It still unnerved her that she could hear just the slightest creak in the house. Though Arias stalked easily around the house, his predator instincts making it so he could effortlessly muffle his footsteps, she could still hear every one, pinpointing him in the house as he moved. This newly enhanced sense of hers no longer bothered as much, no longer sending shooting pains in her head, which she appreciated but it was tender and still scared her at times. The only thing, however, that seemed to calm her nerves when she got overwhelmed was the sound of his heartbeat. It seemed to lull her, the strong, steady pounding in his chest that assured his life just sung to hear, appealed to her. His voice evoked the same reaction, only if he were speaking quietly and at a distance, as her ears were still sensitive to loud and or moderate noises. She seemed to find herself craving those sounds, his being, which also unnerved her but brought her solace from the constant ache in her head.
