eye on Kazuma, who they let wander around as long as he didn't touch anything.

"No, I just said that because we were still down there at the time. You can't be too careful in a place full of magic. But considering we brought Kazuma up with us, it doesn't really matter now." Shirei talked to Asami over Kazuma's constant noise. After he answered, his hands suddenly stopped moving across the holographic displays.

"And done." Asami saw Shirei call her over along with Kazuma. The two of them walked up beside him and looked towards the display. "Asami, if you had to describe it, how would you say our capture of Muri went?" Seeming surprised by the odd question, Asami thought to herself. "Well, it didn't go smoothly, that's for sure, but we managed to scrape by."

Shirei nodded in agreement with her. Thinking back, calling them bounty hunters might have been more accurate then he wanted to admit. And that was in no way a good thing. "The point is that we are unorganized." Asami began listening carefully due to Shirei beginning to list off some issues.

"First of all, I should have double-checked exactly what kind of weapon you had created for yourself. Along with that, we have zero means of long-range communication, which left me hoping that you would act quickly and causing unnecessary panic. That aside, I was a little overconfident considering we had escaped All For One and gotten upgrades."

While those were not all the issues, these were a few that really stuck out to Shirei. And the last one he listed hit the closest to home. "And all that aside, we have no method of Information gathering except for my own memory of the world in question. I couldn't even recognize the Gates Of Babylon from what I heard."

If he had failed to recognize some other power that was actually something they couldn't handle, then they would be dead. And more importantly, against an ability like the GoB, Asami was at an even worse advantage considering she was completely human. "I see what you mean. I guess cutting it close like that every time would be pretty bad."

Kazuma nodded in agreement with Asami, listening from the sidelines, interested in what they were talking about. "So without the External Database, we cant access all the information we need and want. Plus, with the scanner being so inaccurate, we can't pinpoint abnormalities accurately."

"So you're saying you guys have been lucky this entire time?" Kazuma came out and said, and both Asami and Shirei nodded. "Basically ya." Asami verbally admitted as Shirei turned to her. "And that's exactly what I'm trying to fix, and it starts with this." Shirei swiped his hand on the holographic display, and a 3d image appeared.

This Image showed a robotic-like body similar to Shirei's but a lot less advanced. Looking at it both Kazuma and Asami were interested but still confused. "A robot?" Shirei shook his head. "No, that's actually the Android I plan on creating." Shirei could tell the two of them didn't understand the difference, so he continued.

"A machine is simple. It follows a single directive or purpose and fulfils it as flawlessly as it can. That's why they are so great when it comes to things like manufacturing or Ground-To-Air defence systems. But in the end, there is a reason why on worlds like ours we don't have terminators roaming the battlefield."

Bringing their focus to the android, Shirei smiled inwardly. " I plan on using these things to fill in the gaps we have now." Swiping the image away, different versions and models of androids appeared and disappeared. Ground, Air, Infiltration/Assassination or even Intelligence gathering. "So this is what we needed those two for?"

Referring to Muri and Eren, Shirei nodded. While their overall goal was a lot larger right now, Shirei took things one at a time. And one of the goals he promised himself to do first was dealing with All For One in Asami's world. To take down that criminal den he had under his thumb, this would be the first step.

"So I don't really get it, but if you already know what you're going to make, then why don't you make it?" Hearing that, Asami was wondering as well as they looked towards Shirei. "Well, that's the reason we're staying here. To make something this advanced, the AI needs something to build off of. But like I said, technology like that is extremely complex."

"Wait, then how are we going to get it from a fantasy world like mine? Honestly, nothing there makes sense, and I doubt you'll find any advanced technology there." Konosuba was based in a medieval-styled world, after all, no matter how advanced the magic. And Shirei himself almost passed on this opportunity.

"I actually remembered an OVA episode from your show." Kazuma looked surprised hearing Shirei. "Oh, right! Wait, am I popular where you come from?" Shirei briefly told Kazuma just how popular Konosuba was with millions of fans quite literally. "Wow… I can't believe that the Useless goddess is actually favoured."

"Well, people honestly like Megumin the most, but ya Aqua was turned into a bit of a Meme." After another few minutes of conversation, Asami had to drag the two of them back on course. "As much as I enjoy watching you two geek out, can we get back to it?" Shirei shook his head and agreed.

"Right, my bad. As I was saying, you would be right, but Konosuba is a world that is chock full of reincarnators. And even though they're mostly for stories sake, the powers they have are real. One of them just so happened to have the ability to create anything literally, and he ended up creating a dungeon chocked full of golems."

Asami turned her head to the side. "Golems? Like the ones made of rock and stuff you would see in those old fantasy games?" Shirei told Asami she was half right. "They were more like dolls or robots from what I could tell. There was a large one modelled after a mech that guards the main entrance, but he's not what we are after."

"Further in the episode, there was a brief showing of a special golem deep in the dungeon that had the qualities of an Android. And thanks to the fact he created using a cheat likeability, we can ignore the possibility it won't be complex enough." After Shirei explained the entire thing, both Kazuma and Asami understood.

"So we have to get through a Mech and a bunch of failed creations to reach the prize. And that will let us build these Androids you are hyping up huh?" Asami put her thumb up to her lip and began thinking. Shirei could see the gears in her head spinning as he basically read through her thought process.

"It's going to be tough considering Megumin's condition right now. We could have relied on her explosion magic. And… Well, Darkness and Aqua are basically useless. We're going to have to do it by ourselves." Suddenly Kazuma's expression changed as he slowly backed up. "Wait, you want me to go too?"

Asami looked at him out of the corner of her eye and smiled. "What are you scared of? You've technically already done it before so there's nothing to worry about." Kazuma gave a fake laugh as he responded. "Ya, that's because that me had Megumin. She's like a walking nuke! But if I needed her last time, then how are we supposed to do it?"

Both Asami and Shirei could immediately see through the bullshit Kazuma was making up. Asami began to poke at his arm while goading him. "So you are scared, and here I thought you actually grew a little more confident after fighting Muri. After all, you did get to keep that sword." Kazuma grit his teeth before replying.

"You know what, nevermind! Honestly, I was worrying you would slow me down considering how much weight you're carrying on you." Kazuma purposely looked at Asami's chest. "But I guess my worry was misplaced." Kazuma purposely left on what he felt like was a win, not giving Asami a chance to say something.

Seeing him walk out of the control room, a smile grew on Asami's face as she turned to Shirei. "You were right. He really is easy to manipulate." Another plus was that Shirei knew Kazuma almost better than he knew himself. He didn't know why, but he was super irritable when it came to Asami, and they both knew that.

"But he did have a point. How are we gonna handle this?" Shirei did not respond right away as he turned back to the holographic display. Swiping across the screen, he made his way towards the 'Spectral Hun Interface' and showed Asami something interesting. "You probably haven't seen this before, but why don't you take a look."

[Spectral Hub Interface]

Current Energy: 3% (47800/1500000)

Energy Output: +22200|D

Status: Structurally Stable (100% Stability)

<Exo-Suit Manufacturer - Fabricatable> (Energy Required: 725000)

<Vehicle Manufacturer - Fabricatable> (Energy Required: 500000)

<Android Creator - Unavailable>

<Docking Bay - Exceeds Energy Capacity>

"The Spectral Hub runs off of raw power, which is converted into these stats up here. Everything below it is what I could make if I had the Energy or the upgrades/components." Seeing the Interface for the first time, Asami quickly glanced over it. Surprisingly or maybe it was due to how she grew up using her quirk, she was able to memorize a lot in a short span of time.

Even learning about the MHA Universe based on Shirei's input into the Local Database did not take her very long. "Hold on are you saying it's possible I could get a tank?" Hearing such a sudden and random question, Shirei looked at her. "You… Why do you want a tank?" Asami's eyes were glued to the Vehicle Manufacturer function.

"Uh? I mean, it's strategic. Can you imagine driving that thing into a fight? And everything is high tech here, so I bet it will have a bunch of cool gadgets." Shirei was beginning to see a habit when it came to Asami. As good as she was at close combat, she seemed drawn to things that could be explosive in one way or another.

And while Shirei could definitely share in her sentiments, he brushed off the comment. "In the future, but for now no. What I'm trying to show you is this." Shirei pointed to the Energy Output on the Interface, and unlike all the times he saw it before, it had + instead of - when it came to daily usage.

That meant the generators were working properly. Instead of simply absorbing all the power right away, the Spectral Hub was siphoning it all, giving them a little amount in comparison. But in the long run, they would make a crap ton more energy using this method. 'And this is just from two abilities, one being a knock off version of the GoB and the other being Eren's transformation.'

If they could get five more, they may end up generating more energy a day then they could use. "It'll take a few days, but before we head down to that dungeon, I want us to make a few things and come up with a proper plan. If we can't organize ourselves, then commanding an entire army will be like giving weapons to a toddler."

"We're gonna do this right this time around."

And were back nothing else to say good day to you.
