The transformation that Jamal's face underwent at that moment was incredulous as his face closed up, and Lily was scared of what would happen next.
"Kamal, you are here," Hafiz said trying to dissipate the tension that seemed to get thicker in the air as Kamal got closer.
"Good morning, my queen," Kamal said, not greeting Lily in the traditional way, and unlike Jamal, he did not kiss her but bowed lightly in acknowledgment.
"Brothers, I see you started the party without me," He said again, specifically facing Jamal, but Jamal remained quiet.
"I hope you haven't been going around getting into trouble; you being back in the palace is a chance to redeem yourself," Hafiz said, staring between his two younger brothers while Lily marveled at how they could look like mirror images yet despise each other that much.
