'Turns out far, REALLY far.' I was beginning to see the tree leaves before I saw them there perched on the upper branches.
They were huddled together asleep. They had no idea I was there. For all they knew I could have been an aerial predator.
'Okay so now just need to wake them up without startling them too badly. I could see the dried blood on the female from here.'
"Hey, you two. It's time to wake up, your safe." I called out as softly as I could.
Their response was immediate, they both jolted and the second one that I couldn't see before revealed itself to be another female. She was smaller than the other one, and I could see that she had an injury on her arm.
They were confused at first but once they focused on me hovering there they sighed in relief.
"I'm so happy to see you cheifs daughter, for a moment I thought ~ " she broke off crying slightly.
'I knew what she meant and I was also thankful to see them alive.'
I quickly explained to them the situation which granted at first they were a bit horrified to be working with what they thought were the enemy. When I mentioned Raji however the one who spoke to me first, I found out her name was Layla, she began to calm down.
The smaller one who was hurt Mimi, however, was still afraid at the prospect but after a good min Layla helped me convince her.
Once I healed them both they jumped and flew down with me to meet with the herd and Raji below.
"You were up there for a good while, had some difficulties?" Shadows voice greeted me as we came into view.
'Just a few ~ ' I laughed through the link as I landed next to him.
"Everyone this is Layla and Mimi. Layla, Mimi, Raji you already know, however over there is Altia she is the Queen of the Fox Deer. Next to me is Shadow, he's my mate."
Layla waved cheerfully while Mimi just nodded.
I could tell that Layla had a playful personality. She wore her hair short in the back and slightly long in the front. It was a beautiful shade of red borderlining orange. Her eyes were a light blue and seemed to sparkle with a playful light. Her fur was brown going to a lighter shade near her claws.
Mimi on the other hand had black fur with one white spot on her chest. Her hair was a wavy black and fell just slightly below her nape. Mimis eyes too were black, that literally reflected the world back as you gazed into them.
"Alright now there were seven of us that survived that ambush two nights ago. Me, Raji, Layla, Mimi ~ " Here I nod towards them.
"However we still have three more tribesmen to find and I feel like if we don't hurry it'll just be us by the end of the month. So I need to know ~" Here I take a deep breath.
"Do you two happen to know where the other three got off too?"
Layla's face dropped and Mimi began to cry silently.
My stomach felt like it suddenly hit the floor.
'No, please no.'
