Chapter 6 Poison Douluo Dugu Bo

"Uncle Ning, you should stay away from Xue Qinghe."

"Why do you say that?" Ning Fengzhi became puzzled. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan and the Heaven Dou Empire had always been close.

"Xue Qinghe is a female." Zhao Ya thought back to the blonde woman she saw at the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy.

"Female?" Ning Fengzhi's brows furrowed as he frowned.

Zhao Ya nodded, "It's a woman with blonde hair."

"Since that wasn't Xue Qinghe, this can only mean that Xue Qinghe is dead. The only ones with the ability and motive to do this is the Spirit Hall." Chen Xin's eyes exuded a gloomy atmosphere.

"Yes." Ning Fengzhi's brows smoothed out as he relaxed. "This 'Xue Qinghe' must be an undercover agent sent by the Spirit Hall. Luckily, I didn't agree to his request."

"What request?" Ning Rongrong peered curiously at her father.

"Xue Qinghe requested to be my student. I'm glad that I didn't agree right away."

Suddenly, it seemed like the temperature in the carriage dropped at once.

Ning Fengzhi's face became slightly while Chen Xin's expression became sharp.

"Dugo Bo?" The name caused everyone in the carriage to be startled. "What are you doing here?"

Dugu Bo has long, poisonous green hair, and wore stylized black robes. He also wears a green-lined black cloak with tattered edges. He has gold eyes, and is young in appearance, with a red slash adorning his forehead.

"I'm looking for someone named Zhao Ya. She knows my granddaughter, Dugu Yan."

"You are Sister Yan's grandfather?" Ning Rongrong poked her head out of the carriage's window.

"Sister Yan?" Ning Fengzhi was surprised.

He was aware that Dugu Bo's granddaughter was attending the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy but he wasn't aware that Ning Rongrong and Dugu Yan were acquaintances.

Seeing Ning Fengzhi's confusion, Zhao Ya explained, "We met today when touring the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy. I said I could help Dugu Yan solve her family's inheritance problems. Elder Bone, can you tell Elder Dugu to meet us at the clan?"

Standing beside the lotus pond, Zhao Ya took out several purple-green luminous stones and a Poison Guiding Stone.

"Place your hand here."

"What does this have to do with curing me and Yanyan?" Dugu Bo stared at the pearls that were clearly emitting a poisonous aura.

"Just an experiment. If it succeeds, it can make you stronger and it might solve your problem. If it doesn't work, I am very well-versed in medicine and poison."

Looking at the purple-green elemental pebbles covering the Poison Guiding Stone, Dugu Bo's heart couldn't help but beat faster.

Dugu Bo closed his eyes as he slowly placed his palm on top of the cold Awakening Stone.

When the glossy, cold Awakening Stone sensed the warmth from his palms, it immediately began to react. From the very center of the stone a light blossomed.

"Well?" Zhao Ya couldn't help but ask after a few minutes passed.

Suddenly Dugu Bo issued an ear-piercing hiss, jade-like green light bursting forth from his body. Equally rhombic emerald scales, like sheets of inlaid jade, Dugu Bo's human body had already disappeared, transformed into an immense jade green serpent.

Gu Rong and Chen Xin immediately protected Ning Fengzhi, Ning Rongrong and Zhao Ya behind them.

Everyone watched as the jade green serpent gradually became purple-green just like the elemental pebbles.

"Ah! My Dark Blue Lake!" Zhao Ya cried out as a purple-geen fog began to flow from the serpent's mouth. "Water Defense!"

The water lifted Dugo Bo into the air and continuously circled around him to form an omni-directional barrier, preventing the poison from affecting the surroundings.

"Are you alright?" Zhao Ya was distressed as she caressed the blue silver grass that was poisoned.

Summoning her blue silver grass martial spirit, three spirit rings rising, one yellow and two purple.

The first purple spirit ring lit up, the purple-green poison was absorbed by Zhao Ya's martial spirit.

After ensuring the blue silver grass were alright, Zhao Ya turned her attention to Dugu Bo.

Nine spirit rings hovered around the now purple-green serpent, 2 yellow, 2 purple and 5 black. A purple-green light began to spread out from the center of the spirit rings as Dugu Bo's momentum began to increase.

As the light died down, Dugu Bo's nine spirit rings all had a purple-green tint.

The purple green snake disappeared, replaced with Dugu Bo. His hair was no longer a poisonous green but a normal black color.

"I didn't expect for the awakening to actually work." Zhao Ya was pleasantly surprised as the water defense disappeared and Dugu Bo landed on his feet.

"Does that mean we can awaken Magic Elements too?" Ning Fengzhi was quick to catch on. He was very interested in Zhao Ya's Magic after learning about it.

Zhao Ya: "Yes. But instead of a guided awakening, everyone else will do a normal awakening."

Chen Xin: "What's the difference between a guided awakening and a normal awakening?"

Zhao Ya: "A guided awakening is to increase the chances of awakening a certain element. These purple-green pebbles are filled with Poison Elements to guide the awakening of Poison Magic. A regular awakening is to use the Awakening Stone to randomly awaken an Element. The only element that can not be awakened is the Blessing Element. The Blessing Element can only be awakened in Greece and only there, they have the necessary knowledge to properly train a Blessing Mage. The effects of Blessing Magic are similar to the amplification from auxiliary spirits masters."

Ning Rongrong: "Then what do you think I will awaken?"

Zhao Ya: "Probably the Spiritual Element. There is no gem element. The Spiritual Element fits well with the Heart Separation Control technique."
