Trojan Horse

Hearing the roar of a horse, General Alice and Lieutenant Jack hurriedly climbed the stairs to meet up with the Colonel.

-

The Colonel just finished his prayer, and he started to swing his long mace, getting used to the difference in weight of his blessed mace.

The nigh of a horse was heard from the storm closing in on the fortress. Rain began to fall, making the plains on the exterior of the fortress slick and muddy.

After familiarizing himself with the newly blessed long mace, the colonel looked to his left and right, noticing the soldiers pumping themselves up for battle.

With a sigh, he yelled, Lower the ropes!

Soldiers went to the crates that were scattered on the battlements, took out thick rope, and began tying one end to the Merlin, dropping the other end off the battlements.

Then they began moving big boxes full of metal throwing lances, which all had a line reaching into the fortress and connecting to a formation of tanks used to store energy.

Attach your crossbows! Yelled the Colonel

The soldiers reached towards their waists and took out a folded crossbow. Within every crossbow was a thin and long crystal that could be seen within the grip. Unfolding the crossbows, the soldiers attached them to their backs and grabbed a single throwing lance in each hand.

-

General Alice and Lieutenant Jack reached the battlements and ran in the direction of the Colonel.

After a bit of running, they were at the Colonel's side.

How close is it? I asked Jack between hurried breaths.

Close enough to send lightning our way, better put that circlet on, kid. Said the Colonel

Lieutenant Jack understood the Colonel's words and reached to his waist, taking out a golden thorn circlet adorned with green gemstones. As Jack took hold of the circlet, the thorns poked his skin and drew blood. As Jack put the thorn circlet on his head, the thorns began to attach themselves to his head. The thorns reached into his head, eventually connecting themselves to his skull. Jack's head ached as the thorn circlet grew heavier on his head. Jack fell to the ground in pain, with Alice massaging his shoulders.

May our pain be washed away by the glory of your light! The Colonel got down on his knees as his hand started to glow. A hand was placed on Jack's head, relieving the pain.

Get up, kid, we're going to need you for this. The Colonel got up and offered a hand to Jack.

Taking the hand, Jack was pulled up to his feet while Alice let go of his shoulders. Looking up towards the Colonel, he said, Thanks, man, and he turned to Alice and said, Thank you for the massage, Alice.

Alice started to blush. I can't relieve your pain like the colon can, but I can still be here for you!

Hearing Alice Jack, I also began to blush.

The Colonel looked up into the storm with a look of worry as a ball of light started to build up within the storm.

It's Coming! Yelled the Colonel

A large bolt of lightning shot down from the ravenous storm brewing up above. As the bolt hit the ground, dirt and mud flew into the air, veiling what hid within. A horse roar was heard from within the veil as the dirt and mud that acted as a veil flew towards the battlements. Soldiers dipped down in the hopes of not getting hit.

Where the veil once was, a horse

Lightning sparked off the black hide of the horse; the eyes were white and the main was a dark blue, but its tail was black and held a large ball of what looked like lightning.

Everyone, get down! Yelled General Alice

The soldiers immediately dove down, hiding behind merlons.

The horse flicked its tail, throwing the ball of lightning upward towards the battlements.

Lieutenant Jack looked over the Merlin he was hiding behind and lifted a hand in the way of the ball of lightning.

Before the careening ball of lightning could land, a shield of mud and dirt came out of the plains. On contact with the shield, the ball of lightning exploded, sending pieces of the shield flying and leaving a small piece of dirt in the air.

The Colonel placed his long mace on the ground, grabbed four lances at his side, and yelled, Throw the lances! The soldiers looked over the Merlons and threw their lances at the horse. The horse opened its mouth and spat out a ball of lightning. The ball hit the ground and created a dome of lightning around the horse. A wave of throwing lances collided with the dome of lightning, making the dome smaller and smaller as the lances pushed through the dome and landed towards the horse. Noticing the incoming lances, the lightning horse tried to dodge out of the way. Being confined in the ever-decreasing dome, it was futile; lances pierced into its hide, sending visible lightning down the lines of the lances. Lances hit the ground near the horse, the lightning flickering off of the horse headed towards the grounded lances, slowly sapping the horse's power.

The soldiers on the battlements rearmed themselves, grabbing the crossbow on their backs. Cocking back the string of the crossbow, an energy bolt appears ready to fire.

Remember, it's about to separate! Yelled the Colonel

The colonel and Jack looked at each other for a second, and with a nod from the colonel, Jack jumped off the battlements with dirt and muck rising up from the muddy ground below, slowing his descent. The Colonel gripped his long mace in his left hand, grabbed a rope hanging off the merlon, and rappelled down.

In preparation for the horse's separation, Alice takes the stave off her back and gets ready to fire a fire bolt.

As the horse's power is slowly draining, it falls to the ground, twitching, while its stomach appears oddly engorged. The stomach of the horse started growing larger and larger until it exploded. The horse weakly whined in pain while crackling with energy and crawling out.
