25 Days and tasty kebabs

'Man one could become addicted to this kind of taste.' I thought as I munched on my second kebab stick.

I felt a tiny sensation in the mind link. Kind of like an intrigue, along with a tiny bit of want and salvation? I looked back at the herd and saw Shadow drooling slightly with his nose twitching.

'So freaking adorable.' I thought as I stood up and brought over a few of the extra sticks of Spiky Devil Bear kebab.

'Do you want to try some? ' I asked as I held out the stick and wafted it a little under his snout. 

"Little mate, please don't tease me. Can I please have a bite? " He made a cute pitiful face and I couldn't resist a slight chuckle before holding it still for him. 

He gingerly took a small bite, his eyes immediately lighting up in pleasure. He devoured the rest so fast I barely had the time to blink before the kebab was gone. 

'Well then looks like I wasn't the only one who thought Spike Devil Bear should be a regular on the menu.'

"As tasty as that was, Spike Devil Bears are a naturally enemy of Fox Deers.... we have never though had a reason to hunt them back. Let the herd try the rest, I'm pretty sure they too will enjoy it to the point of changing their minds." His evil chuckle through the mind link made me let out a wry chuckle myself because the reactions the herd was about to have would be definitely in favor of hunting their predator. 

Handing out the rest of the kebab sticks to the herd, I watched their faces go from surprise to absolute enjoyment. Their tails were even wagging. 

'Well there's your answer~' I said while pointing to the rest of the herd. 

"Okay then, after you all finish your snack we need to head out and continue looking for the rest of the Hellcats. Remember we have five more to find still." Shadow barked out behind him. The ones that had already finished their kebabs began licking their paws and whipping their muzzles. 

'Hey Deb, can you tell me how many days left we have till the month ends?' 

[Quest: Trial of life (25 days)] 

'It had only been a day... one long freaking day. With how crazy it had been when Shadow had dream walked with me it felt like another day had actually gone by.'  

"I'm sorry little mate, the dream walk was supposed to be something completely different although it ended still the way I wanted it too thanks to that meddling God of Beasts. " I patted his head affectionately letting him know through the pats and emotions that I wasn't too bothered by what had happened anymore. 

'For me getting a mate as soon as I became an adult, that hadn't crossed my mind. Actually romance of any shape or form hadn't even occurred to me. The fact that i'm also mated to a magical beast? I had no idea on how the laws and customs of this world even work yet ~ ' However I knew with Shadow by my side things would work out just fine.

"Alright lets go everyone!" Shadow bellowed while leaning down for me to hop on while Raji hopped on his partnered Fox Deer. We took off again heading deeper into the shadows of the trees hoping that we soon would run across one of my tribesmen.
