Chapter 7: 6 Years

It has been Six years since I was reborn in this world or era, and it is still difficult for me to differentiate whether I am really in an alternate world or just living in a past timeline, but judging by what the deity told me before being reborn, it is surely more the former than the latter.

Concerning the events that took place during this time... Well, there are many, such as my first successes at crawling, the first time I ate something other than the milk given by the bottle, and I rediscovered my love for the divinity of food, understanding that it was not just the bottle that was divine, but the food itself.

There are also my first steps. That led to me becoming the terror of the house since being able to walk. I moved around the entire house, and being small in size at that time, I liked to stealthily go to where my parents and uncles were and laugh suddenly to scare them, thus creating a certain degree of paranoia that I could appear at any moment if they were careless.

They even tried to limit me by putting me in playpens for children or closing the doors, but for my level of knowledge, opening the playpens or putting objects to reach the latches of the doors was not difficult, and those things would not stop me. Ah, good times. That lasted a little while, then they got used to it or maybe they just resigned their fate since my jump-scares were no longer new.

During the first 2 years, everything was quite calm for me since I was the one causing the terror. Then as the saying goes, "no king reigns forever," I fell victim to it, and the terror passed into the hands of my successor, or rather 'my sister'. Seonhwa, like any normal baby only began to walk after more than a year and it was only after 2 years that she finally mastered the art of walking and became the new nightmare for everyone in the house, sadly that includes me since I was her main victim.

No, she did not play pranks like me, nor was she stealthy, she is actually the opposite, she was super noisy and annoying, always following me from one place to another and wanting me to pay attention to her or play with her. If I left her behind because I am more agile and could easily lose her, she would start to cry and her crying would cover the whole house, so I had to constantly pay attention and take care of her because sometimes in trying to keep up with me she would end up hurting herself.

Apart from that, she was a normal and sweet girl, I enjoyed my moments of tranquility with her.

Then there was Wooseok, my hyung or older brother. He is now 14 years old and I can say that I am very happy to have him as a brother. Although in the novel it is emphasized how much of a good person and brother he is with the constant help he provided to Seol Jihu whenever he could despite the horrible things Jihu did to the family and to him. The way he is portrayed in the novel and how he is in reality definitely fit perfectly, he is the best hyung I could wish for.

He usually spends his allowance to buy toys or treats for me or Seonhwa and is always looking out for us no matter how tired he is from his studies or duties.

That is why I always try to help him and alleviate his burden in any way I can, but because of my age, adults still take much more care of me than trust me to handle myself, so I don't have as much freedom as I would like.

And finally, regarding the recent family events are the new additions to the family, my little sister Seol Jinhee who was born just two months ago, and Seonhwa's little sister Yoo Seunghae, who was born a few days ago. Thanks to the inspiration of my hyung, I decided to also be the best hyung or in this case oppa for Jinhee and Seunghae as Wooseok is with me.

That is all regarding the family events... Moving on to my development, I have been able to verify and learn many things regarding my physical condition and my abilities.

First, although my abilities are incredible, such as allowing me to obtain four times more results for the same effort or allowing me to recover four times faster than normal, it does not change that they have real limitations.

An example of this is that; following the logic of the first ability, I, whom has lived six years, should have to have the same physical capability as someone who has lived 24 years. The reality however is different. Although I am much more agile and stronger than any child my age, that does not change that my development is limited to the physical development of my body, which is that of a six year old child and therefore at most, I am as strong and fast as a child of nine or maybe even ten years old.

I was also able to verify that I can force my physical training to overcome that limitation at the muscular level, such as becoming stronger if I intensify the training effort, but that has a consequence that I suspected the first time I tried to crawl ahead of time... That is, if my muscles can strengthen faster, my bones actually cannot, and that means if my strength exceeds the resistance of my muscles or bones, I can end up fracturing or breaking my bones or tearing my muscles and negatively affecting my growth, so I discarded the overexertion that would ultimately give negative results to my development.

On the other hand, there is the quick recovery that allows me to recover and rest four times faster than normal. It is true that it works like this, but it is to some extent limited to some things, for example, it applies perfectly to the recovery of physical and mental fatigue. A normal 6-year-old child only needs between nine to twelve hours of sleep daily to function properly without affecting their development, in my case with three hours of sleep daily and I can function perfectly.

I can also rest from an intense physical activity four times faster than children my age undergoing the same type of activity, I know because I verified it with Seonhwa while we played.

So where is the ability limited? Well, it's limited in two things. One is the recovery from wounds or injuries; the ability does not apply to that, and my healing speed for any wound or injury is exactly the same as that of any child my age. I suppose that rules out my idea of adding that multiplier to my active [Self-healing] capacity.

The other limitation is in the recovery of mana. Although the speed of mana recovery is four times faster, this is limited to the presence of the source of mana which is the environment. If there is enough mana to feed the extra recovery speed, then it simply applies, so it only works when there is plenty of mana in the area where I am. I discovered this when my mana reserves grew enough that after spending and recharging them several times in a row, the recharge speed began to increase and to my surprise, even stopped completely. The reason was simple; I had emptied all the mana from the area at that time.

And sadly, I realized that the Earth has very little mana, just as the deity told me. If all the abilities I asked for were active and depended on mana to be used, then I could not develop them while I was on earth where there is very little mana.

As for [Self-healing], I can use it, but it is difficult to improve since it is necessary to continuously use the ability to get better, and to use it requires being injured, and let's be honest, no normal person likes to be injured. Therefore, I limit myself to using it to heal things like mosquito bites or minor scratches that I sometimes accidentally get with Seonhwa while we play.

And that leads me to the last available ability, the [Nine Eyes]. Since I don't like to hurt myself and I have not been able to improve the healing much, most of my focus and mana expenditure go to the [Nine Eyes]. Whenever I can, I keep the ability active and thanks to that, two years ago I finally managed to unlock all the functions of the Green color. Now I can see the description of people and objects with its help, but I am still not able to unlock any other color. However, I already have an idea of how to do it, so I am quite satisfied.

This is progressively getting more tedious as we continue. If just translating an already existing work is this tiresome, I cannot even being to imagine how annoying it is for Authors who have to write everything from nothing. This raises a whole new level of appreciation I have for Authors.

To any authors reading this, Keep up the good work, it is honestly well appreciated!!!!
