Transmigration

In the world of cultivation in which strength rules supreme, a handsome young man with long black hair and perfect sharp face could be seen lying inside a small wooden hut.

His eyelids twitched every moment until they were slowly open, his prying eyes scanned the surroundings, looking for any danger.

Finding none so every, the young man got off the cold ground in pain, groaning in the process.

His body was covered in bruises, hidden in a dirty blue-white robe, he started surveilling the surroundings.

'Where is this place?' he looked around and found himself a small cramped, wooden hut that looked as if one small gush from the wind could make it collapse.

There was one small wooden bed with a few sheets, blood stains covered the whole sheets.

He was left to ponder why the predecessor had so many bruises and why was there so much blood on those sheets.

'Did he have a fight with someone?'

Having no clue whatsoever about his new identity, he decided to look around the room to see if he could find something helpful.

The search didn't take much long, as he expected because there was little to no furniture except for the bed.

Underneath the bed, he found soft dirt like it had been recently dug up, inside he found a small leather pouch.

' Finally! ' He thought excitedly, finding exactly what he was looking for.

Opening the pouch, he looked inside a found three small stones, leaving him disappointed.

Just when he was about to throw them away, the light bulb on his head finally turned on.

" Wait! ... from the style of the robe I'm wearing, the condition I was in previously, and now these stones, don't tell me ... I'm in a cultivation world!" he exclaimed.

Although he wasn't hundred percent certain, this was the only logical conclusion he could come up with.

However, he suddenly felt something was off, he could guess these stones must have some value because they were hidden, and this only meant the predecessor didn't want someone else to have them.

Suddenly all the gears in his head started turning. ' The predecessor wasn't sleeping on the ground before I transmigrated into the body, he died right after he buried the stones from the beating he received from others.'

"Damn it! Of all the worlds I could have been transported to, it had to be this dog-eat one. Could this situation possibly get any worse?" he muttered, his brow furrowing in frustration.

*Knock* Knock* Knock*

* Smash!

' Shit, just my luck!' he suddenly heard a knock on the door, leaving him no time to respond but just when he was about to answer, the door was slammed open, and 4 guys barged inside.

One had a big physique while the rest looked physically weak.

"Zhu Chen, it's time to collect the protection fees!" enthusiastically called out a frail-looking man with shoulder-length black hair tied back in a ponytail called Li Han.

"Protection fees?" he asked, looking visibly puzzled.

They all started to become irritated, wasting so much time on this trash was already enough but now wasting their precious time off from practice by playing dumb.

" Don't play dumb, I'm talking about the three Qi stones you received from the sect," he clarified, his voice tinged with frustration.

" What if I don't want to give them" he retorted defiantly, his irritation palpable.

The man with the big physique, presumably the leader of the group called Liang Yang, stepped forward with a menacing grin on his face. "You know the rules, Zhu Chen. Pay up or suffer the consequences," he growled, cracking his knuckles in a threatening manner.

His eyes narrowed as he assessed the situation before him. He could feel the tension in the air, the threat of violence hanging heavy in the room.

Despite his confusion and lack of familiarity with the world of cultivation, Zhu Chen's instincts told him to do exactly what Liang Yang said.

With a deep exhale, his shoulders slumped slightly as he made a difficult decision.

"Fine. Take the stones," his voice carrying a hint of resignation.

Liang Yang's grin widened triumphantly, sensing his capitulation. He gestured to one of his companions, who stepped forward and reached for the small leather pouch containing the three qi stones.

" We'll be letting you get off the hook this time because of your history of obedience. We'll be back next month if you try resisting, you won't get off the hook as easily." he gave him a quick glance before leaving through the door.

Finally, after they left, he dared to sigh of relief, however immediately afterward he started chuckling 'I managed to get more information than expected. looks like I'm not that bad of an actor after all,' he thought, feeling a sense of satisfaction at his clever deception.

He wasn't feeling bad for losing those valuables because his life was more important than some stones.

In a month or so he would receive three more Qi stones from the sect for monthly payment as an outer disciple.

At the moment he didn't know what purpose the Qi stones held but from the novels he read from his previous life, he concluded it must aid their cultivation.
