Prologue - Jaune's Awakening

Jaune Arc is many things, A blonde haired 17 year old guy. Yes. An idiot who doesn't have any preservation instincts. Also yep. Someone who wouldn't leave his friends behind even to save his own skin? Triple Yep.

So when the mission came for JNPR, RWBY, and CVFY, to explore and check out some ancient ruins they all said yes, not only as a means of gaining some money, but also as a way to enjoy some team bonding due to how Jaune was gaining some proper experience and some respect from the various students. He could finally beat Cardin in a one on one fight… About 3 times out of 10… but hey it was some improvement!

His friends all agreed that it was indeed some impressive progress that he underwent to grow so much and actually beat Cardin at all given how he was rag dolled by basically everyone in their year up until a month ago when he won his first match against the bully. Only to be challenged by Cardin every time there was a free match just to prove it wasn't a fluke. Now the bully has it out for Jaune to prove he is greater than the dork knight in everything from skill to power. Jaune can only grit his teeth and endure until his muscles and skill grows better than they are now. But until then he will do his best to grow and keep training with not only Pyrrha but all his team mates. After a shocking reveal of his falsified transcripts he was afraid of them all trying to get rid of him or outright abandoning him. Instead most of them agreed to help him as they have seen his progress and know he is trying his hardest to live up to the standards of Beacon academy.

Weiss was the only one who was not so keen on letting him off the hook. She even threatened to turn him into the police for falsifying his documents. Everyone objected except Jaune. He actually told Weiss that if she wanted to then she can go ahead, but he would do his best to earn his place back and prove her wrong. With tensions growing Weiss actually smiled at that and said, "Alright! I won't!" Everyone was still and gobsmacked for a good 2 minutes before the barrage of questions came towards her. A single hand help up silenced them. And she explained.

"I wanted to test his resolve. If he had fought and begged then I would have gone through with my threat, and told the police and head master Ozpin. But since he was willing to prove me wrong and earn his place back instead of giving up, then I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Just like I should've with you Blake. Sorry about that." A quick 'none taken' is heard, and she focuses on a smiling Jaune, before her serious face and a pointing finger is right in his face making him go cross eyed staring at her finger as if it was the tip of her rapier, "However! I will only give you the benefit of th edoubt so long as you continue to show your hard work, and focus on improving that you have been showing us so far this year. Am I Understood?"

With a gulp Jaune shakily smiles at her with a slight stutter, "I- I under-understand. I'll do my best!"

With a playful smile she giggles and turns away with a slight sway in her hips that Jaune caught and quickly looked up before refocusing his eyes on her face and blushing as he sees her head turned to look back at him with a playful smile once again on her face. She simply says, "Don't make me feel cheated in believing you Jaune~."

With a wink she finishes walking away while the rest of the team all look between Jaune and Weiss's interaction with a 'what the fuck?' look about them with how that talk went. Pyrrha is grinding her teeth at how Weiss got a leg up on her for trying to get Jaunes attention in this reveal. So she resolved herself to be more assertive and open with her feelings regarding Jaune.

Fast forward a month to today and Pyrrha is noticing Jaune looking at her and blushing more seeming to notice her charms, while Weiss is still in the race for him too, and for some reason it seems like Velvet has decided to join the race for the Knights heart! Given how many times the teams have all trained together or studied together over the last 3 weeks since Jaune stood up to the bullies for Velvet making her hang out with him more often. Thus resulting in their three teams becoming closer and practically becoming one huge extended team.

And now they are on a fresh mission that is taking them to an abandoned temple while led by Doctor Oobleck. Who is taking them as bodyguards to an old abandoned temple recently discovered in an old mountain range far west of Vale that was revealed during a large Earthquake. The excavation team has two full teams of full fledged huntsmen guarding them but Oobleck has been allowed to go inside the ruins to study them for traps, Grimm, and other dangers. So he elected to take team RWBY, JNPR, and CVFY for their grades and experience in Grimm suppression mission so far during their first 3 months at Beacon and figured this would be a great learning experience and expansion opportunity of their teams cohesion.

And thus we are near where things got bad.

Oobleck looked out the port window of the Bullhead they were all riding inside of. He smiles at seeing the ruins is such pristine condition and looks to his students to see hwo they are fairing. They are all joking and laughing and discussing what formations to do while Jaune is doing his best to focus on the Leader planning while trying not to hurl his guts out thanks to his motion sickness. Pyrrha is holding his hand and helping him pulse his aura just right to control the urge. Weiss is quietly seething at what Pyrrha is doing but accepts it as she is seated by Ruby and can't help Jaune in her own way. Velvet is quietly just thinking of what chances she can get to do something similar to what Pyrrha is doing on this mission.

Oobleck quietly laughs and shakes his head at the young adults and teens antics while muttering, "ah to be young and in love again."

He notices the Bullhead is beginning to land and turns to address his students, "Alright everyone! Attention!" Everyone turns to the prof- ahem – the Doctor and listens in, "We are arriving at the site of the ruins, I want you all to be on your best behavior, and to listen to directions! No wandering off! No excessive damage to the ruins interior! Yes miss Yang, Coco, and Nora that means you three especially for explosives, brute force, and gunfire. I will not risk the integrity of the historical value of this site just because you three couldn't hold yourselves in check! Am I understood!"

With a very close lean in all three girls are leaning back and gulping while nodding fast to avoid the wrath of the history nut. He then goes back and opens the hatch to the loading door as they have finally landed after his speech and checks to see all is okay before telling the students to disembark.

After gathering their packs and gear the students all come out to see a nice excavation dig with Sentry turrets on the perimeter with the 8 full fledged Huntsmen patrolling and watching for signs of Grimm activity. There are a few Security droids within the camp one guarding each tent, and a pair guarding each dug up site the excavators were studying. Many scientists and researchers covered the area, but they all looked so calm that the students were wondering if they were even needed for this mission.

Oobleck greeted one of them, "Greeting professor Garreth! How goes the site!"

A faunus with bull horns and a scruffy head of dark brown hair looks up from a scroll with images he was analyzing before turning to look at Oobleck, he laughs loudly before coming up to the doctor and giving him a hearty hand shake, "Oobleck! My old friend and colleage! Good to see you in the flesh! And the site is doing fine! No complaints!"

Oobleck raises a single eyebrow before looking around the site, "No complaints? Not even of the Grimm variety?"

Garreth is about to answer before stopping and then thinking, "Actually now that you point it out, yeah! Only a pack or two of Beowolves and about 3 ursa… nothing to write reports of since they were taken care of quickly and with efficiency. But it has been concerning since no other attacks have happened even thought we have been here on site for at least 5 days now and nothing bigger has attacked or caused actual alarm in our defenses."

Oobleck quietly ponders this while the teams are discussing this information.

Ruby, "Wow! What do you guys think it is? Some sort of artifact? Maybe an ancient sigil? OH! Maybe some sort of buried energy source?!"

Yang chuckles at her sister thoughts while Weiss is trying to calm her down. Blake merely rolls her eyes and looks around for anything strange while Ren does the same, Nora is putting her own two cents into the crazy powerful weapon theory while Coco and her team have taken passive guard positions around the Doctor to keep an eye out while he decides their next course of action.

Jaune however is looking right at the door to the main ruin temple, feeling a presence in there calling to him, trying to draw him in, his eyes begin to glaze over as he is about to take a step towards the temple. Right before he hears, "Jaune!"

And he shakes his head while his eyes clear up, turning to his right to see a worried Pyrrha looking at him with concern in her eyes and a frown on her face, he looks back to the temple and doesn't feel the odd pull anymore. He turns to his partner with a sheepish smile on his face, "Sorry Pyr, guess I zoned out, what were you saying?"

Pyrrha looks Jaune up and down to make sure he wasn't hiding anything from her before shaking her head and turning towards their group who are beginning to gather around Oobleck who is about to issue orders, "Doctor Oobleck has decided on our next course of action, we need to gather up. You sure you're okay? I can ask to have our team wait by the entrance if you are still woozy from the trip out here."

Jaune shakes his head, "Don't worry Pyrrha, like I said I guess I just zoned out, nothing to worry about! I'll be fine, let's go hear the orders and get ready to tackle that temple!"

Jaune walks over to the others with a pep in his step, and Pyrrha follows along less worried but still concerned over whether Jaune is hiding anything from her. Especially since she swears she heard him mutter something under his breathe while he was zoned out while looking at the temple.

Giving the temple one more over the shoulder look she gathers with the others. Failing to see the pair of glowing blue eyes in the shadow of the temples door open for a brief moment before closing again and retreating deeper into the temple with a whisper of ~the inheritor is here!~

After a team meeting Oobleck explains that they will go into the ruins with the teams having a scouting formation in place, Ren, Blake, and Fox will scout ahead, Nora, Yatsuhashi, Yang, Jaune, and Pyrrha will be vanguards, Velvet, Oobleck, and Weiss will be mid range at the center of their group while Ruby and Coco bring up the rear as the gunners and long range specialists of their group.

No one argues and they all enter in this formation into the temple while a squad of security bots guard the entrance to make sure that nothing bad gets out or if the hunters need backup. Whichever comes first.

They all slowly make their way into the temple and keep keen ears and eyes out for any trouble. The temple seems simple in design, depictions of ancient battles with a large warrior in gleaming armor depicted in ancient platinum that have been carved into the walls from whoever made this temple. His blade looks like a more elaborate version of Jaunes blade Crocea Mors. Yang even jokes about this guy maybe being an Arc. Weiss and Oobleck both hum in thought at that and look around for other clues as they can't seem to decipher the old glyphs and text writings around each image. The interesting part of this is that the walls show monsters and creatures that are definitely not Grimm. But shrug it off for now as older versions of Grimm before the current ones they know came into being.

Oobleck is making notes of any possible theories while Weiss and Velvet are taking pictures and helping the Doctor compile data. Everyone is starting to relax as they go deeper into this temple, Ren, Blake, and Fox all come back stating that the temple is 3 floors deep and that nothing happened on their journey deeper until they reached a set of doors that didn't seem to want to open no matter what they did. Oobleck in his interest decides that the teams shall proceed deeper to the third floor entrance before they stop for a rest.

Ruby, Jaune, and Coco agree and follow the Doctor with their full teams now. But like they said nothing happens. All they conclude is that the top floor seems to be for offerings, prayer, or other events, maybe even just being a museum of history of some kind. While the second floor seems to be a living area, and the final floor is a sanctum of some kind that has the doors at the end of it with a pedestal in the center of it with an inlaid groove or hole of some kind.

They stop to rest and eat while glancing at their surroundings trying to figure out where they are and what this place is.

Ruby begins another theory tirade with Nora backing her up and Blake simply sighs and tries to read her book through the noise, while Ren tries to keep their theories form getting too crazy. Coco simply smirks while going through a mission report to make sure they have their bases covered for when they are done with this temple exploration. Weiss and Velvet are with Oobleck trying to figure out the purpose of the pedestal while Yang and Yatsuhashi are arm wrestling, and Fox is meditating.

Jaune and Pyrrha are in front of the door leading to something else in this sanctum area. Jaune seems to be in deep thought while he stares at the doors patterns showing a great warrior fighting off an army of monsters from the center of the doors with his sword brandished overhead like a beacon of hope. Jaune draws Corcea Mors and compares the two. Besides the shape and color, they are different in design and size. But something keeps calling to him subtly.

Pyrrha is worried about Jaune and how focused he is on these doors but simply keeps an eye on him, "Jaune?"

"hm? Yes Pyr?"

"Um are you concerned about the sword? Your sword? Or just this place in general?"

Jaune puts his sword down and looks around, checking to make sure everyone is busy before turning to Pyrrha fully and sheathing his sword, "Honestly all of that, plus I haven't been zoning, I was actually listening. I feel like someone is calling out to me. But I can't place my finger on it. It has to do with this place but it keeps escaping me."

Pyrrha gets more concerned but then thinks to herself as well, "Maybe we can talk to Weiss, Velvet, and Dr. Oobleck? They might have a clue since they have been studying this place since we got inside?"

Jaune hums then nods slowly before gentle smile comes to his face, calming Pyrrhas concerns as he says, "Yeah I think they are the best ones to discuss this with, lets go."

But as they approach the Doctor and their friends Jaunes ears pick up a heart beat that slowly seems to be getting louder as they approach the pedestal. Jaune seems to become more focused on the pedestal as they approach, Pyrrha notices that Jaune seems to be quiet and hyper focused at they approach growing worried. The trio at the pedestal notice their approach and turn to address them, "Ah Ms. Nikos! Mr. Arc! We were wondering what you were doing over by the door there! Did you notice something?"

Oobleck approaches them with Velvet and Weiss both looking slightly concerned at Jaune looking zoned out despite him still walking normally. But right as Pyrrha stops in front of Oobleck to ask him about the sword designs of the carvings, Jaune instead pushes past the group and goes right towards the center of the room.

Oobleck is caught off guard along with Weiss and Pyrrha, but Velvet goes to grab Jaunes hand to try and turn him towards them, with a "Wait Jaune!"

But even with her strength Jaune seems to walk normally even with her weight acting as an anchor trying to slow him down. So now he is walking normally despite having Velvet practically being pulled along behind him. This doesn't go unnoticed by their friends who all look up at the yell and gape at seeing that Velvet is being pulled along by their weakest member. Even Pyrrha and Weiss are now helping trying to slow him down or stop him. But all they manage to do is make him falter for a few seconds before he seems to get a second wind and continue his normal paced walk towards the center.

The others all get up to help but suddenly Oobleck notices a glow coming from Jaunes blade as he is nearing the pedestal. Before the others can all add their weight to try and snap Jaune out of his trance Oobleck shouts, "Wait! All of you stand down! I believe this temple is calling out to Mr. Arc and his blade! We shall wait and see what happens, and only intervene if it should get dangerous!"

Reluctantly Pyrrha, Velvet, and Weiss all let go, and Jaune suddenly sprints to the pedestal and draws his blade at the same time. He leaps up and lands with both feet at a parade stance over the groove, then drives his sword down about half way down his blades length until a click is heard. Suddenly the temple shakes and Jaunes aura flares up covering him in a storm of Aura energy. His friends all call out to him in panic while shielding themselves from the wind and glow. Oobleck is recording this as best he can while trying to approach his student in measured steps that require great effort.

But right as he is within 5 ft of him Jaunes storm of aura cuts off as it is all absorbed into the sword and down into the pedestal, making the room glow with ancient circuitry. The room brightens and the doors begin to clank open. As this happens Jaune falls off the pedestal with his sword still clutched in hid hands. As Pyrrha and Velvet manage to leap and catch him before he falls to the ground.

The rest of their group are focused on the doors opening, while their way in has sealed shut with a loud "WHOOOOM!" They all focus on the doors while Ren runs over to Jaune with their team aura readings out and ready to be scanned. He turns a bit pale when he sees, "Pyrrha!" The red haired champion looks up to her teammate and grows worried at his pale face as he reads out, "Jaunes Aura… its zero! He is going to be down for a whi-!"

"Ugh."

Their eyes all snap back down to Jaune as he gets up groggy with his free hand rubbing his head, and looking to his friends about to ask what happened when a loud THUD, is heard, followed by another. Everyone refocuses their attention on the doors that are now fully open and see a 15ft tall metal knight come out of the room inside. Followed by 4 more, each one wields a specific weapon. One is a light armored knight with twin scimitar blades, another is a heavy knight using a tower shield and axe, another is a spear wielder with medium armor, another is using medium armor but this time with a pair of daggers which may as well be Yatsuhashis sword given the size difference, and the final one is wielding a bow while using armored leather, but since each one is made of metal it is a moot point.

The teams all prepare for battle while Jaune tries to get up but Oobleck says, "Mr. Arc you are remain seated and recover your aura, I don't know what kind of trap this is but it clearly used your sword and aura for it. We don't blame you and we will be here to help you recover so that we can all escape and leave once you are able! Am I understood?"

Jaune nods with a guilty look on his face as the others all charge in to fight off their enemies. He looks around and all his friends all nod sharing Ooblecks sentiment and refocus as the knights all draw their weapons and charge. Oobleck calls out, "Attack! Ms. Schnee! Help me activate the door behind us so we may have an avenue for retreat!"

Weiss looks at her friends as they begin the clash but realizes they will need to retreat since Jaune is down for the count. With a reluctant nod she follows the Doctor.

Jaune sits up in the spot he collapsed doing his best to recover by trying to use his meditation training to get back any aura he can, to be able to help his friends fight for their very lives.

At the battle Ruby and Blake enter the fray first with their superior speed. They are counter charged by the twin blade knight showing that he is just as fast or even faster than they are. One blade keeps up with Ruby and her scythe despite her gun blazing to either take shots or to boost her maneuverability. Blake is doing the same thing using her gun blade to help her take a few shots when an opening comes out while using her semblance to dodge the blows she takes in order to take those shots. But even with their combined force they are chipping away at it as even when their bullets hit they only see small dents appear in the metal knights armor. With their blades they see actual scratches appear but not much else. Gritting their teeth the ladybug of RWBY do their best to keep this knight held down.

Pyrrha, Velvet, and Ren all take on the spear wielder to try and hold him off of the others. They use Velvets ability of copying weapons to have her produce Akuo in spear form while Pyrrha also does her best to use her spear arts on the knight. They are actually able to match it in strength and power but they are at a stalemate. Ren dives between the fighters and does an aura pulse punch on the knights shin (Think the aura pulse he used on the king Taiju during their initiation). The blow actually dents the metal by a good 3 inches and goes out from the site of impact by 5inches, but no other damage is seen. Ren leaps back while firing his gun pistols at the knight but all the bullets are too small to do anything more than make a few scuff marks on the metal skin. Pyrrha hears the clash of bullets and uses her semblance, actually tearing off the knights armor along its shins and forearms. But the weight and resistance they had drains Pyrrha of her Aura by a good 25% especially since it took so much effort to do this while dodging and counter attacking. She makes a mental note at this point, Note to self, if we survive, train semblance more to be better use in the heat of battle."Yikes!" Her momentary distraction almost costs her her head as she ducks under a spear thrust from the knight and loses a few inches off her ponytail hair. She refocuses and goes for the arms while Velvet and Ren focus on the legs.

Yang, Nora, and Yatsuhashi all went for the heavy knight to keep it distracted and off the role of Tank. They all crash into it with Yangs punch, Noras hammer, and Yatsus blade. But right as the smoke cleared from all their attacks they see they only made impact with the shield. It was only sporting a scratch barely 6 inches long, and two new dents each only slightly larger than a wok for noodles. They all look up and see the knights eyes glowing before swinging its axe around. They manage to leap back and dodge only to find their flanks have been exposed to the dagger wielder. It is about to slash their backs when Fox leaps in and uses his arm blades to deflect both blades away form his team mates. He grunts and then shouts out with an aura pulse to push the dagger knight away. Then leaps after it.

Coco notices the stalemate as she is stuck in her own with her bullets being fired down by the large energy arrows the bow knight seemed to materialize out of thin air to shoot at a shocking 5 per second nearly matching her gattling gun. "Yatsu! Leave yang and Nora to the shield guy! Fox needs another blade to push back that dagger knight! Go!"

Yatsu checks with Yang and Nora who both nod as they leap back towards the heavy knight. Yang hitting the shield trying to break it down while Nora leaps and tries to smash the axe to pieces. And they begin to make progress.

Jaune cracks open an eye from his recovery pose to see how the battle fairs. In his opinion it was good but it wasn't going great. Everyone was taking blows at each blow from one of those knights as taking at least 10% of their aura with them per hit. Yang was getting a power boost but everyone else was losing efficiency as their aura begin to drop below 50%. The knights are all damaged but look like they still had enough fight in them to take at least 1 or 2 of their members down with them. Looking at Oobleck and Weiss they are almost done with the door as Weiss goes in to help Coco with the archer, tipping the scales in their favor but only adding so much weight to their side.

Jaune looks at his scroll to see he is at 15% aura, not much but it will have to do. Getting to his feet quickly with a pained grunt from Aura overuse. He charges in and surprises Pyrrha by taking a spear blow on his shield meant for her as she had stumbled during a landing.

She looks at Jaune as he struggles under the weight but then smiles as she sees the old him before the pedestal had come back in full force. They join their shields together and charge in.

With the help of Weiss and Jaune coming in the tides turn fully. Jaune, Pyrrha, Velvet, and Ren all managed to finish the spear knight with 4 on 1 odds being the key. Then went on to help Yang and Nora by chipping away at the heavy knight until they landed some key blows and toppled it. Next came Ruby and Blake getting the help of the growing group charging in and dealing a bunch of damage quickly to the lighter armored twin blade knight. Fox and Yatsu were next getting a swarm of students helping and taking down the dagger knight. Then the bow knight was next as Coco and Weiss were on full defensive after having used up most of their long range options on the metal head. The reinforcements turned the tide fully.

With all the metal knights done everyone collapses in heaps of exhaustion while chuckling to each other in relief. They glance at the metal heaps on the ground and then take stock of their remaining gear and auras. Oobleck catches their attention mid check and says, "I will have this door open in about 10 more minutes team! Standby!"

They all nod and continue their checks. Everyone in their group sans Jaune are toeing the line between 30%-40% aura left. Those knights hit hard. Jaune was down to his final 10% as he took a glancing blow from the twin sword knight. But for th emost part they were doing okayish.

The problem came when Oobleck said 5 minutes left on the exit door. Everyone had been resting and making sure they were okay before they heard another THUD. They all got into battle stances and glared at the enemy doors. Followed by another footfall, then another, yet another, and they grew pale as they saw not 5, not 10, not even 15 knights emerge, but 30 of them instead. They all came out with 10 heavy in front, 10 spears behind them, then 10 lighter twin swords and twin daggers behind those. Then the rain of energy arrows came through as the front line knights all took a knee to allow them to pass overhead.

Jaune began to order with wide panicked eyes, "DOD-!"

Before the explosions from the arrows began. Screams of pain surrounded Jaune as he landed behind the pedestal form the first explosion. He opens his eyes with a ringing in his ears as he looks over the pedestal to check on his friends, only to pale at seeing their states.

Nora is barely standing while having endured some arrows for Ren who is unconscious behind her while his head is bleeding covering his eyes and soaking the collar of his tunic. Yang is down with bloody scratches and burn marks all over her while Ruby is crying over her trying to wake her as she is nursing her side where a hastily bandaged gash is shown. Weiss is checking on Blake whos right leg is bleeding hard from getting hit directly from an arrow. Weiss herself is leaning heavily on her right leg while her left side back is heavily burnt from an arrow explosion. Yatsu and Velvest managed to use a combined effort of his greatsword and her summoned shield to handle the worst of it, but Coco used her gattling gun to endure the rain of destruction. She collapses as he gun is in shreds and Coco herself is in a lot of pain from the concussive damage of the explosions. Fox was in the best condition as his aura sense ability allowed him to dodge the arrows and their explosive ranges. But he is still banged up and temporarily deaf from the loud noise of all those explosions overloading his sensitive hearing.

Jaune gasps as he looks at Pyrrha who had been charging the line to try and cut off the arrows. She had made it to the heavy line but was overwhelmed by the spears and axes of the first two lines. She was at the front of their group while covered in huge gashes and her weapons were cracked and dented so badly even ruby would be unable to fix them without having to remake them. Jaune stumbles to her and then looks at their teacher Oobleck.

His eyes widen at seeing the history teacher still standing at the door, but with a huge burn mark on his back revealing red and black burned skin. But he has managed to finish the lock despite his injuries. He yells out while getting his thermos out with it in battle mode, "Come! We must fall back immediately! Anyone who can run do so! Those who can carry the injured! Hurry!"

Coco nudges Fox then points at the injured as she limps towards the exit, Yang and Blake are carried by Yatsu, Fox picks up Ren while Weiss uses her rapier as a crutch and limps towards the exit as well. Nora picks up Pyrrha while Ruby is briskly walking towards the exit. They all rush towards the exit while Jaune brings up the rear, before they all stop with pained and pale expressions in fear at a resounding noise comes form behind, THUD THUD THUD.

Looking back they all see the lines of knights are marching towards them at a leisurely pace. As if they have all the time in the world. Which given the state of their members the knights probably do. Their injured speed wouldn't keep ahead of the knights for long as they were already tiring.

They all resume their charge, while Jaune looks to the pedestal then the knights chasing them, then the doors to the outside, then his friends. He gulps while making a decision. And turns to face the oncoming metal monsters.

His friends don't notice him missing until they are almost out, Ruby notices when she says, "We're almost out! C'mon Jaune we can make it!" When no answer comes she turns and pales with wide eyes at seeing him back by the pedestal while the knight battalion is almost on him.

"JAUNE!!" Her scream is heard by the others and they all turn to see him ready to buy them time. Oobleck immediately turns to his student and readies himself to charge in when he hears, "JUST GO! I'll hold them while you get the reinforcements from the surface! Move! I can maybe last 2 to 3 minutes!"

Oobleck hesitates until he takes stock of everyones injuries and then nods to himself, "VERY WELL MR. ARC! BUT WE WILL BE BACK FOR YOU! Everyone retreat now so we may get the reinforcements!"

Pyrrha wakes up at this time from Noras shoulder and notices the talking and what is said before her eyes widen at seeing Jaune ready to face down all those knights with no back up while everyone else is heading out the door they came through and back to the second floor. She begins to weakly kick and tries to scream for Jaune but her body is so tired she simply squirms a bit and lets out a weak croak of despair while saying, "Jaune… No… Please.. I need… MY knight… ugh..." Before she returns to unconsciousness.

Jaune gulps down readies his stance then charges with a battle cry towards the knights.

Everyone grimaces as they hear his brave yell only to be followed by clashes of metal on metal that slowly fade as they soon hear pain screams and squelches then finally a long blood curdling scream of pain as they make it back to the second floor.

Tears sting all their eyes as they now know their friend is dead and gone while sacrificing himself for their survival.

They make it to the surface and call Ozpin while sending in the Huntsmen teams and security bots to go down and take out the knights who can threaten Vale with their size and strength if they get out. And to try and recover Jaune Arcs remains.

Inner sanctum

Unknown to all above the temple. Jaune was in fact still alive… in a sense. He had indeed been taken out with 5 swords sticking out from his body, but his body was now on the pedestal and was being repaired by the spirits of this place that saw the whole fight. Shadowy figures are seen with glowing blue eyes as they face a gold spirit in gleaming armor who approaches Jaunes slowly being healed body. He hums and laughs to himself, only to see an armored shadow, his second in command come up to him, ~His body is almost ready for you milord, all we need to do is place your soul within and you shall be reborn to fight against the monarch of Grimm once again! We shall win this time!~

A cheer is heard from the shadows as the lord hums again before diving deeper into Jaunes soul and looking at him as he is and who he was. Before his eyes widen at the glow of his spirit and seeing something he thought was lost in this modern day and age. A loud laugh form him silences his shadow soldiers, before he inhales with excitement, ~This boy will be my inheritor! He will not be my vessel! But instead shall be the next Monarch of Warriors! Our champion against the Monarch of Grimm! And ally to the Monarch of Magic! Are there any who disagree?~

None raise up except his second in command, ~Milord? What about our fight? We have fought the Grimm Monarch for Generations ever since the Brother gods left this world under our guidance and protection! Are we giving up?~

The Monarch of Warriors looks at his second in command before a hearty laugh is heard, ~Far from it my friend, no this boy is a true inheritor, his soul is like that of mine! Meaning he has the potential to become his own Monarch thanks to our powers! We shall still give him our support and my soul energy! But he will still be himself! Much like the Monarch of Shadows did so long ago in that other Dimension! Allowing himself to merge with a true inheritor to grow even more powerful than before. Understand?~

With widened eyes in understanding now all the voices are unanimous as Jaunes body is healed and ready for the transfer. The knights all collapse into pieces to make it seem like someone else came to help the lad in taking them all out.

Their energy gathers and goes into Jaunes body making it seizure as his body accepts them all and then goes limp from the souls adjusting to him. Then a message is heard by all except Jaune, System Uploaded, Player Recognized and Registered Jaune Arc the current Inheritor will be allowed to grow into the next Monarch of Warriors and Beyond.

Satisfied with their work the shadows all disappear and allow Jaunes Aura that charged this place and brought them back to fight against the Grimm Monarch once again to flow back into his body and bring him back to full health for when the rescue team comes for him.
